Shit like these tick me off. Is Forced Vassalization Casus Belli some super secret knowledge that can be only learned from the fabled Necronomicon?
Is is to obscure I need a whole perk to unlocked it?
It is equally retarded like in Stellaris when you are a science based civilization exploring the stars and gaining all the knowledge they can hoard but can't study a ring world because they don't have the perk needed.
It was retarded in Stellaris and it is retarded here.
Perks should give bonuses, stat increases, help in dice rolls and not be cockblocking you.
I swear to Allah for every good ideas in this game there three bad ones.

I don't see the problem. You need to be versed in law and diplomacy to make your forced vassalization appear legitimate and be accepted by your peers.

I disagree. Perks which just give +1 are boring. Perks which give you new abilities and options are better.

I just had an ironman game over losing all my titles out of nowhere. No revocation, no war, nothing. Just gone in an instance.
No heir from dynastie probably, had it happen to me stealthily, one granddaughter inherited and was not married matrineally , so kids were not from dynastie few dies in a row and blammo whole playthrough was fucked up.

No, the character didn't die, he was still alive after the game over (and there would have been dynastic heirs available). I think it must have been a bug. And since he held 2 duchies and several counties, I don't think it was a forced revocation of the titles by the liege (with no chance to rebel).

You have your court to do that for you. Most rulers relied on their support structure to figure it out for them. No King was an island. Such a basic feature shouldn't be gated. Especially that it doesn't make much sense.

Ok, but it should be special abilities not locking away the standard ones. If under the perk was something like special swaying option, or a special claim fabrication option that is different then the normal one sure, that's fine. This is just getting the normal roster of options and putting them away behind perks. It's decline.

So aside from hooks the espionage and interpersonal stuff is still super lame. Perhaps in a DLC Paradox will add a real system for generating loyal vassals and friends and all that stuff. Then again whats his name on the Plaza said they won't. So what exactly are they planning to DLC if not that? Glad I didn't pre-order.

My last king of Poland was quite fun, his reign started during war for duchy of ostmark started by his father so he could create kingdom of pomerania.
War was actually almost finished but then king of bohemia declared war on me for some county. I said ok and i finished last war and went to battle.
But then claimant started civil war, my pagan subjects revolted and my only ally, king of hungary gets invaded by hre because some czech duke had claim on hungarian crown. It cost me a lot of time and save scumming ( once hungary was even invaded by byzantium), many times czech war was invalidated, hungary incorporated into hre, liberty faction revolted and second claimant faction revolted.
Finally i did it, i imprisoned first claimant and released him without claims, agreed to lower crown authority, won war against czechs with help from 2 freshly allied hungarian dukes, destroyed revolters and hre didnt invade hungary.
By that moment it was like 5 years of constant wars. After that i denounced second claimant and every time his faction declared war it somehow got invalidated. Finally claimant war happened and somehow i did it and won even though revolters army was twice as big as my. And then crusade started, i joined with half of my army and went to holy land.
During my crusade my ally king of Hungary died and his heir lost war against hre and got incorporated. Pagans revolted again and i got small peasant uprising.
In Holy land my king destroyed two armies of saracens and quickly conquered 4 counties (one full onager and perk engineered destruction will make siege last 24 days instead of 5 months) . Crusade ended and my aunt became queen of Jerusalem. My home army destroyed one revolter army and i allied with king of denmark so he would help me to clean this mess. When my second army with my ruler finally reached home, king of denmark started war with norwegians. I sent my first army to Norway and my king eradicated pagan rebels. King of denmark won and my 1st army returned just to join my vassal conquest of prussia ( fucker turned my borders into border gore).
We won and some peasants rebelled, they had small armies but one army was in Szczecin and other was in Cieszyn. And then king of ruthenia invaded.
I defeated him and created first holy order in whole game, then it was peace...
No
I needed to conquer duchy of nordmark, it was controlled by hre, hre was allied with kingdom of Sweden and kingdom of ruthenia. I had only one ally, croatia.
So i started that war.
I expected king of ruthenia to attack my eastern borders and my armies to be overhelmed by hre armies. Nothing happened, i sieged two counties and finally i saw enemy army. That army only had 2k soldiers compared to my 5k army so it got destroyed. I sieged rugen, one other county and then i finally saw ruthenian army.
That moron instead of attacking my unguarded borders tried to transport his armies to rugen through baltic sea. Of course i went there and welcomed him with my army. His ass was beated hard and i returned to conquering, i beated then many other hre armies and one swedish with good maneuvering and small help from croatian forces that finally arrived. For almost whole war i was only looking on that one duchy that i was conquering, and then when i had almost won i looked from bigger perspective...
It was like cancer, 1/5 of my kingdom and whole kingdom of bohemia was under kingdom of jerusalem (whose ruler was a muslim), hre was ravaged by border gore and many dukes and counties were suddenly independent. I was like wtf is happening? Probably some inheritance shenanigans + my aunt lost holy land to goat fuckers. I finished that war and started another one so i could clean that shit. After many months i did it and i had peace for few years, then in a series of 3 wars i usurped kingdom of bohemia.
Finally after 40 years of rule, King Mieszko II (actually III ) united west slavs, year later he died and his weak heir now fights with gigantic rebellion.

