No! I have been bad, and people must know about it! *whips self*

Here's another one: not too long ago, I paid $10 to the PlayStation store for Faggot Age: Cisquisition to play through the entire game for the first time in my life. Might also be the first time in my life I paid for a biowhore game. AND IT WAS FOR CISQUISITION!!

I've played through VtMB with every clan at least once.

I quit Arx Fatalis after a few hours because I got bored.

Not counting one or two replays, I haven't played a cRPG since 2020. :(

I cheat at character generation to unlock more in-game content.

I purposefully avoid playing my favorite cRPG Planescape: Torment until I forget as much of the game as possible, in-line with the story's thematic element of amnesia.

Most RPG's I start I never intend to finish. My ratio of started games to finished ones must be something like 100:1. I tend to start over a lot and try different characters though. I guess I don't want the adventure to end, I'm retarded like that.

I cannot into games where the whole point is buildporn (hello, Underrail).

I am a graphics whore and can't play games that don't appeal to me visually. This only goes for art direction etc. and not for technology. PC graphics peaked in the early 90's and that's my gold standard.

I suck terribly at deep combat and will instead go for the RNG or cheese if I discover any.

I jacked off to a model of Nymph from Neverwinter Nights by looking at it in Aurora Toolset.
Specifically not the portrait,

I've never played VTMB.

I've always wanted to, I never saw it in stores like arcanum or toee. So I never bought it. Later on I did buy it off ebay with the intention of playing it, but then I needed money so I sold it. Now I own it on steam, I have it installed but haven't gotten around to playing it.

Also since people are talking about jerking off to neverwinter nights portraits. I had sex for the first time before I masturbaited for the first time. I am also still with the woman I lost my virginity to(and took hers in the process).

I never liked System Shock 2
System Shock 2 can't decide if it wants to be a survival horror game or an FPS and it ruins the entire experience. Enemies aren't strong enough and are too numerous to be threatening or scary, but the scarcity of ammo and healing items makes playing the game like a boomer shooter a slog. Atmosphere and writing is still top-notch but the actual gameplay sucks.
While I completed Fallout 1 several times I never completed Fallout 2. First try I got stuck at some door that wouldn’t open (I remember checking a Gamesfaq guide and I was supposed to be able to open it), second try the game always crashed when travelling to that Enclave base (no idea what it’s name was).
This was me but in reverse, I've beat Fallout 2 multiple times but I've only beat Fallout 1 once about a year ago. Was too dumb to progress in Fallout 1 when I was a kid.

As for actual confessions that will probably perturb some people:

Planescape and Disco Elysium are my favorite CRPGs

I have never completed and have no interest in any CRPGs that use D&D combat rules (excluding Planescape). This includes the first two Baldurs Gate games. D&D combat sucks and RTWP makes it even worse.

I have dozens, maybe hundreds, of hours in Morrowind and I have never finished the main quest line. Same thing for Oblivion and Skyrim, although I have less hours in both.

People get mad when I point this out but SS2 is very much a precursor to the modern 'walk down a corridor while a voice on the radio tells you what to do' shooter. It was disappointing to me since the first game was so open, there was no voice helping you at all (Shodan only talked to you to be cruel). It was a challenge to figure out how to even survive, let alone win.

I think the reason SS2 feels like a survival horror is because the only challenge that matters in it is resource management, which is typical for resident evil games. SS2 was definitely not made nor marketed as survival horror and was only classified that way after the fact. The game doesn't even have most of the hallmarks the 'ImmSim' genre would become known for--almost no alternate paths, no alternate solutions to objectives, no reactivity, not really even any ventilation ducts to bypass a locked door. The skill system is so tightly linked to story progress it hardly matters, and you only ever do exactly what the voice in your head says. The only choice that matters is whether you waste points on useless PSI and what weapons to pick. It has small and cramped levels and doesn't really use the strengths of the Dark engine (lighting, stealth, and guard AI).

You compare it to Thief 2, released a year later, and the difference is astounding with its huge, sprawling levels and massive freedom, despite being a linear level-based game. Or Deus Ex which has alternate paths and solutions to almost everything.

Part of why SS2 feels so schizophrenic is because it's very presentation is discordant.

If Irrational wanted the game to be a true horror they should've made the game substantially darker, like in the ballpark of Thief 1 or Unreal. Enemies, too, are surreal looking but they're not truly scary. The Many is a fairly straightforward evil alien, SHODAN is an evil AI, and comically defanged compared to her first incarnation. The grunts all talk and jeer and taunt like 1950s mooks.

When I think of SS2 I tend to think.flashing colored lights, screeching techno and, "SiLeNcE tHe DiScOrD!"

You know what the final straw with System Shock 2 was for me? The reload system. If you run out of one type of ammo, the one you're currently using obviously, and you hit the "reload" key, it does nothing. Absolutely nothing. Typically this happens when you're in combat, which is the absolutely worst time for your reload key to just stop working. There were a few other things that I didn't like about System Shock 2, but this one really pissed me off.

You know what's better than no ammo? ANY type of ammo. I don't care how it picks it if I'm getting ready to die because I've effectively been disarmed. You can pick the ammo of which I have the most amount, the cheapest ammo, or even the next best ammo for the situation. Fuck, pick an ammo at random for all I care, because that beats having to open up the inventory and select another type in the middle of combat.

Sometimes I smoke meth and play phone-games and masturbate until my dick is raw and my dopamine production is absolutely fried then I call up people I used to go to school with from a burner phone and harass them with a Christian Bale Batman voice.

I'm just thinking about the number of people ITT blaspheming against SS2 and how LGS shut down a year later. This is why we can't have nice things.

Completed Planescape: Torment only once.
Tried multiple times but couldn't get into Morrowind or Arx Fatalis.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker gave me a choice paralysis.
