1.05 patch altered the graphics. Film effects were toned down, which some might prefer, but also the LOD distance was lowered to help processor load, which causes annoying pop-in. I downloaded 1.04 last night, not sure if I'll bother switching or not yet. Gonna look into LOD expanding mods.
You can increase the settings with a nexus mod, "unlock" hidden global illumination setting and also LOD. Be careful of placebo though, the first iteration of the mod had everyone reporting how it made the game run better or looked better but it turned out that setting the unlocked settings to Ultra/Psycho simply made them revert back to Low.

I fell for this bullshit and turned out the mod did absolutely nothing. Definitely not downloading any such mods again, waste of time. The game already looks amazing on max settings anyway
Lots of people talking about it in the patch threads on Steam and various other forums, but CDPR did not say anything about it to my knowledge so I guess it depends on what you consider "confirmation." If you had the game on high/ultra before though, just play it and you'll see. There's a lot more low quality assets visible mid-range than there was before.
Most of them are at least somewhat awkward, because something looks a bit off. Then again, the Panam scene was actually quite okay for what it was.
I don't really expect anything from video game sex scenes. At best, they are halfway pleasant, at worst (or is it?) you just have something to laugh at. For actual sex, look elsewhere.
At least they don't waste much of your time with this in this game.
The first Mass Effect had decent sex scenes because they were quick flashes that didn't linger on polygonal humping cringe. At least I remember them being that way.
Yes this apparently still works, though I don't know what value corresponds to what the release version of the game used. I'd rather not go above that for performance reasons. I guess just experiment with it.
Finished it, had a fun time no Disco Elysium but I'll try to forgive it for that.
Hot takes:
- played on hard, glass cannon hacker sneaky person. Fun-ish in the sense that I could kill everyone almost instantly often without moving inside the building. Last boss was a cakewalk.
- Silverhand is a irredeemable narcissist, the only reason he becomes less so is because of the commingling of his brain with the less-of-an-asshole V. And even with that he only shifts his value from HARDCORE EDGY ROCKERBOY to selfless martyr hero
If he takes over V's body the chip'll probably continue the overwrite and return him to his asshole ways, the way he was when he was engramed.
- Game is most compelling when it's being affecting, Evelyn, Barry, Mama Welles and the Peralezes are standout moments. And the Passion guy.
- They did some clever things with sooome of the characters, like Judy and Silverhand. Judy because you might think you're doing the right thing by just doing what she wants because that's how all games are right? but unless you're boning (well, whatever the inversion boning is. Clamming?) her and running out of the city she winds up happier if she leaves. With Johnny the is-he-redeemed-or-is-this-still-about-himself-he's-just-changed-the-manner-of-self-involvement thing is well done.
- Kerry is the best romance don't @ first game you can fuck a 90 year old on a flaming boat.
- I want the cat that may or may not be ghost cat.
- Arasaka did nothing wrong. They aren't even the most morally depraved example of corporate greed IN THE GAME lol.
- I liiike the inclusion of spiritual elements but the execution is inconsistent. Alt is bad. Misty/the tarots are good. The cat is good (all cats are good). The zen master is eh.
- The
Mikoshi
ending is actually the most hopeful ending (I also haven't played this ending yet tho so).
- I literally don't understand what Rogue saw in Johnny, I do not get it. Maybe he had a silver schlong too.
- I deserved a Mr Stud.
- I liked some of the music, the ending theme (the Sun) one I got was nice and the cover of Never Fade Away and there's this theme that plays around 6th street people that just gets under my skin in a bad way but that's good.
- I can't drive but managed to win all those races cuz what even is the AI.
- Game played decently even on my rig that barely (or doesn't) reach min reqs, plays less stuttery than BG3
- Like the screenshot functionality but it's clunky:
- If they canonize
it's probably gonna be V volunarily giving the body to Johnny which SUCKS ASS (and not in a good way)
By the way, I had been looking at RAM usage during my last play. Largest I saw was 6.3 GB, while "Commit" was at 8.2 GB, which probably means there must have been spikes that high that I missed.

