It'll be called 'The Old Hunters' so I'm guessing it'll be kinda standalone considering the timeframe of the game takes place many many years after the original hunters workshop closed down. I'm wondering if the Powder Kegs and Old Yarnahms demise will make some kind of appearence but its kinda early to speculate further.

Looks like it will be mostly new weapons + changes to chalice dungeons to make them more varied if the flaming Cleric Beast is anything to go by.

Really glad that we will visit the clock tower.
There's also orphans tending to the flowers in lumenflower garden, beast claws are capable of some new abilities and overall it seems to be more like an expansion pack than a simple dlc.
My only wish is ability to spawn bell maidens in all areas all the time.

I'm tired of all that souls stuff or I have too many games to play right now, so I'm not very excited about the Expansion and DaS III.

Do not like the conveyor approach.

Help a nigga out. I just killed the Blood-Starved Beast and am wondering when or where I get a new Skill weapon from. The novelty of the Cane whip has ended and the weapon is pretty boring.

The cane is actually probably the most reliable all-round skill weapon in the game. There are other good contenders but they will take some time. The Blade of Mercy you fet from completing Eileen the Crows quest, the Burial Blade you get from defeating Gherman, the Chikage you get from the Cainhurst badge once you talk to queen Annilise.

Actually! Did you get the powder keg badge? The rifle spear may be just what you're looking for. I think there might be one right in Old Yarnahm but my memory is a bit fuzzy.

if you're going Dex then Eileen's dual blades are ok (for bosses or one on one). The whip, along with the axe, are my favorite weapons.

If you want a little more umph, I'd go for the powder kegger's arm-thing (stake driver)

Is it just me or does the whip cleaver seem to have a wider range than the Cane?

Anyway, I'll give the Stake Driver and the Rifle Spear a try. My problem with the Cane isn't that it's not good, it is, it does quite respectable damage, it just feels rather vanilla to me. The Cane is literally a 1h Sword and the Whip is kinda cool but I haven't used it so often. The nerfed damage and no charge attack with the Whip makes its usage kinda limited imo.

Edit: Stake Driver is a no-go since it requires too much of an investment in Strength. I could try the Rifle Spear since I'm one Bloodtinge away from using it. I helped out that Eileen granny kill Henryk but then I realized that I could've gotten her weapon had I let her die. Pretty annoyed about that now.. Anyway, killed Vicar Amelia and the Witch of Hemwick now. The Witch of Hemwick was a pretty devious/annoying boss fight.

There's really nothing better in the game than saw cleaver/spear. The 1x damage modifier, serrated bonus and speed are just 2 gud.

1HR1s are too slow on the axe. Saw Cleaver just lets you spam R1s and transform attacks with 0 thought.

Axe/Ludwig/Kirk are good for slow windup attacks.

Axe is great thanks to fully charged r2 in axe mode which causes heavy poise damage and pancakes, l2 in transformed mode which is a wide sweep with hyperarmor/great range and has one of the best charged attacks.
Although i would say that burial blade is the real top-tier for both pvp and pve. Its charged attack is just crazy. It can send Watchers flying from a good distance away, making farm for top physical gems really easy, it trivializes any boss fight because it has viable attacks for every range and angle. You can safely keep a huge distance from defiled hotdog and kite it with charged R2 and L2, for example. It also has great rally potential and enough hyperarmor on transform attacks to poise through chikage spam

I've tried a couple weapons and so far I like the Threaded Cane the most. The Saw Spear, for example, in its spear form is too slow for my taste and has a funky move set that leaves lots of wide openings for the enemy to come and attack. I also don't like how doing the Charge Attack from point blank range can end up missing the enemy due to wonky hit tracking. The Threaded Cane is an elegant tool and this new perspective has made me appreciate the weapon a lot more. I've finally found the Whip form to be a great asset as well now that I'm in the Forbidden Forest and fighting against those snakes. Jesus Christ those snakes are horrifying if you get too close.

Yeah the whip form with the Empty Phantasm Shell = pure bliss. I think you find the shell at Byergenwerth I'd suggest upgrading Arcane enough to be able to use it you won't regret it.

The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst :argh:. Long ass fight where if I make even one little mistake he'll be able to kill me even at full health in an instant. I'm getting too tired for this kind of faggotry.
