Can you go back to The Pit after entering the Habitat, or is it a one way ticket?

I sided with Jonas, btw.
You can, but a number of the quests will expire permanently.

finished. end was surprisingly boring with you just walking from A to B to talk a bit. Id welcome aod teleportation in here. Not sure what traveling to habitat serve just to talk to any door and start being teleported?
Or that nav room requiring you to walk past few zones with nothing in them

Rushed development. A lot of potential wasted, sadly, this game would be the masterpiece if it combined combat quality of Dungeon rats with AoD exploration, writing and setting.
Not enough money to write dialogues. Buy 10 copies of this game

Solo melee hurts. I planned for a Berserker build after a full combat party sans me who was a talker but I don't see how I'm going to add it, my dude is barely hitting things in Chapter 1 with me Tagging Blunt, adding a skillpoint, taking all accuracy and skill XP feats while being in almost every fight. I don't remember AoD having so many issues with THC on a dedicated combat character. I can see things being much better on a solo ranged character, both in terms of damage and THC. Hell, if I went with shotguns that work well both in melee and at midrange(which is most of the fights) I could have dumped STR and played the same way, which is bumrushing the strongest dude in melee. Blunt also eats your AP, two aimed hits or 3 regular ones and you SHOULD pick aimed hits otherwise you miss too much. How I'm supposed to go for big two-handed hammers that have a malus to Accuracy is beyond me. I'm using grenades in all but the easiest fights like I'm playing a AoD hybrid instead of using them for truly hard fights.

Granted my perception is trash, only 5 with Eye Implant, but this build is a rerun from my previous character who had good perception but dealt low damage, courtesy of 6 STR using Bladed. Feels like he faced the same THC problems. This is obviously a large part of my problem when it comes to THC since I thought going all in on feats/combat will mitigate low PER, I'm afraid if it's just the case with combat in general being a miss-fest that is compensated by having 4 people shoot.
Asking those who already did solo melee runs:
-Is Blunt straight up worse than Blades on a solo character with similar stats due to increased AP cost?
-Minimum PER that you would need to make this feel like a fight and not a slugfest between two blind people?
-How to decide when to add Berserker(and would you even use it on Blunt, starting to feel it's for high STR and PER Bladed characters that want to spam regular knoife/axe attacks)?
-When do you switch to big hammers?
I'm an eternal lurker so I'm not sure where to post the screenshot, I'll type this build out.

Stats:
11*/8/9*/5*/6/4(Eye, Heart, Motor and Spine implants, going for feat to add Skin implant)
Skills:
Blunt 7(113 Acc)
Feats:
Juggernaut, Lone Wolf, Warrior, Basher, Educated(for Biotech to add Skin Implant, missing 6 XP to level up)

Need an input from those who finished melee runs, are they gimped from the start or is my build very wrong. I haven't delved into things like Gladiator for better graze hits/reaction, might be the missing ingredient. Build idea was a tank that jumps into the fray, resisting most attacks via armor and healing back enough from Heart Implant to outlast enemies. Stims and granades on harder encounters. So far I'm missing a ton, barely doing damage even on enemies I hit frequently enough due limited hits from high AP cost, enemies ,including mooks, melt me(this got better with top-tier armor, I imagine Skin Implant will help even more). Thank you in advance.

This is a weird explanation for a game that took 7 years to make. And money is a strange excuse as well - did Age of Decadence, the game made by a couple of retards from No Mutants Allowed because they didn't like fallout 3, have some massive financial backing that enabled it to be so much better than this?

I don't even dislike colony ship, it just feels like kind of a wet fart after AoD. I was hoping for growth and instead I got contraction and excuses.

Out of curiosity, I checked how many players reached the Habitat, and the achievement sits at 5,7%. Either people are playing slowly, or getting filtered.