Did they just downgrade the game with the new patch ? Lod got fucked hard even on the highest settings (and there is no easy ini edits like in the twitcher cause everything is hidden) Im done with this game see guys you when goty edition comes out with tons of mods (if they dont ban them). I had almost 0 pop in on 1.04 now shit is materializing before my eyes they are adding more trash to the fire
New patch tanked my performance again, I don't know what is happening at this point. I had 35-45 on 1.03, then 20-30 on 1.04, now it's sub 20 most of the time
Nevermind that, Rogue DLC when
I just did the quest Dream On and really loved it, doesn't seem there is a continuation so maybe it will be part of an expansion for the secret organization or something, would be kinda cool to see more update about the Peralezes.

I made a quick test of this and it either doesn't work at all or works in specific circumstances which I can't reproduce. I tried driving down a boulevard and watch for billboards popping in. They were popping in at the same place with and without the mod. If you have any evidence of the mod working which you can confirm for yourself, go ahead.
I posted three screenshots just a couple of pages ago. Do you see a downgrade?

Finished the game. I liked the characters/story and I did get mileage of the game but it felt unfinished much in the same way like another game(a space sim) that was also incredibly hyped/delayed called Freelancer did back in 2003. Freelancer was basically promised to have all of these features/questlines and other stuff that was completely cut out once they had to ship the game. (Another reason to not fucking trust Chris Roberts with anything, I mean did you see the Wing Commander movie, jesus fucking christ what even was that)
But I liked the game much in the way I liked those kinda point in click story adventure titles. Honestly I think they need to make more linear story focused games and focus on that instead of attempting to make an overly ambitious open world title(Witcher 3 was already proof enough that they couldn't exactly handle those open world mechanics without serious limitations)
There's just something, besides the really great graphics and art design(Night City is probably the best looking city I've seen in a game of this type) that just screams early to mid 2000s to me in terms of game design and I can't fully articulate why that is.
Ultimately I would say to get this game once the issues have been ironed out and a few dlcs have been released and a few of the game systems have been retooled. I got this game on a sale so I'm not feeling the angry buyers remorse a bunch of redditors are feeling. Also i think the looter shooter mechanics are obviously to prep the game systems for the inevitable microtransaction-filled hellscape spinoff of this game that will eventually probably be co produced by tencent a year or two down the line.

Scope creep is one of the worst things that can happen to devs. Not sure when the switch was made to turn CP2077 into a GTA competitor, but it failed laughably at that.
All they had to do was just planarize New Vegas lol
Militech = Legion; Arasaka = NCR; and then have Johnny's Crew be Mr. House/independent route. Have the game be about trying to do something about the chip and also getting certain gangs on your side.
How could this game have suffered from feature creep when the finished product has less features than what was promised in the earliest information about it?
Installed the patch and the game ran like absolute shit. Spent about an hour messing with settings and reinstalling drivers before I realized there was a second instance of the game running. Apparently Alt-F4 does not properly exit the game.
General complaints and nitpicks
-Need either a flashlight or night-vision modes. Really baffling these do not exist.
-I don't know anything about the source material but I can't believe there's no cyberware for boosting your movement speed.
-Car-purchase map markers should be a different color from the quest markers, ffs.
-Change the category of valuable junk to misc. so you don't auto-scrap them with the scrapper perk (probably lost tens of thousands of cyberbucks because of this).
-Really, does armor actually do anything?
-Pretty sure evasion does nothing too. I should have 15-20% evasion by stats and mods but the stat screen always shows 1. No visible indicator when an attack has been 'evaded?'
-Found the sewer casino mission and all the roulette tables were missing wheels. Fucking pathetic.
-I kind of hate all the assault rifles. Either locked to burst fire or auto, semi-auto is restricted to 'precision rifles' with low magazine. Select fire has been a thing for decades guys. Why no mods to increase magazine capacity?
-May as well scale lowbie enemies up to your level to keep challenge consistent, I hate that the player's level scales damage. Same problem as twitcher 3.
