That's why my PC doesn't auto-update.
When there is a new Windows update, I always wait 1-2 days before let it run.

It wasn't Microsoft's fault this time.
Crowdstrike had a little ooopsie.

Major Windows BSOD issue hits banks, airlines, and TV broadcasters

A faulty update from cybersecurity provider CrowdStrike is responsible for the global outage.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

1-2 days? Such a short time!
Until last year I was on Windows 7, which I hadn't updated since 2014. Yes, I had gone 10 years without a single Windows update.
I bought a new PC because the old one's hardware was failing, and am on Windows 10 now. While it doesn't let you deactivate updates entirely, I set it to the longest possible delay and make it ask before it updates.
I also have a Windows 11 laptop I got from my dad, which keeps nagging me about rebooting so it can install updates, but I just put it into hibernation mode instead of shutting it down and rebooting, delaying the useless updates indefinitely.

Windows updates are shit and the best course of action is to disable them entirely.

I think all i did was messing with group policy and some other settings. Was quite some time ago. There should be enough guides on how to do it.

Open world wouldn't be so bad if the devs did put some effort into making content for the worlds instead of the good ol fashioned ubicuck way of copy-pasting the same "COLLECT DIS N DAT" over a thousands of times.
It's clear that they don't have the resources nor willpower for that crap. Afaik, metro exodus did the semi open world thing fairly well. Not too big worlds and decently packed with "unique" shit to do.
