Funny game, 8/10? Really? Is that all they've got out of it?

Yes, and this is the one of the major problem with the game vs audience.
I already have see on steam opinion from those who already complete the game once that

As for the writing, it has some levity and the game is at times very funny.
However, at times, it also take itself a little bit too seriously especially when it comes to the emotional stuff. I think comedy is where the game truly shines and I hope they will go more in that direction in the future.

you see that? They understand only lulz and laughts - something just a little bit higher and they will instantly hostile and call that PRETENTIOUS, as we already can see that on Codex even.
This problem will be only be aggravating ovet time - mass crowd will be praising this game as "funny" while will be completely dissmiss anything serious from this game.
You can't talk about heroic or pathetic or high and low if your game has no elfes for example - why? just because.

I can already name all the weak points game has.

Art stated as one of the strong points of game for example.
But it's for who have seen at least something in their lifes.
But 90% of crowd didn't seee anything besides homixes and marvel-movies, they didn't watch anything besides Pixar cancer-inducing "animation films" or Niklodeon channel, they don't interest in this.
This artstyle could be even repulsive to them, or at least has no positive impact.

Also, the writing appeal to a smart people with at least a bit of self-consciousness.
Do you think crowd has that? Really?
Haha, you are a funny man if you really think that.
No, these people understnd only stend-up kind of "humor" and lulz.
Don't bring on anything bigger for them.

In general, general flaw of the game - it appeal to a intellect and self- in a modern world of consistently cultivated anti-intellectiualism and self-emptiness, when the crowd is prodded by the whip to leave any self-consciousness and merge with crowd.

Comrade, you're so right.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
From these reviews I get the impression that you are not control of your character. If you fail a roll for something, you suddenly turn fascist, communist or whatever, and the rest of your playthrough will be colored by this without you having any input. Not sure if roleplaying or just weird experiment.

Can you confirm there are no white checks in order to progress the story/they can be circumventet by means other than spending skill points?

I know you already said you can finish the game without cracking the case, but do you finish it with these checks still there like a brick wall that copletely stops the story and you just spend days till the end, or you can actually progress the story by finding other solutions?

Im bring this up again because the dude on the steam forum claims you cant

Nope, it doesn't work like that. The game keeps track of shit you say and do and then Thoughts pop up. You still have to make an active choice to Internalize them before becoming anything.

IOW you're not in control of what Thoughts pop into your head, but you do have the choice of acting on them, internalizing them, or rejecting them.

You only lose control of your character if you fail a Red check, like in that much-LOLed at dialogue with Klaasje.
