Is there a torch system in this?

There are torches and light is kinda important for gameplay reasons in some places but there are no pitch black areas that you have to carry a torch. Not even in THE UNDERDARK! There is a curse stuff in act 2 that requires some light around you but not the same thing and torches won't go out.

How gameplay differs from the previous BG games (aside Dark Alliance games) in this?

Light years different. This is Divinity Original Sin 3 with D&D 5th edition rules.

Technically you can't create a custom party, you can hire mercenries but they are all preset characters, you can only change their classes and looks,


If I recall correctly, the lighting system is also being toned down quite a lot, no doubt to make it more appealing to the normies. In EA if you don't have dark vision even your melee attack is in disadvantage, I use to take La'zel and gale with me to the under dark it's a fucking nightmare because they are useless.

In the release version I take both of them and I barely had any trouble, hardly noticed anything different.

Just finished the game yesterday (or today at 2AM), gotta say I loved the game, the only complaints I have were related to some of QoL choices that mods fixed, I do wish the game slowed the leveling a little bit as I hit max level in the first hours of Act 3, so they either have to increase level cap or slow leveling experience a bit.

You can't omit all sexual references but you can disable cinematic nudity which gives everyone little fig leaves over their unmentionables when they get naked and removes the option to select genitals from the character creation screen. You can also select an option to have the more graphic sex scenes replaced with text descriptions.

I get what you mean I remember reaching level 20 in PF: Kingmaker before the credit rolls by two hours, but in my playthrough of BG3 and doing all the quest in Act 3 I think I spend like 30 hours while I'm level 12.
Maybe I got conditioned too much by ARPG's and wanting to see the number goes up while I'm playing.
