What they should do is team up with a bunch of D&D game streamers and give them voice roles in the game. What a novel idea!

I'm worried that sales may suffer from lack of marketing, like Tyranny. Are you in touch with any indie viral marketing companies like Devolver Digital? What is your marketing strategy anyway? Maybe codex can brainstorm something. One thing I can think of is that you want to convey to as many gamers as possible all the cool things you can do in the game, since just a gameplay video with the isometric style is not that compelling. Maybe focus on listing all the coolest things you can do in your next trailer. Also you should seek out the ad spots where you can get most bang for your buck such as buying banner ads on Something Awful forums.

edit; one of the most clever game ads i've seen is the ck2 trailers: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8xIxrx5i1To
it's most importantly, cheap, but also funny which makes it more likely to go viral. And because Ck2 like your game is extremely interesting to play but boring to look at, they didn't just show gameplay but showed 'what you can do in the game' in a more eyecatching way which is FMV. Maybe you could do something similar? Showcase some of the funny dilemmas and some of the most crazy actions you can take as a cop? 'This is a cop game where you can get so high on drugs that you arrest random people on the street' etc, and then you can act it out in FMV. Just a thought. I hope you will get a really good and smart marketing campaign for this one in a million looking game. You have my D1P in any case.

Yeeeeees...

"Electrochemistry also governs your other dopamine responses. That is: your sexuality. Electrochemistry inserts lurid thoughts into your head, with absolutely no filter. It does not play nice either, it’s an animal."

"The more robust a person you are, the more fun you can have."

What else do I need to fulfil my... purpose?

Those skills.

:swoon:

FFS Infinitron post something on the front page, or do I have to write up the write-ups? That would feel pointless because I CAN'T COMPETE :sob:

Very interesting skills. But I wonder, if volition can counter them, it is stated that can counter electrochemistry bad effect but will counter half light fear and masochism too?

Man they're released by Humble Bundle

Isn't Humble Bundle owned by IGN? Wouldn't that create a lot of DRAMA! ?

Physical Instrument is your hand to hand combat skill, your inner coach. He likes to be addressed as “Coach Physical Instrument”. You can call him Coach, or you can call him Coach Physical Instrument.

Put points into this guy to punch a suspect in the face. Or 360 degree spin kick the living daylights out of them. But it’s not just violence. You can use this skill to physically analyse the qualities of a “beat” on a dance track. (Coach Physical Instrument thinks it needs more bass).

In addition to being the voice of your musculature, Physical Instrument tries to give you social advice from time to time: be less sensitive, stop being such a sissy, drop down and give me fifty. Coach Physical Instrument is all about masculinity, with little to no self awareness. I like to think it governs your muscles, skeleton and your sweat glands. Add Suggestion to dial things back a little, add some sensitivity training? He turns you into a raging gym trainer if you let him run the show.
This parts sounds completely retraded.

Really?
Usually I hate games for being silly/childish. But that sounds hilarious as fuck.

Maybe it is because I imagine Coach Physical Instrument something like this:

Yes Sir Coach Physical Instrument :salute:

The traditional interpretation of the strength stat is simplistic, but this inner talk with strength fails for the opposite reason. It is too convoluted and try-hard. It seems the type of gibberish a person would write under the influence.
I would never imagine "The coach" as "smart" more like a big guy full of Testosteron. Very primitive, primal.
Do you feel the description implies the opposite?

I've been lurking on this game for a good year now but I should say that I'm really looking forward to the release and also will be one of the rare "day 1ers" from me.

I'm going all Endurance and embracing the true decline of man.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

he linked to this two days ago. it's on the last page of this thread. they are slow. the fuckers at the watch got my hopes up and then crushed them. Why, fuckers, why!?

not putting this stuff on the front page is another story but seems to be a deliberate decision rather than an oversight.

Linking in this topic means nothing. RPGWatch put it on their main news page that you don't need to enter forums to see. That is what my link meant.

So, Disco Elysium was in the Indie Megabooth at PAX East last weekend. They let me sit there and play it for an unconscionably long time (seriously, I felt a little guilty occupying one of their stations for so long).

My initial impressions: it's good! Lots of text that reacts to your character build and your choices, including a surprising amount of the "internal monologue" variety. The focus on reactive text reminded me quite a lot of The Age of Decadence--if you enjoyed that, I think there's an excellent chance you'll end up enjoying Disco Elysium.
