"And Black Cat, Japanese have absolutely nothing to do with CRPG's."

All the new Dungeon Crawlers i did play in the last year or so were, like, japanese. All the ones who weren't had, like, ten years or some thingie like that. Not all of the japanese ones where good and stuffies, sure, but neither all of the old PC ones were, and at least they were true, honest to God and Codex, dungeon crawlers, not emo story stuffies and thingies and nya.

Japan has saved RPGs by copying a 30 year old formula.

Oh, Jesus almighty not another emo LARPer who think Dungeon Crawlers are a thing of the past and, like, role playing games now are about choices, consequences, and doing just what your make believe idea of your character would even when you are alone and no one bloody cares, nya. Actually, there's so much deferred success on that post deserve a double nya, so nya and more nya.

Go play Oblivion and let us play those old school games with obsolete formulas, even more nya.

And fuck you.

@ Emotional Vampire

Really? I thought this was a thread about, like, role playing games, not about LARP simulators for people without friends with whom to LARP as God ruled in the old times, nya.

As i said before it is the japanese who saved the genre, nya.

As I(and many other people actually) said before TITS OR GTFO.

Don't drag us into your obsession with BC's tits, EV.

Use the Search function noob

Why should I? Checking your postcount is enough.
Shit, I remember the times when trolls were at least funny... :decline:

Also: Subject did not react to indirect question about nationality (takes notes).

Wow! "adults". Way to shoot myself in the foot. What was your point again and how does my postcount relate? Oh rite, you're just trying that TROLLAN thing. Well knock yourself out, kiddo.

I remember waiting for Baldur's Gate. I was a Fallout/Fallout2 fan then and I expected Baldur's Gate to be like Fallout, but much better - I used to believe that progress something obvious back then.
Multiple quest solutions depending on character stats, stat checks in dialogues, multiple solutions to the main quest, interesting, glitch-free combat. More roleplaying.
That's what I was waiting for and that's what wasn't in Baldur's Gate. I couldn't believe how outdated this game was. Yeah, and how messy was the combat system.

Thanks Bioware. You saved the genre from the massive incline brought by Fallout and Fallout 2.

I guess that's why it took you so long to reply, 90 minutes of searching, 10 seconds of copypasting

Thats not to mention what BG did for D&D and the Forgotten Realms. Of coarse Wotc didn't take advantage of it. They went out of their way to literally kill the Forgotten Realms. Almost all of the BG NPCs are dead now.

Can you give me a link to prove this? It sounds pretty disappointing...

Actually I was screwing your mom for 60 minutes. If not for that, I would find this great sheek's thread faster :(

Anyway, sorry but I have to go, a nurse came in with my medication.

I wonder what those of you with children think of when such "minor" members of this perverted community are sexually "harassed" here. What would you think if your teenager signed up here one day and (s)he was subjected to sexual slurs everytime (s)he posted. Do share.

While at it, state the age and sex of your offspring too.

Yeah, BG was definitely a big deal back then. Other than that, the big RPGs were Pokemon, FFVII, and Diablo.
Not as big as Diablo.

Diablo's proof that BG did not save the genre from a dearth of popularity. Fallout's proof that quality RPGs were still being made, and making a profit - the genre was not that close to death.

"Diablo: released Jan 2, 1997 "

Not a RPG.
BG's not so different to Diablo.

They advanced the FR timeline 100 years so everything but Elves, young Dwarfs/Gnomes and humans with magical life support are dead.

Their main justification was that players were relying on well known NPCs to save them. Its was some BS like that. Like a DM cant cover that.

Oh and BG had better combat than FO and Diablo. And better graphics too for wh a t th a t ' s w o r t h.

Awww, did you really have to reveal my little lie, sheek?
Sorry that I dragged you into this, but I had to use some established Codex e-persona to win my mighty battle against EV.

But don't worry, you'll probably have a chance to anal-probe my sorry ass in Tails's U:EU LP. :(

Only when playing F/M/T, otherwise it was a choice between a boring, non-interactive fighter-type or a spellcaster that runs out of spells very fast.
I remember having to add special abilities to my character to be actually able to enjoy the combat a bit.
Then there was a question of the mess and glitches.
Self-guided non-magical projectiles, Mirror Image that protects from area damage but not from poison, ghoul paralysis, etc.

I wouldn't go so far - it had strong RPG elements, but they were painfully outdated when it came out.
