The problem is that the main point of seasons is to reset the economy and as а consequence of this to put everybody that creates new character at the same starting position. These are things that will not happen in D4. There is no economy to reset and not everybody starts at the same point. It's thoughtless copycat design by amateur developers, implementing popular systems without understanding why they were implemented in other games. So yes, in D4 seasons are stupid.

Once again: the requirement to access the "seasonal" content by starting a new character is so brain-dead, I can't even find the words. It's like the devs hate their own playerbase. I am certainly not doing it.

So, basically, Blizzard copied mechanic from PoE?

I guess you can still trade valuable rares in D4... but for what, gold? Gold can be useful if you've already got another rare that you can reroll... but without those tradeable chase uniques or high runes as a standard unit of measure IMO the trade is inevitably going to suffer.

The system is mostly copied from D3 and it was loved there. It's also loved by SSF players in PoE. Make sure you don't cut yourself on that edge.

Y you lie, it was not loved in D3 lol, it was still mocked at how bad it was. At least there is official ladder in D3, something D4 will not have until season 3 for now. :hearnoevil:

Source: trust me bro? Guess all d3 players are secret codexers, they just love to come back when a new thing they hate gets released and play it for 2-3 weeks.

While playing POE, I thought a start of a new season was a perfect time to start a new character. Granted, this did get tiresome after playing 3-4 characters and I stopped doing that, but I only have one char in D4 so far. I'm itching to try a new class now and have been putting it off until the new season starts.

Just sticking to one character forever in a game like this makes no sense. Also, the most popular type of seasonal content will probably be added to the 'standard' game, at SOME point.

Source is that Blizzard reported 5.8 million peak D3 daily users and I say if seasons were loved we would see millions of people play them. But just one peak at leaderboards will tell you that there is hundred TIMES less people interested in new D3 season. So in comparison with a game where seasons are actually successful like PoE we see at start of a league they get the same or higher amount of players.

I´m gonna just play this because some normie friend wants to play casual campaign walkthrough in coop for the old times. Is the game good enough for that kind of experience?

I don´t care about post game longevity, or authist build quality. Just to not lose valuable free time playing boring game on weekend while trying to mantain some relationship with my friends.

That's based on launch numbers. What was it, 60% or 80% finished D2 campaign once? A very large majority do not really play the game. That's extra $$$ delivered purely by brand and marketing.

What I'm really curious is how you extrapolated the number of seasonal players from leaderboards. Even if it's more than 1 peek.

I'd say no. They fucked too much with gameplay during campaign.

Level 61 motherfuckers! First try... (once I remembered Elixers were a thing). More like the 8th attempt overall.
If anyone is wondering if armor does anything, the answer is yes.

He dropped Sky Hunter and Frostburn uniques, my build isn't really set up for Sky Hunter. Sadly no Windforce. I got Windforce once in Diablo 1. Once.

Same. Only two more days. Which class you choosing next? I'm going to pick Rogue I think. I see alot of people saying it's the funnest class to play as.

I cheated and had a lvl 70 something rush me through that capstone dungeon. Wasn't intentional, I was just partied with him and was following him around. I would have liked to have attempted it on my own.

I went the other way and played all of them.

59 sorc
47 rogue
50 barb
50 Necro
37 druid.

Mega balance patch dropping today. Expecting nerfs for rogue, Necro and druid. Going to decide on season character after the notes drop.

I think I'm going Lightning Sorc. Want something very different than my current Barb, for the sake of variety.

Sorcerer, Necromancer and Druid all look like fags/lolcows, so I'm not picking those (I don't think there's any way to customize a Sorcerer to make him not look like a tranny). Barbarian seems boring as a concept. Looks like I'm stuck with Rogue.

Oh they best buff the pyro sorc. Right now she is not feeling viable in Torment at all.

Edit

I really really hope this guy is wrong lol...

To fix the resistances they need to first create them. The system now is just a skin over the original first reveal they did two years ago where they just had attack power and defense. They got backlash for that and hastily "created" resistance stat and renamed defense to armour and in the process probably fucked some formulas or code so it's not an easy fix.

Well he's wrong in the sense that Blizzard nerfs things, they didn't do that with D3 at all. Every patch was a buff for some skill or another that was "underused" until everything had like +800% damage, lol.

I'm not sure why people want old resistances back so badly, having a mandatory triple-diamond tower to avoid being one-shot by half the mobs is not my idea of fun.
