If Firaxis is including the Cree then I want to see the Tupi, the Tupi were far bigger than the Cree ever dreamed of, the Tupi could be found as far as Rio Grande do Sul and as north as Pará and Amapá. The Cree were little fish compared to the Tupi.

Firaxis is in deep trouble now:

Accusations of cultural appropriation is deeply disturbing and they should warrant a immediate payout to your closest friendly Cree casino.

The nomadic natives really didn't understand the concept of land ownership.

One thing I always wanted in Civ is a proper way to display nomadic civilizations, with few or no cities, constant mobility, etc. Those nomads living on the margins of civilization were important players for millenia and they should't play like normal civs, at least not until they choose to settle down.

But then again, this is post-Civ IV Firaxis here, there's probably no more creative brains there, just people playing it by the numbers. for casuals.

And people wonder why Paradox is coming to rule the strategy scene nowdays

$12 what a steal

But who is the one stealing and the one being stolen from? That, is the true question.

Why the fuck did they make Queen Tamar dark-skinned?

I'm pretty sure they lazily re-purposed an existing Native American female model and then called it the Holy Queen of All-Georgia, whose skin was as pale as snow, lips as red as a rose.

Nuke CVI from orbit.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Can't believe that this company once made Alpha Centauri.

Because its not, I think the only one from that time who is still there is Sid.
SMAC was a Brian Reynolds' design, I they only put the SM part of AC for branding.

Honestly, I think the decline was already there since Civilization III, IV was an anomaly and it only became truly great with Beyond the Sword.
Brian Reynold later perfected his design in Cityville 2 and Dominations. These are the true heirs to SMAC. :negative:

The art style was a warning sign but with the original civs you at least eventually got used to it. If you wanted to stay sane you had to disable the leader animations anyway.
The ones they've shown so far seem like a conscious effort to make the game look worse, especially the administrators. To say nothing of the goddamn mechanics.

I really wouldn't care how the leaders look AT ALL if the game played well and most importantly had good AI.

Are there any modern 4Xes with good AI?
Apparently, no. GalCiv2 tried at least... But since then the retardation of the AI is only getting worse afaik. I don't get this really. The whole point of 4Xes is to play single player. If the AI can't even play the game what's the point after the initial learning curve? I'm repeating my self I guess but...

Most customers won't even pass initial learning curve, nobody cares, get lost nerd.

Civ is a game for 12yo to play with their dad anyway, in Civ VI they they don't even pretend anymore.
It's silly to bitch about this kiddy shit.

Ai is getting worse because 4x game designers don't play their own game or other 4 x game whatsoever.Simple balance things that can make the ai better require a good player's knowledge. Most of these 4x designer go home to play candy crush or something, strategy games are way above their skill level.
Edit:Civ 6 expansion designer and lead was impressed by somebody just being able to properly put districts to maximize their effectiveness. That is the state of modern game design when it comes to aaa.
Oh and indies have their own problems. They either never finish a game or just abandon it as soon as they release it.
Minus some fan projects, distant worlds and aurora you ain't getting anything good.
