Incidentally, once you finish all the apprenticeship quests for one master and get declared a master yourself, you can sign with a different one and do their questline as well.
*record skip*

Wait. Wut? So you don't just mean the old Fallout trick of go through all the intro but not-committal quests before choosing a master? But actually go through, pick a master, become a master and then.. you can apprentice with the others and do their quests?

Yeah the latter. You complete the entire questline for one master in the city and you can go apprentice to another.

In the case of the alchemy master he actually outright tells you that you can go work for another master after you've done his entire questline.

You can still sell him potions for more money as well.

I assumed you'd be locked to one master for the entire game.

Any of you who are guards and past Chapter 3. Is it worth buying knights armor for 12k shekels in Ch4 or i can get something from Roderich for free later?

lol just lost all me progress of chapter 3,around 10 hours....just sad
Always maintain multiple save slots, everyone. I get a save corruption about every 10 hours on average.

I've been lucky so far in my 40 hours and haven't had a corrupt save yet, though I'm saving in 5 different slots as I know from experience it can happen with Gothic games.

Only showstopper I've had so far was towards the end of Chapter 3 there is a bit after you speak to the governor where Ivy asks if you want to walk back to Volker with her. I told her I'd meet her there and then I couldn't finish the quest when speaking to Volker.

Reloaded save and told her I'd join her and she seemed to teleport away but was waiting in Volker's room. The quest completed successfully that time.

Save corruption?

If it was, it's a good reminder to use multiple save slots, as you should with every RPG.

It's rare but it happens with the Gothic engine.
It seems like it,tho it didn't crash when i saved it. It is pretty weird lol. Also it seems that it corrupts a saves made after it too. Pretty sloppy job.

Well i do use a few different slots and quick save,me fucking it up was because i tried to quick save on top of the save and fucked up both the quick save slot and the original slot. Now i will have to run around and just on with god mode to get back to it. Shame that i can't alt tab and use cheat engine to speed up the game. The funny thing is that the game got corrupt when quit to change the option to borderlesswindow so i could alt tab.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I haven't had a single save corruption in 30 hours but I keep 4 rolling save slots and always overwrite the oldest.

EDIT:
And I don't use the quicksaves at all. They're too unstable.

Yeah quick saves are super unreliable in G2. They disabled it and made it an ini editing only feature for a reason.

Never use quicksave this is what corrupted your save. Im using manual saves for 50h and they didnt corrupt once.
Nah,the save is corrupted when you save while the error is occurring. I have more than 50 hours of gameplay and didn't have a save corruption till now,and it was on a regular save and not on a quick save lol. If anything, the quick save could save your arse.

It's recommended to be left off by most world of gothic forum veterans including the guy that developed the systempack.

Do as you will though.

Well i replayed the game like 10 times and never had problems with the quick save. It is mostly an excuses of the modders, the same with disappearing picks and axes lol. They fucked up and instead saying 'lol sorry it is just a problem we can't fix at them moment' they are all 'the original had the same bug too'. Yet i haven't lost items in me 500 hours of gameplay in the original, nor i had me save corrupted.

It hasn't happened to me frequently with Notr but I've had it more than once over the years.

It usually crashes during the saving in those instances. It's a well known enough issue that it gets threads over on the world of gothic forums.

The problem is not the fucking quick save but the crash in itself. When the game crashes during a save process it fucks the save file because it is already overwritten but buggy information and not complete. That have nothing to do with being a quicksave or a manual save lol. They turned it off because it is comfortable, thus people forget to make manual saves and end up with a single long game save that if it gets corrupted makes people butthurt more. They fixed the problem in risen games in a very simple way,by making more than one quick saves. They should have tried to mod that in to the game to fix the problem. Five quick save slots is pretty good thing.

So in the end blaming the muh quick save is just ignorant and lacks any logic lol. Quick saves are not different in any way to manual saves lol.

No offence, but I'll trust what people that have actually worked with the engine say and keep it off.

As I said earlier, do as you will.

Eh, game's aren't made in a vacuum. I think this sort of context helps evaluate value proposition. Maybe you think it's weird to share a personal detail like that, except Sawyer himself shared his salary on social media so...
Fair. If he's bringing this stuff up himself in public then that's significantly less psycho.
