I liked the sex cards. They're pretty to look at. Plus they made the chicks more unique as Witcher only had like 5 female models.

Not very fond of the 3D sex though. It looks awkward and robotic, not to mention the lack of boob physics. Plus they really reduced the number of women Geralt could plow, he's a real wimp on W2.

And you know what's really fucked up? The way you think that it's fucked up that several other potatoes share my point of view. Which, you know, is valid and pretty well-augmented with arguments;)
My MBTI personality type is Mort mixed with Nameless One. I must also confess I have a strange taste for non-cliched fantasy and sf. My blood type is RPG+. There, happy now?
And what part of Potatoland are u? Is there a high density of Sapkowski's worshippers there, or are you all alone writing your rights and wrongs on KKK?;)

I think that holding video games up to the standard of either [not having sex in them at all because it's 'not relevant to the plot'] or something to the extent of [making it a porno if sex is featured in any way] is somewhat of a black & white view. .
Tommy, it's as I've said: if the sex scene has a meaning for the story, it's OK. I won't be covering my eyes. Take for example the rape scenes in Once Upon a Time in America. They (especially the one in the car) tell us some important things about Noodles' character. But if the scene is irrelevant to the story, it doesn't add to the character or mood of the film/game, just throw it away, FFS. There are no reasons for having sex scenes in Twitcher other that getting trophy cards and getting teens' attention.

But Geralt being Man whore is revelant to the story given the fact he is both sterile and clean. No surprise psudo medieval womyn digs him a lot. Not to mention to be realistic you would have to cutt of all those Sorceress and their feminist lodge, on the other hand every town had bath house and/or inn which were legal brothels. You can't have XX century feminist fantasy in Sapkowski books and whine about boobs. Choices and Consequences bitches.

Have you read the books? There was plenty of sex with Geralt/Dandelion fucking their fair share of princesses, bar maids and sorceresses.

Dandelion because he's a smooth player (deceives women by appearing romantic and chivalrous) and Geralt because unlike most folk of the age he doesn't have to worry about venereal diseases or angry family members beating him up for despoiling women's virginity.

Well I agree that being a man whore is certainly more relevant to the plot for CD Potatoes. But neither the sex scenes nor the cards are relevant to the story in any way. Sex was never that important in Sapkowski's books, it wasn't getting in your eyes.

Have you read my post? YES HE FUCKS THEM IN BOOKS BUT NOT IN DOZENS. Besides, the major difference is the sex scenes in books are handled always in more or less funny way and Sapkowski never shows Geralt as a collector. Yes, they may be cheesy to some, but still aren't that bad. Sapkowski's use of humour is a redeeming quality for having a sex scene. But MOST OF THE TIME THERE ARE NO SEX SCENES in Sapol's books. When it's fucking time, he writes something along the lines: "And they were in love, they were gentle to each other, she was to him, he was to her, blah blah blah, etc." So, there aren't many proper sex scenes in books really. I only remember like 2 or 3 of them. If there are some Sapkologists over here they can list them love scenes and alter the number. I vaguely remember some lesbian stuff starring Ciri, but yeah, vaguely. Was there any pussy licking?

I've read lots of pulp books in my time and I know the sex scenes can be written much worse than in Sapkowski's books. But in games, you can't possibly get worse than CD Potatoes and Biowhores. There's NO redeeming quality for player in poorly made cutscenes and fantasy playmate cards. Unless, of course, one wants to spank the monkey while looking at them. Also in books there were no collectible cards or scored chick illustrations...

I'm not that angry because "ohmygosh he has a dick and he uses it", but because they show it so awkardly and he's collecting them fantasy bitches. Speaking of which, Twitcher has such awful dialogs at times, it's a wonder he gets laid that often. I guess it's must be TWitcherous power of his sterilized dick that's spreading their legs or something.

And I don't care for Dandelion in Twitcher, because he isn't collecting any cards and fortunately, you don't get to see his sex scenes.

I agree that Geralt being Butcher Pete - which probably was on purpose of making him more badass/manly/Conan/James Bond - in the manner of collecting pussy trophies turned out immature and high schoolish (hell, maybe even sexist), both in terms of execution as well as the sole idea. That's why, literally and non-literally, I didn't give a single fuck about the cards and ignored the whole thing carrying on with my life and game... You're getting all edgy about it as if someone collected your card.

I know there's no going back to 1990s "sensibility" but hey folks... grandpa Fallout showed everyone how to do *IT* both funny and sensibly. Don't go all graphic, real time and slo-mo, unless there's a VERY GOOD reason**** for it, or unless you're making a hentai game. Just...
"Before you fuck, fade to black".*****
Ya hear me, CD Potatoes and their followers? Because you know, fading to black leaves something to, uh, pardon my French, imagination.
Then imagine your 2D character banging a 2D chick, or a pre-rendered sex scene in Fallout; actually, there was a whole lot of things left for imagination that are nowadays a standard (for good or bad). The first sex cutscene I recall seeing is from Gothic II bordello and I don't remember anyone buttshouting about it (though it was rather a subtle one). I don't buy the "OMG tities I'm offended fade it to black" shit; there are more or less detailed/subtle banging moments in movies and books, so why should games be an exception? I feel more offended if a game for mature audience exposes all sorts of violence, yet bans nudity and sex like it's some mind-raping tentacle monster. I even like TWitchers as far as the "yeah, there are nude chicks in our games, so fuckin' what?" goes and I see a huge difference between masserrectish ass straight into your face camera angles and sex scenes from TW2 which felt pretty normal.

Also, don't get what's your problem with the model as she's fine looking woman to me.

No, you don't understand. It shouldn't even be there, that's my point.

It's the same thing again. You people either didn't read or you didn't get my posts.
First of all: IF IT'S IRRELEVANT TO THE PLOT, IT SHOULDN'T BE THERE.
Secondly, if it's gonna be awkward, juvenile, as you said, immature kind of shit - cut it out, FFS! Unless you're making a hentai game, which won't do without sex scenes etc.

Hey, I don't even remember Gothic 2 sex scenes, and I've finished the game... Perhaps it shows there wasn't that many of them? Or were they treated in more subtle way. And there were no sex cards awarded...

TWitcher sex, Mass Effect sex. Potayto, potahto. Shouldn't be there, if it's unrelevant to the plot and doesn't add to the mood. It subtracts from the mood. It's making game immature.

Yeah, basically, if you can't write and/or direct a good sex scene, then fade to black or GTFO.

Also, don't get what's your problem with the model as she's fine looking woman to me.

She's silicon augmented.
I could agree that the augmentation aspect fits into cyberpunk;) But certainly not in the golden-glittery pretentious way that was shown in teaser.
Funny thing is, almost all of you Twitcher sex scene and colletible card defenders here are : xs.
Kinda sad, really. Turns out other nations aren't so in love with CD Potatoes' creations, I guess.

A newfag being a faggot, whodda thunk
A hentai bihop basher thinking he's an oldfag, being registered in 2009, whodda thunk.

Shouldn't or not it was, so what? You don't like the idea, I get it, I really do, but it's nothing to shout wall of text about.

Why should it be specifically relevant to the plot and not the setting? I can't imagine prostitution being uncommon in a post nuclear realms e.g.

Even if she is (can't tell myself) it's nothing over the top:
http://www.best-topmodel.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/Kasia-Danysz2.jpg
And she's a model.

It's actually an adaptation of the illustration from the original game manual:

Not to mention it would be difficult to show augmentations otherwise.

The sex in Witcher is really no more immature than the porn star stuff in Fallout 2.
It's just more titillating because the graphics are high fidelity enough to actually show tits.

Is that an important, qualitative difference? That's an interesting question.

I'd rather have normal sex scenes, even of arguable quality, than: female soldiers/reporters wearing whorish silicon suits, robots with pussies, obligatory ass close-ups, invasive faggotery and any other shit that looks totally out of place.

A high standard indeed

My problem with that trailer is that it makes it seem like you will play a fascist futurecop delivering headshots to sexy future spree killer/terrorists rather than a cyberpunk

Um, but that's a storyboard panel for the CGI teaser...

Usually, working on video game cutscenes involves creating a visual story in an already established world: the animation process is very orderly, divided into classic stages, and predictable. This time around, it was markedly different. The first drafts of the screenplay and preliminary concept art was created when the game was still in initial stages of core development. In the course of our collaboration with CD Projekt RED, we approached dozens of ideas before settling on a seemingly freeze-framed setting that referenced one of the illustrations from the original game manual.

There's little to discuss here. It will be Witcher 40k with all the nudity, amazing acting and graphics you would expect from the studio. But it will be ridiculously demanding on the system with a convoluted combat system. At the end of the day it'll be just just your run of the mill AAA Arpg.

I will be happily playing Shadowrun and not give a shit, really. Both popas and gents getting their share of punk. Everyone's happy.

It'll hardly be a run-of-the-mill ARPG considering they will be using mostly the same rules as the new pnp edition. Or at least enough that they said you'll be able to print your sheet and play with it...

That is actually a pretty good point. The fact that, potentially, we're approaching a time when we'll actually be able to choose from two similar things is almost unnerving
