The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst :argh:

Is this the hunter in the Cathedral where Amelia is? You either gotta:

a) git gud and JUST DO IT
b) whittle his health down, let him whittle yours, exit cathedral, farm blood vials, return for the final ko then get 1 shotted :P
c) lure him to the stairs, equip your cheese grater

I just befriended Djura even though he did shoot at me with his machine gun when I was doing my initial run through Old Yharnam. [How else would I get to the Beast?] Now, I went to him after killing Paarl and he was friendly. This contradicts some stuff on the wiki...

edit: not really. Oh well.

Killed the Moon Presence. The design of this game was awesome!

The saw cleaver, in its short, deadly fast form. With my previous character I had so much trouble with hunters, somehow I haven't realised the bit about serrated weapons... the cleaver is fantastic against beasts and humanoids. For stuff like Ebrietas or Mergo's nurse I used Ludwig's.

I'm think of learning how to use the Stake Driver, the R2 extending attack looks fun. Shame about the scaling.

I couldn't get into bloodborne like i did into souls, it must be the lack of shields, i cannot play without shield.

I did manage to beat the asshole a little bit after posting this message. I managed to do quite well doing a legit 1on1 against him but when I was down to my last Blood Vial I ran away and he came after me and bugged out so I cheesed the rest of his health. Was a pretty shitty fight though and I'll be happy to never ever do it again. Right now I have a Skill/Blood build and I'm using the Blade of Mercy and Evelyn. Wrecks fucking everything. Amygdala was a piece of cake just by popping the nigga with my gun. The Blade of Mercy is probably the best weapon in the game, certainly the absolute best one I've found thus far. There's not a single weapon that begins to even come close to how good it is. It's insane. The whole move set for this weapon is beyond godly and I don't think FROM has ever made a weapon where every single move is actually useful. I just cannot praise this weapon enough.

I liked Eileen's Blades on 1V1 but didn't find them appropriate for mobs. I do like the moveset though. My fav weps are probs: Whip=Axe>Eileen's Baldes.

The Axe, along with its tranformation, has my fav fav fav moveset.

It's like an essence of a Souls game: the minimal amount of items making different playstyles available (but unfortunately not too different), and I don't think there's a single less inspired level there: it's top design quality all the way, even if the game may be shorter because of that.

It's also a lot faster and promotes aggression

It's got nothing to do with the DS games basically. Just familiar (but worse) mechanics in a completely bland setting. You'd think it still sounds like a good game, but it's not.

I bought an entire PS4 for this and I'm disappointed.

Yeah, I also bought PS4 for this (...and to play Witcher 3 in my couch in my living room), which might distort my perspective (I want to believe the game is fantastic ;)). While, as I said, the level design is top notch, I don't think BB will become a timeless classic. It doesn't seem to be replayable enough.

(There's a lot of hidden stuff you can miss, exploration can really pay off. This at least it has in common with the Souls games...)

It's more like Dark Souls 1 than either Demons' or DS2 (i.e. idea web level design). It's got fantastic monster design, combat has never felt this good (Hunter Axe, I LOVE YOU). If you missed the creepiness of Latria, BB's endgame will please. The "parry" system is really really fun.

Cons: bosses feel samey, PVP is rare, chalice dungeons are a bore grind. PVP is p. lame since healing is super quick.

I will Day1 the dlc 4 sure.

Meh, got my hopes up for nothing.

The League is a band of Hunters who have taken an oath and are bound by a single purpose. By aligning yourself to The League, led by a mysterious figure in a constable’s garb and bucket helmet, you can assist other players online in the game and compete in The League’s online rankings leaderboard.

Content gated behind the online paywall.

In addition to The League, players will also be able to use The League cane and summon co-op NPCs within the game, perfect for tackling challenging areas and bosses.

Not real content, just adding an Easy mode.

Surprised that they are adding another more "legit" Moonlight Sword with the expac. Maybe Miyazaki felt that Ludwig's Holy Blade was a too obscure reference for most players.

At this point (where we seem to know almost everything about The Old Hunters DLC) it's kind of wishful thinking, but I sure wish they'd implement a beast transformation mode with interesting mechanics. Beast Claws were hell of a teaser.

Also, since this is my first post ITT: This game is uber-awesome. Took out the bad taste that DS2 had left in my mouth... I get a strong Demon's Souls vibe, but different enough that got me hooked instantly. The level design. The weapons...

I'm a bit horrified to say that after finishing it once I'm not so terribly eager to replay it immediately, unlike with, say, DS1...

In your opinion does it have to do with quality/preference, or is it more a matter of burnout.

I kind of felt the same way (even though I did a no-leveling run after). Stat/weapon/gear progression is shit. Lack of variety and it feels a lot more like generic action compared to Souls. The thought of doing chalices again is horrifying. The only thing that kept me going was a bit of unfamiliarity with bosses/areas. After the no-level run I had all the moves/timings burnt into my mind though (not sure about now).
