so, who knows, it might have something to offer.

Sure, DLCs.

Like shadowrun!
Shadowrun cost me $15 and I should be getting the DLC for free. This not so much. Additionally, is there a shitty AAA game that you aren't fanboying? You are worse than Morgoth.
I love this two-faced apologism.

Here's another classic one from the codex lately: Forced always online in Path of Exile is completely ok! Why? Because it's micro transition based! Now what was that thing that EA came in a shitstorm in just a while back? I wonder...

One of the retard-trap promo lures for games nowadays is to offer gifts if enough people pre-order the game before release. For the second milestone, several Bioshock-themed items will be given to TF2 players.

The thing is, it's only today that the milestone for the TF2 items was reached, 12 days before the game's release. I was actually hoping that they wouldn't reach the release milestone. But then again, I don't see any way for us consumers to really see how many are pre-ordering the game, so it could all just be made-up numbers by Valve.

And no, I have no hope that this game will be any good. I actually played Bioshock and enjoyed it until the theatre level ended, after that it became just... silly somehow. Sadly I also played the sequel, which is even worse.

And then ashamed of yourself you tried the final solution: suicide. But hey, you are the unkillable cat!

Nice story. Bro.

It's always like that, people are wary of the milestones not being reached until the last few days when everyone goes into "fuck it" mode and pre-order anyway. It's already 27% of the way through the final level (as in, roughly 30% since yesterday. Considering the time it took to reach the TF2 Hats milestone, that was really fast)

edit: exactly 30% atm

edit 2: aaand all rewards have been unlocked.

Well if there's hats Steam will buy it:balance:

I'm interested for the setting, but I'm so tired of shooters atm.

Those Steam preorder things are fuckin' rigged. It's just a really long animated .gif.

Re: Broshock Infantile
Is there any gameplay footage of this where the guy playing it doesn't have god-mode turned on for the combat?

Haven't played a new shooter since maybe Crysis 2... Looking forward to this. Yes it is a pale shadow of System Shock 2, but a shadow is better than nothing.

The XCOM award is kind of tempting since I plan on playing the game anyway but then again -- would a pre-order bonus of a punch to the nuts be tempting too? I don't remember hearing very nice things about it.

You will probably like playing through it once. Play it on classic/iron man/no tutorial for your first shot. The difficulty curve is front-loaded and the basic order of development has only minor variation so you won't enjoy a replay much, as you need enemies you've never seen before and iron man to have some tension in the midgame on. The impossible difficulty is stupid so don't bother.

Glad to see that the BioShock protagonists are still stupid enough to inject/drink any random dangerous-looking chemicals on a whim.

That was actually a fun trailer, if the entire game was like that and didn't take itself too seriously it could be alright. My guess is that's just the trailer, though, and the real thing will be just as "heady" and full of itself as ever.

Also, I am really fucking tired of John Everyman, the boring white male protagonist of every videogame ever, with his simpleton "I don't really understand anything except shooting the bad guys" mindset, and in this game they've turned him into even more of a redneck than usual. God damn it. It's like the developers just assume everyone who plays their game is in it for the 'splosions, sexy underaged schoolgirls and ball-numbing action, and have built a perfect representation of the idea power fantasy of their target audience.

The girl looks much older now than she used to before.

This game brings a new meaning to on-rail shooters eh. I hope its atleast for 10 hours.

The settings looks nice and personaly I like it more compared to underwater setting.

People making game trailers a-la film trailers, with tons of jump cuts, never showing a scene for longer than 2-3 seconds at a time should all be fed to crocodiles. Just saying.

Edit: On second thought, feed film trailer jump-cut clipmakers to the crocs too.

Ken Levine was too busy touring universities making speeches to design students as well as making vlogs about awesomeness.

Yeah, the gaming industry is weird like that. On one hand, you have the "must have annual releases" hysteria from major publishers. On the other hand, you have these inexplicably privileged "boutique studios" like Eidos Montreal or Irrational Games that sit on games for years and years, scrapping them again and again.

I don't understand it.

Btw the game is 18+ because it contains snuff porn elements or female abuse?
