What is this feeling called when you almost feel like crying about how brilliant the work of developers and story tellers has been translated into this beauty of a game? It's like an artistic sentiment. Crying about artistic beauty. Maybe frisson? I don't know but I am much more than impressed.

It's called being an emotionally and intellectually stunted sycophant.

My God, I haven't seen this game before, but those screens... :what:

What kind of tawdry kitsch is this...? Dear Lord, I haven't seen such a flanderization since... Fallout 3.

So yeah, it's art! as said by people who have a great taste in art, sure.

I am super annoyed you can't turn off resurrection and there is no quicksave to circumvent it. I mean no quicksave alone is rage worthy, but not being able to avoid the stupid back-to-life bullshit makes it even worse. Also pretty much every review says the game is even more linear and corridor-y than Bioshock but then says that's awesome? What?

The story is good though so best game ever!

God this fucking industry.

Apparently you can activate 1999 mode without beating the game. They actually did implement what they were joking about -- if you input the Konami code on the main menu, 1999 mode is unlocked. However, I haven't seen anything describing how to input the code on the PC version if you're not using a gamepad.

I would imagine it is whatever A, B, select and start equate to on a keyboard/mouse in the game's control list. Or I could plug in my pad to do the code and then unplug it.

Either way 1999 mode sounds like a disappointment anyway. It just limits money and raises enemy HP, from what I have read, which sounds more annoying than challenging. I want a mode that adds quicksave and removes resurrection, first and foremost, which is never going to happen.

I purchased the thing anyway to see what the fuss is all about. All I know is that this 1999 mode seems to be a blunder, the game seems to be super linear in both level design and actual choices, and that there is no quicksaving. The lack of quicksaving in Metro 2033 was okay-ish since the survival aspect was very important, but I honestly doubt Bioshock: Infinite has a lot of emphasis on that, so that's not really reassuring.

I don't mind checkpoints in linear games really, so if this one is more linear checkpoints are not my main issue. My main issue is I could avoid the stupid "you never die" crap in Bioshock by quickloading. They seem to have removed that ability now, and that irritates me.

Prey, a relatively decent FPS in an age of shite ones, was similarly ruined for me by the "you never die" mechanic. Call me crazy but games need to have fail states or they're just interactive movies.

I'm going to take to the high seas and try this out of sheer morbid curiosity. I couldn't even finish the original Bioshock without getting bored and giving up after 1/2 way through. I'm not really one for CINIMATIC AND ENGAGING experiences, even if the original game had an intriguing environment/story.

In one of the reviews i've read that there is 'numericaly quantified damage'. Sounds pretty much like SS2. Incline of BSI ? Maybe there is good game underneath after all.

Other reviews states that BSI and Levine is the Citizen Kane moment of gaming..
