Is there an ending for this game like UFO Unknown/Xenonauts?

Or you just grind away for more fame and riches endlessly?

I don't really like "make your own fun" kind of games. Unless it's X3.

No.
You can retire at any moments and you get score ending but that is all.
That is not really all. There are also endgame crises that happen once you've built up enough renown and you've built up a solid roster of bros. The end of a crisis is a good time to retire.

While in sid meier pirates you have lost lost family to find to improve the ending in addition of rank, land and money. Still pirates have more score endings, here four very different endings instead based on score and many random individual endings.

Sarissofoi , I watched your two videos from yesterday. I like the idea of having a couple of guys equipped with knives from the start. I'm going to start my Expert soft-ironman playthrough today on the greddydevs map.

Can you post your ideal early game knife build for those of us too lazy to sit through a video?

Day 50, from a fortress with a few Weiderwhatevers + 4 lowest tier Nachs. Total of 19 enemies but half of them didn't even have weapons and I don't think I even dinged my armor.

Good Luck then
Map is nice
Sadly the nice separation would be gone with the noble war.

High Attack
High Fat
Recovery
perk of your choice
Backstabber
Dagger Mastery
Overwhelm
Nimble

But to be honest having early knives operators was more of low funds consequence and lack of cheap spears. Flails are more safe option early.

How was the difficulty on that? I saw it and wimped out, but need to go back to it. I'm excited that there's at least one fight with a huge mix of these monsters.

Archers killed one on first turn. Witches for some reason tried to charm my sergeant for first two turns and he resisted it and then cleaver guy with the help of unhold started killing before they hexed everyone. Last two were real bitches - they didn't break when i surrounded them so had to deal with hex.

Maybe it's time for me to retire. Have 180+k geld in company coffers, but nothing to spend on. Never met any cultists for hire so i'm locked from set. No luck with loot so i don't think i will manage monolith with current equip.

no melee + ranged def? also I would add the perk that lowers the injury bar. works wonders with puncture.

Had this fight, and it was rough, not for the mix of enemies (tho that does add) but because the 5 hexes could effectively turn at least 3 of my bros against me, and the issue became not killing my own dudes while trying to win the fight. Once they start putting the curse/hex on your guys for linked damage, it becomes an even bigger issue. I lost my sergeant in the fight, tho easily worth it since he was an okay Butcher background.

The dagger I got for it is very nice tho.

Indomitable makes unholds very easy to deal with, especially if you are into polearms/bows, tho I usually just indom + 2hander them up front.

Yep. I needed better armor. And slightly better rolls. Kanami missed almost all her attacks with 80+ chances.
Also necrosavants really fucked me up. Killed last one on turn 12 or 13 i think. Never had any problems with them in this run so i forgot how bad can this be. Really unlucky rolls. And ALL my attacks against them were with 60+ chances.

So now i need to share 200k geld with only 6 lvl 1 mercs.

Started new run. Seed: Sororitas. Starting companions are meh, but trade is... Oh boi... 2 salt mines(4 with small detours) 2 dye makers, gem mine. Amber and copper for small profits. All in one route around half of the map.
No wood for sale, but forest villages for hiring are here.

Started with beginner economy btw. I will be rich anyway vey soon so why bother with lower tools?

Basically it's like this. Also there is a small puddle of water at the veeeeery top of the map and there is village with wharf and amber to fund your travel if you want to get to another side of the world fast.

Early build not specialized one.
High MDef fairly obvious. No Ranged Def - shield and nimble is enough. Rsolve and HP welcome.
Full one would be mix macemam&daggerman and shieldman.

Never actually seen a loop of roads before usually game seeds are just linear with branches.

On my current run went through all the legendary locations, trying to get more cultists stuck at 3, cleared orcs/undead ends, rescued the melon mugger, recruited a pimp, still waiting for my 2 god damn bowyers to make a special bow, and basically just running around looking for special gear and waiting for noble house war to get that assassin bro. Kind of worn out of BB but hey least the dlc added quite a bit of content to explore.

Ok Bros, after the first experience with the DLC, let's rate two-handed weapons. I'll start:

  • Greatsword: 9 / 10 Never bad, clearly the best vs mobs with it's versatile AOEs, reliable with the hitchance bonus. The 'Queen of all trades', if you will. Against strong single targets you'd rather have any other 2H weapon (except the Flail) though.
  • Hammer: 8.5 / 10 Awesome vs armor, causes great, debuffing injuries, 100 % stagger for the normal attack puts almost every enemy at the back of the turn order, AOE often useful too.
  • Axe: 6.5 / 10 Highest single target damage (theoretically) and great vs shields. Doesn't cause as handy injuries or status effects as the hammer though and the AOE can rarely be used.
  • Mace: 5.5 / 10 A good debuff weapon against strong, single targets that are hard to debuff otherwise. No AOE though and the damage output isn't great either, a niche weapon.
  • Flail: 3 / 10 Clearly the weakest one. You shouldn't have problems with shields once you start using 2H weapons anyway, so that quality falls flat, damage is bad even with headshots and 30% stunchance not reliable. AOE - see Axe.

Not everything needs to be balanced, but if you want a niche for every weapon, buff the flail a bit. What do you think?
