I agree with Kayerts on this one. The big metal shields don't offer enough extra oomph for their fatigue penalty vs wooden orc shields and if you're using shields on specialists (the only folks who should be running with shields at a mid to high levels, IMO), the wooden ones last long enough and are pitifully easy to replace unless your strategy is to field 6+ mad axemen.
It is. Helmets are ok, armor kinda heavy. They're pretty flimsy. Warriors' metal shields are the super durable ones. Wooden shields are good vs goblins though, they're light, have +20 ranged defense and gobos have no way of destroying shields. The orc young's wooden shields are good for use against other orcs, since they last longer.
Edit: is ancient dead armor lootable? I don't think it was when I last played. I see they added it on the wiki.
But orc wooden shields are less durable than regular wooden shields, ranged def is irrelevant vs orcs and you get a bigger fatigue penalty. So why would you use them unless you have no access to normal wooden shields for some reason?
Is there a more satisfying feeling in the world decapitating and smashing heads off a negro
Agreed, I've found that giving one to your starting bro (the one with two stars in melee skill) before transitioning him into a 2handed greatsword later on was the best decision I took in my last campaign. As he quickly gets into the 70 melee skill range you end up getting a lot of intact bandit raider armor very early. This proved crucial in getting everyone decent armor and was also a very good winning strategy in many fights.Flails are damn good.
You forgot your hat?
Goodbye.
I have not visited this thread of a while, is this game game really comming out this Friday?

It's actually the critical hit of the game if you think about it. You have a chance for extra damage and you can increase it situationally etcAgreed, I've found that giving one to your starting bro (the one with two stars in melee skill) before transitioning him into a 2handed greatsword later on was the best decision I took in my last campaign. They really shouldn't make targeted headshots be a flail-only option.
I still disagree with all this % chance to hit head unintentionally.
It's very undependable and at times unhelpful due to how the armor work.
there should be a option to cap your frames cant remember. No reason to have your computer work for 200+fps.

Turns out that my 8 Gb of RAM was the bottleneck. Took my machine into the shop today, had diags run on it. Doubled the RAM to 16, and voila ! No copious fan noise during gaming !