Average Colony Ship dialogue:

"The exxers just came back from Deck Oogabaloo where they ran into the y-ers who were going into the Butthurt Regulation Central, but the zoomers ambushed them along the way and took their electric sinusotangential implants deeper into the auxiliary engine pods, so you better watch out."

just had a thought, colonoscopy ship is like game of thrones for me.
Kept playing EA in various phases. Those were the first episodes.
Stopped 1 year ago when habitat was introduced to enjoy release properly.
Now release came and its like watching daenerys finally coming over with her dragons.

I wonder if this turning to sci fi setting is for gaining more audience, since soys love sci fi. But in the end it pleased no one. Sequel to this setting would be the last nail to the coffin
The planet they arrive on is age of decadence, it's desert too. This was a prequel

I've decided I need to start over with a different character. I'm thinking about taking Gifted. My experience with the combat demo was that you are much better off maxing out a stat and taking the related perk. But it is tempting to take for the main campaign where a wide range of skills are needed. Is this still a trap option?

Are you going solo or party?

An educated mastermind lone wolf, for example, can keep up with 2/3 of skillchecks with some metaknowledge (the AOD kind, you know). For a first run with party members the party would take care of the spread. I'd still specialise when in doubt.

I want a full party so I was putting eight in charisma, tagging pistol and persuasion and putting initial points in pistol, persuasion, armor and streetwise. I was also maxing out agility and taking fast runner (because this was my favorite feat in the demo). I was thinking of ditching fast runner and going with gifted.

For a game being made by a guy in his 50s, it sure feels like a zoomer game, in how you zip and zoom from quest to quest. No attention span drops here. BEEP BEEP!
VD's in his 50s?

... and he's not old and tired like Vogel???

How!?

Fast Runner is really, really bad, since Evasion is bad. Juggernaut is probably the strongest feat period, followed by Healing Factor (less for the healing and more just because having every piece of cyberware is hugely powerful). Dodge This! is good but by endgame you won't really miss the difference between 60% and 80% crit chance.

I think it's not just the writing, there's something about the layout of the text, not sure if it's the vertical format, font spacing or color, but whenever there's a block of text it's hard for me to read, once I get to the middle it becomes a jumble of words. I don't have such issues here or anywhere else for that matter, and the font here is smaller.

Unrelated, anyone know if Master Trader is worth it? The exclusive items don't seem to be worth it and most have alternative checks. The 25% discount doesn't seem to be worth it either, it'd have to save at least an overclock's worth of credits but I don't feel like I'll be buying 8k worth of items.

Perception is a lot more important this time around. In earlier builds of the game it was fine to start at base Per and supplement it with old Warrior feat and ocular implant; these days you have to invest into Per stat to be semi-competent in battle. I myself am still trying to figure out the sweet spot for Per, as for your build though, subtract one point from Int and put it into your Per stat. You can then add a +1 to Int from Datajack implant. For Educated feat I'd switch that out for Precise Strike since you're relying on aimed attacks more often. I don't need to say this but just in case, in the early game you always want to start off with aimed legs - Precise Strike feat will give you THC bonuses for aimed legs; however, as you get further into the game the aimed legs attack becomes less of a priority as you'll have more than enough Per to do other types of attacks. Another thing is that the game will shower you with a few ocular implant upgrades that will further increase accuracy. Lastly, make sure you're wearing googles that grant bonus THC too. Also instead of Bionic I'd get Tough Bastard or True Grit - you will need some defensive feat.

For weapons don't use two handed hammer, it is kind of suck. I myself use the super light blunts: Utility Bar, Blackjack, Expandable Baton, etc.

I think I got 2 "unique" equipment thanks to it. One of the is a respirator and the other was 20+ energy cells. That alone worth the feat imho. Edit: But I think it overlaps with persuasion? You can get similar extras with just being persuasive.

You can also get a nice rifle in the Habitat, but it will cost you an arm and a leg 1800 credits. Don't remember if it was energy rifle or not. I did not have the credits on me at the time.

Go straight to the point instead of writing a Pillars of Eternity like post.

Is the game shit or not?

In the bottom right of the Shuttle Bay, there is a door that requires lock picking, but there is no actual way to go there? It is located directly south east from where you arrive in the Shuttle Bay.

Also, I am siding with the Church in this run.
