Surely my little love-taps helped out a little bit. :smug:
Going from 1500 odd TV to about 1000 might alter one's play style a little, yes.

If anyone has ever been beaten by Shuma it is quite cathartic to watch Dirk's Game against him.

The double 1's on that dodge, and the double 1's on that pickup... tough breaks, Stormlock. Hang in there, man, you really should have had that one.

@OSK: Yeah, at moments it's painful to watch the once glorious Robber Barons in their current state. You had a lot of luck there, especially with
the gutter runner failing the dodge and dying when he was just about to score, and the ball falling straight into Your Thrower's hands. Or the double 1s on rat pick-up in scoring range.
Anyway, it was an entertaining match. Lots of turnovers. Good to see Morg 'n' Thorg used properly for once (at least in the first half).

@Shuma: Why on Earth did You hire the rat-ogre? I think Your team, with its playstyle, fared much better without the dumb brute. The bad luck You got on armor & injury rolls must have been a punishment by Nuffle for adding that abomination to Your roster.

@Grunker:I'm still in Ghent and I'll be going back in the evening. I think I can make it to my computer by 22. Is it OK? Please wait if I'm not there - I'll definitely be back today. Or tell me if you'd prefer to play tomorrow.

Me and Pussycat669 (aka Basti50) have played our match. It turned out to be a noob game, full of stupid mistakes (some of them rather spectacular), hero play and 1d blocking. If someone's in for cheap laughs, the replay can provide those, I think.

Replay link (also added to the all-replay zip file).

The write-up might follow.

Ghent? Stop going to Belgium and play Blood Bowl, dammit! Is that 22:00 GMT+2? Because I can do with 21:00 GMT+1 no problem. Later than 22:00 GMT+1 is gonna be a problem though.

By the way, MicoSelva, this has been a petty annoyance of mine for some time; Your ErfWorld-quote is spelled wrong. It's "If life gives you crap"

It's now 14:42 here so it seems it's GMT +2. I'll do my best to be at home at 22:00, so I guess it's 21:00 GMT +1.

Sorry for the trouble!

No worries Elwro. GMT+1 21:00 should be no problem at all. 22:00 is cutting it close, but still possible :)

Thanks. I must be getting old, or blind, to have not noticed it for so long. Corrected now.

Goddamnit. Due to unforeseen circumstances it might happen I'll only leave this place at 19:00 GMT +2, so I'll be at the Utrecht central station at 21:00 GMT +1, and at my place half an hour later. Deeply sorry for that, Grunker, I hope we'll manage to play today, and if not, I'll do my best to play at the time that's convenient for you early next week. (This week has been crazy.)

So you'll be home 21:30 GMT+1? That's ok I guess. Just see if you can avoid being later than that :)

We didn't play but I have prepared a write-up anyway.

So, I left to Ghent on Friday to give a talk at the university and visit an old buddy of mine. 30 beers, 1 bottle of rum and one bottle of vodka later, i.e. today at lunch, the buddy asks if I'd like to stay one day more. And I reply that it'd would be fine and all, but I have an important meeting and I have to be in Utrecht 10 p.m. at the latest. So I hurry to the train station. In Antwerp I have 3 minutes to change the trains so I run like a madman through the station and catch the one to Rotterdam. It's almost full and we're all like sardines in a can. 100 m after Antwerp the train stops and we're told that the power car broke down. Of course, the conditioning was also down and the windows were closed shut. After 30 minutes one of the train operators came and opened one small window. I thought I was going to pass out.

So, they fixed the power car after an HOUR goddamnit and I already knew I'd be late for the match with Grunker. But after Dordrecht we stopped AGAIN because supposedly someone pulled the emergency brake. So again one of the operators had to squeeze his way through the whole train to see which of the brakes had been pulled. Turned all the brakes were intact and it seems the monitors in the power car falsely indicated that someone had pulled one of them.

Then in Rotterdam it seemed like half the country wanted to board the train to Utrecht and the police had to watch over everyone. Thankfully I followed a fine Negro lady I met on the train from Antwerp who told me to go to the 1st class since the train was full anyway; all the losers were trying to squeeze through the 2nd class door and I was all :smug: looking at them from the inside. So, dear lady whose name I will never know, thank you again for the good idea which saved me an hour (I think) of waiting at the station.

Grunker and me will play tomorrow, we have already talked about this on Steam.

Mangoose Vs ManT!

Mangoose was kind enough to join the league after our first drop out decided to go AWOL and he was rewarded with some blood, a couple of fouls and a bit of nap time.

The games starts with Mangoose buying Morg n Thorg (MnT) and some budweisser babes with his wopping 540,000 cash incentive. Me? I woulda gone <insert expensive item> and a bribe or two. Always get a bribe....

Anyhow I receive the ball and already I am deciding on who I want to crowd surf when a pitch invasion just owns both of our teams. A good 40% of the players on the pitch just get knocked to the ground. Bleh! That aside it was a pretty uneventful first half - MnT was useless, a few pansy elves got knocked out and injured or cowd surfed (except for those annoying little bitches with sidestep) and my ball carrier pushes right up the pitch. It was around here where magoose decides life sucks and goes all emo on me and doesn't pick up any of his players. Me? I'd blitz with MnT every chance I could get to see if I could injure players but Mangoose decides that he would rather protect his TV1000 team for the next match. So I foul a player and run it in. Wastes one up.

In the second half I kick off and get a perfect defence so i position my players so that MnT can only hit my useless troll (and continue to do so for the rest of the game), Mangoose proceeds to knock down my players and slowly pushes up the field. At some point I decide that all the PrE players have a MV of 6 and I decide to go on the offensive leaving a little gap in my defence. Mangoose then moves his MV8 Catcher through this giant gap and I am looking at egg.

It is all down to my runner now - he has to dodge out of a tackle zone and blitz this bastard or I get scored against. After a reroll he knocks the pansy elf on his arse. My thrower then comes in, scoops up the ball and runs it up the field (he isn't called 'Can't throw' for nothing). MnT at this stage in the game is still useless. After some more fouling and whacking I run the ball in on turn sixteen for a two zip win.

4 - nil, bitch. And I would have kept a perfect defensive record if Fluffy hadn't been a twat and failed to punch that Saurus in the face.

Nice writeup, Mantiis. I will appreciate, if You upload the replay too. Thanks in advance.

@Elwro: I see that Dutch trains are very similar to Polish ones. And here I thought the state of our railway services is jusitified by us being a third world Europe. Does what You described happen often, or it was some kind of an exception, and usually it's ok?

@UP: Enjoy Your perfect record while it lasts, as You're playing against my Khemri next I'm sure someone will beat Your Chaos eventually.

I hope your Tomb Guardians are ready to regenerate all those limbs I'm going to claw off.

If they can, then maybe they'll be able play against my Furries. :smug:

Yeah, those Claw guys are first on my to-hit list.
I'm not really expecting to win, as You're holding all the cards here, as I see it. Except maybe lack of Regeneration on Your players. If I'm lucky I may reduce Your team's numbers enough to walk in some late touchdown. We'll see.

He is in the Eurofag bracket which is easier than the Kwa bracket.

I've only had splendid experiences with the trains inside Holland. But both times I took the Rotterdam - Antwerp train it was bad. The train was extremely packed in both cases and the conditioning wasn't so good - in fact yes, it did remind me of some journeys I took in Poland. But in Poland I never had to wait for an hour because the power car broke down :) The people weren't annoyed at this and only let out a few sighs. I don't know, maybe it means they take it easy, or maybe this happens often...
