Its not like BG3 is the first popular game with many mods.
Considering the ability to mod for console and Mac was out for "less than a week" and for PC a month (05.09 vs 05.10) these are still very impressive numbers on its own.

Not only that but BG3 mod quality are not even close to level of TES, Neverwinter, Warcraft 3, RimWorld, Paradox and Total War games.
It is not about quality. It is about numbers.

Do they really need to add this kind of perversion to a fantasy game though? Even mentioned in passing(I'm sure most players missed this conversation - I finished the game thrice and don't even remember this gnome). In the original series the only kinky stuff I remember was from Viconia(she recounted being raped) and the drow city in the underdark. There was no pedophilia or such far out stuff.

Imagine if Aerie for instance had such a history of being raped or abused as a child - which considering her background as a child slave would have made sense in real world terms. That is really not something you want in this kind of game.

At this point in time, the connection need not be articulated. And no, it is not because blacks and dykes are paedophiles, but more because those that push them are.

Is a conversion from a P&P class "Unearthed Arcana: The Mystic Class" and so far seems very accurate. This mod in particular could be a full-blown DLC; it adds 9 subclasses like in P&P, and look at 0:30 how many psychological disciplines it adds, according to mod page, it has 38 disciplines.

In P&P, animate weapon at high level can deal like its weapon damage + 7d10 force damage. And at lv 12, the psyker mysthic has 64 psi points, enough to use it 9 times. And using Psionic Mastery to use it at maximum STR, a animated weapon can dish its damage, a regular greatsword being manipulated with the power of mind this way can dish 2d6+9d10 and in late BG3 game, there is a huge abundange of powerful magical weapons.

EDIT : 12:29 - Knocking a enemy prone, with a CANTRIP. This class seems very OP.

There is even succubus class. I played it by a while, there is much to work, but there is also potential for unusual class with big internal changes during leveling.

Larian balancing is weak, it gets worse with class, spell and feats mods.

I'm planning on running the level 13-20 cap mod, just so that progression in chapter 3 doesn't stop and I get to try some multiclass builds with higher level features. Will need to implement some self-imposed "house rules" in order not to take away challenge though:

- No more than 12 levels in a single class(specially casting classes, spells beyond level 12 get absolutely broken in 5e in general)
- No custom classes or modded classes(which tend to be all overpowered compared to vanilla classes)
- No custom xp level progression(I think I read somewhere that you can reach level 15 to 16 by final fight if you get all experience in the game and remove the level cap)
- 18 cap on attributes(raising it to 20 or higherwith ASI or equipment verboten, mirror of loss absolutely haram, no deals with Hags)
- Barrelmancy verboten

I think decent challenge can be mantained, specially on the barrels part(which I used on my honor mode run and made quite a few challenging fights significantly easier - i.e: Raphael with soul pillars rigged with smokepowder before the fight)

Balance cultism destroys RPGs like equality cultism destroys societies IRL. Balance should never be put above fun and consistency of mechancis and lore. I play games for fun alone, if a class is overpowered or underpowered, is irrelevant, as longs I like playing with that class.

If you compare 5e tier 7/8/9 spells with AD&D or 3.5e, 5e versions are much, much weaker. Compare 5e weird with 3.5e weird. What happens in 5e is that monsters lost all powerful abilities hence is too hard for a DM to challenge a high level party.

What would be cool is if this game supported "alternative leveling", some adaptations of 3.5e has a hard level cap of 6 or 12 and you can only buy some specific ""feats"" after lv 6/12. Such system could work in BG3, and

I wanted a succubus companion, not a succubus class. She could be a Bard of a Enchantress. Just couldn't find any modded companion yet.

Can you really go through the game with no challenge? Just steamrolling everything? It is not so much about balance as it is about having some hard fights, maybe even dying in some(now that honor mode difficulty is not locked behind single save).

7th to 9th level spells are very powerful and even scaling 5 and 6th level spells to higher levels would trivialize this game. I don't think a 20th level say rogue or monk would be ridiculously overpowered in this game, but a caster? Certainly.

"Power word kill" is an example of a 9th level spell which is available to the player as a single use cast, and it is extremely powerful. Imagine casting that at will every fight - instantly killing enemies with less than 100 hitpoints with no saving throw involved.

Never said "no challenge". Challenge =/= Ballance.

I said that too much focus on balance produces shit like Pillows of Eternity and D&D 4e and bring Diablo 3 tier of homogenization. That said, in order to include tier 7/8/9 spells in BG3 in a way that wouldn't kill the game challenge, you would need to change so much stuff in the game that you would be essentially creating another game. But KoTC2 has the much stronger 3.5e version of this spells. And is a very challenging game. Everything that the PC can use, a NPC can use.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Drow stuff supposed to disintegrate once reaching the surface? So how come the Drow studded leather armor can be looted in the first area of the game?