China, Japan, maybe the rest of the subsaharan primitives, republics, maybe theocracies. In short, more content rather than better content. It's been their policy for years.

That's weird. The game ought to tell you how your old character died and what happened to the new one. Was it on ironman? If not, try loading as someone else and check title history.

Yeah. Getting the titles is easy. Keeping them is the real challenge in the game. I redirected Crusade from the Holy Land (Jerusalem) to Spain to recapture it from Muslim hands. My kinsman became the King, but he's pretty much losing it all at the moment. I guess I will have to capture it piece by piece, Duchy by Duchy by winning it for the Holy Roman Empire.

I'm impressed by the number of shapes of tits that the female characters are hiding under all those dresses. Surely, someone spent a hell lot of time rendering them.

So I started a game in 867 as Alfred of Wessex and formed England as Alfred the Great as intended.

Few first crusades didn't go well because of the AI ancient technique of going one after another and dying out of attrition in the middle of mesopotamia. Third crusade was the charm though and the crusaders were so successful, I almost didn't make it in time. I besieged the capital of the caliph and got immediately pushed to first contributor, on top of capturing the whole harem of the abbassid.
I then returned to Lunden as a victorious crusader after leaving one of my daughters as Queen of Jerusalem. There, I asked every wife of the caliph to join my court in exchange of their freedom before seducing every single one of them, effectively turning his harem into mine.

I.. Have I beaten the game ? What is even there to be done after that ?

Default portraits are too dim and greyed out despite the models being very good.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/comments/2216544773

Follow these instructions (this mod makes them a little too bright) and they look perfect

For anyone who thinks the portraits are too bright, you can adjust this by going to:

(Steam)\steamapps\workshop\content\1158310\2216544773\gfx\portraits

and edit the file jomini_environment.txt , line 4:

value_scale = 1.35 # Light multiplier

Change this to something like 1.15, I found this to be a good value, looks much nicer.

Dont worry, you can recrusade the crusade after your granddaughters convert to Islam

I do like how this crusader kings game 3 is more gamey. AI does a better job to keep you from constantly having things go your way.

That's true, but your support structure is still really important. Your council contributes a large amount to your stat/skill points and skilled councilors are better at their jobs and get more positive events in general. It's just that particular instance is your king is so charismatic and diplomatic that he can make a casus belli of "You should be my bitch. That's a good thing, and here's why:" and make it appear legitimate. You aren't pressing a claim, and you aren't even fabricating a claim, you're just making a convincing enough argument that someone should be your underling that you make it look like a convincing war. Which I could see making sense as a leader-only perk, since your councilmen can fabricate claims to give you a supposed legitimate reason to take a title, but force vassalization would imply more direct work from your character since you don't even have a (Fake) legitimate reason for war, you're just bullshitting and making the nobility and your peers/the pope buy it.

I'm impressed by the number of shapes of tits that the female characters are hiding under all those dresses. Surely, someone spent a hell lot of time rendering them.
I appreciate it. My only regret is not playing a viking so I can go out raiding to capture milk trucks.
