did this guy just say that for honor is a button masher but jedi knight is not? lmao.

You're trying too hard.

He explicity points out that the difference between the two is that For Honor locks you in combat against one other opponent, so you just have to worry about mashing the right sequence of buttons to win that one guy. In Jedi Knight however you are mashing those buttons to survive against five opponents at once, trying to position yourself and wait for an opportunity to get in a killing blow while not getting killed yourself, in an environment that allows for freeform movement.

If you can't tell the difference between the two examples, then you're the retard around here.

I know the difference of what he's talking about but his arguments are wrong. I haven't played for honor but I have seen that people can play the game without lock-on. Hell, I see videos of it. Then he makes a stupid point about how the game has combos like if that's a negative. he complains that you keep mashing X to win in For honor even though you keep mashing the left mouse button to win in jedi knight. There is little planning like he claims. he's dumb.

It's like comparing Devil May Cry to dark Souls.

Still complains about Dark Souls because he refuses to use a controller to play a console game because it was released on PC.

Game developers Quake Tournament is coming this week: https://www.pcgamesn.com/quake/battleborn-overwatch-quakeworld-developer-tournament-dice

At DICE 2017, London-based eSports organisers FaceIt are hosting their second annual QuakeWorld tournament. Assuming they get drawn together, Battleborn’s Randy Pitchford could finally have his chance to do what he’s probably wanted since May last year and kill Overwatch’s Jeff Kaplan - even if only in Quake.

Here’s the full list of players:
  • Jeffrey Kaplan - Blizzard
  • Randy Pitchford - Gearbox
  • Tim Willits - id Software
  • Ted Price - Insomniac Games
  • Sean Dunn - Sparkypants
  • Feargus Urquhart - Obsidian
  • Min Kim - Bonfire Studios
  • Shekhar Dhupelia - Wargaming
  • Leo Olebe - Facebook
  • Matt Firor - ZeniMax
  • David Wood - Bandai Namco
  • Niccolo Maisto - FaceIt
  • Sheloman Byrd - Tencent
  • Kate Edwards - IGDA
  • Patrick Hudson - Robot Entertainment
  • Steve Ellmore - Disbelief
Each will compete in a series of 1v1 tournament matches in QuakeWorld, an update to id Software's seminal 1996 shooter, Quake. QuakeWorld enhanced Quake's multiplayer features, enabling it to take advantage of the first decent internet connections and positioning it as perhaps the first truly online shooter.

The tournament will kick off on DICE’s main stage with the opening rounds on Wednesday, February 22. A winner will be crowned on Thursday, with the semis and final scheduled to take place from 3pm Pacific (11pm UK time). You can watch the livestream on FaceIt’s Twitch channel here.

Go Fragus!

Pretty sad that Facebook couldn't get Carmack to front for them

Worth a Buy shitting on modern first person shooters, talks a lot of good stuff about how AI and gameplay in modern games are fucking shit.

He's a poser shitting on them because it's fashionable to do so and gets views. He uses FEAR and HL2 as an example of good AI, lol.

Fear does have good ai. HL2 does not.

FEAR has dark, confined environments with 2 paths through each area. AI randomly takes one or the other path and people think its magic when something sneaks up and surprises them. Hardly good AI. I'd go so far as to say that HL2's AI is more impressive since it deals with open environments in a less scripted manner (though it does so poorly).

Also he literally says "you have such an advantage how can you not win" while playing FEAR, a game where you have slow motion cheats to let you headshot every AI in a room effortlessly before they can react.

lol terrible match. Feargus vs Patrick was pro gaming compared to that.

I think I've seen enough of this.

Oh no, so Sniper Elite 4 and and Tomb Raider have worst AI than FUCKING ARMA, what a shock!

There's plenty of stuff wrong with modern games, but a 30-minute rant comparing AAA popcorn games with niche European military simulators is just retarded.

But it should be the other way around. Niche games made by relatively small companies shouldn't have better AI than games with massive budgets. Obviously the retards buying these games don't care about anything other than what the marketing tells them, but that doesn't mean they should get away with it.

Chances are they all had a really great AI guy, but he had to hold back because the game was designed for idiots.

Take his Metal Gear 5 example... the AI has a ridiculously short sight range, but that's not because the programmer was shit, it's because it was intentionally designed that way. If it had a realistic line of sight, most people would never complete the first mission. The question is what's the game's goal & intended audience.

What he's doing is like screaming "OMG, RPGS NOWADAYS HAVE NO STATS! Just look at Skyrim, DA:I and Fallout 4! RPGs are dead!". Bro, why don't you just go play Underrail, AoD, D:OS, Dark Souls, Blackguards, Shadowrun, etc ? Shouldn't this guy be playing ARMA III instead of a game that sells itself on shooting nazis' balls?

OK, so where are FPSs today that have great AI? Where's the FPS equivalents of all those RPGs you listed?

Worth a buy has reviewed every souls game and is butthurt that has forced to use a controller since controllers are inferior to keyboard and mouse and all so he just dislikes dark souls:roll:

So I decided to watch Jeff Kaplan's segment in this video today about the creation of Overwatch

It turns out when they were making the maps, they wanted to make a Mexican map and they wanted a nice little town that looked picturesque so they decided to use google and just searched for colorful mexican town. They really loved a thumbnail they saw in that search, this one
https://www.google.gr/search?q=colo...76bSAhWDORQKHTxaB4YQ_AUICCgB&biw=1600&bih=791
Go6qzkR.jpg

So they made the Dorado map inspired by this picture, unfortunately none of the geniuses there at Blizzard thought to actually click on the fucking thumbnail and go that page until a couple of months after they finished the map because if they did they would go to this page

http://scribol.com/travel/cities-travel/10-most-colorful-towns-on-earth/

Yeah that town isn't in Mexico after all,it's a small town in Italy named Manarola

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manarola

:lol::lol::lol:
