PoE looks and feels amazing, only retards with brains infested with WoW could say that combat in D3 felt more impactful and to be excited for D3 with dark filter and Lost Trash mechanics.

That is how it looks first 1% of the gametime.
This is how it looks for other 99%:

PoE has its own charm, but not the original models for sure, they are ugly as sin so you go buy the fucking MTXs.

As for D4 I don't expect anything special, just another game that I will probably play 1-2 months at best and never see it again. Its AAA game so expect fast food tier shit on it.

Can you guys even pay attention to that in the middle of all the effects, objects and monsters that get thrown at you? After a couple of minutes I am not even paying attention to the models or the animations, and really might as well be playing in ASCII using an '@' for the character for that matter. In fact, that probably would at least make it clearer where my character is.

Depends on the build, Spectral Helix, Rage Vortex and Boneshatter are pretty clean visual wise. But if you go spellcaster route its a fucking eye bleeding experience with how many effects are going on.

Both D3 and PoE look terrible. It's irrelevant whether one terribly ugly thing looks slightly less terribly ugly than another terribly ugly thing. Diablo-likes peaked visually with D2 with glide wrapper, with perspective on. Divine Divinity looks decent too.

I think D2 didn't look too hot either, to be honest. D1 could get quite confusing, of course, but it did have some pretty cool art.

D1 is great but it's not a "Diablo-like"

Sure, it is. It is just slower paced but in the end, you can mow down hordes just as well, especially as a Sorcerer.

Diablo III was destined to be shit; either by the hands of original team or nuBlizzard's. Here is an interview with Max Schaffer (co-founder of Blizzard North / Condor) about the development of Diablo III :

" MAX SCHAEFER: We wanted to make it a bigger… we actually were going a more MMO route with it. So, it had more players in the game. But, we were very early and it’s the point in a project where you don’t talk to the public about it because so much can change and so much can go on. There’s lots and lots of things that go on at game companies that never hit the light of day, because it’s just too early to really sit and things are subject to change all the time. So, we may have changed our own path radically had we kept going with it. "

Speaking of Diablo 3... Even before dyke haircut simulator did we need any more evidence that the Troika boys would ever make a good game?

Speaking of Diablo 3
Boyarsky was brought aboard to work on the game back in 06 when development was rebooted and they had completely different aspirations of making it more of a robust "RPG" with C&C and such, hence why they hired him. Those initial ideas didn't pan out and so he was more or less left to spin his wheels there, which he himself has admitted in interviews since then. There's hardly anything egregiously bad about the worldbuilding and other narrative fluff in Diablo 3 i.e. the stuff he was left in charge of anyhow. The real issues lie in the core narrative and its writing which can obviously be blamed upon the director (Jay Wilson), story lead (Chris Metzen) and co-writer (Flint Dille), a guy whose prior credits consist of saturday morning cartoons by the way.

For all the shit that Diablo 3 gets, the flow, feel and fluidity of combat is still unrivaled in the ARPG market, only beaten by Diablo 2 I guess.

U want to click on monsters 900000 times, u better make it fucking feel good and worth it, regardless of how dumb the systems are designed, the core gameplay needs to be top notch, and d3 had that down.
Obviously the game was overall trash, but yeah, my hopes for D4 is just

make the artstyle great again, up the anty with the feel of combat and animations, expand the lore in a non retard way, and just make the game basically an MMORPG lite, like Lost ark kind of but easier and more hack and slash

thats bound to be a massive success tbh.

D3 onward the games were going to be shit anyway even if Blizzard North got to develop them considering what David Brevik said he wanted to do with D3. The screenshots of Blizzard North D3 look awful, also.
