The way fusion/possession works in the game is moronic and so is the unlimited teleporting ability. Both shitty consoletard mechanics that make me rage. :x Also combat seems way too easy. I hope it's just for the game presentation, otherwise it's a disgrace. Dishonored seems like a great game that got fucked in the ass by consolization.

The people comparing/admiring this after playing Thief, should be drowned in their own vomit.

I dunno. From all we got so far, it has all the mechanics that will allow you to sneak past everything in the "traditional Thief" style (well, except "Blink" power - but let's consider it as a popamole "rope arrow" which is somewhat unrealistic anyway :troll:).
The problem I have with this game is some of the retarded "powers" that you can claim, e.g., turning into fish/rat with no consequences (actually I wouldn't mind them if there were some reasonable restrictions, and not just magically turn into fish and become a full armed badass on the other side of the sinkhole) .

But afaik it can be completely avoided if you choose so.

Didn't know about them. Can't they be switch off? (or at least you won't have to use them in order to complete the game)

I know, it is like "next-gen layer of shit" put on top, but as I understood you can do everything the old ways, no?

I guess we will see after it is shipped.

I think they are "magical" but heck they are there. You can probably play it without them (no magic run) but then you can guess that the gameplay must be very easy to allow both.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I don't get why anyone would want/need those. I hate to be a Bethesda-drone but unless you're playing something top-down sight cones are kind of immersion-breaking in a 3D game. And x-ray vision takes away the entire sense of peril you have when sneaking around in Thief, always quietly listening to what's up ahead. If you could just see through walls there'd be no reason to be tense or sneak around quietly; you'd just run everywhere and quiet down once you see something on your magical radar.

Seems to defeat the purpose.

It's not consolization. There's nothing that says that a console game can't have high difficulty or has to be streamlined.
It's all got to do with the maximization of possible audience.
As publishers don't hold their customers in particularly high regard and therefore gravely underestimate their capabilities and intelligence, they aim for an audience with an IQ of 80 and below.

It's consolization in the sense that the issues you describe are rampant on consoles. So it's just a short hand way of saying everything you said.

Hmm, I hope it will be otherwise. If you DON'T use those "magic" abilities, your gameplay will be tough but possible. As I see them (those "magic abilities"), they are just a WIN button, but you can still play it without it (IF YOU DARE Bethesad@).

That is the whole point of showing it as "do you want to have it easy or tough?". I mean, I see this game as - " here we are giving you a cheat engine for free, but you can also complete it like a true BRO".

They are rampant everywhere.
And I'm pretty sure the situation wouldn't be that different without consoles.
Aside from slightly better user interfaces maybe.

It's a chicken/egg issue. They're rampant 'everywhere' because there are pretty much no AAA PC-centric games anymore (excluding MMOs).

Hmm, depends if you consider a high budget strategy game like the Total Wars AAA or not (BTW, those game tend to sell around 1-2 million copies I believe)

Wait so is this game not even a pseudo rpg? Just a steampunk assain's creed?
Don't think they ever said it was a pseudo RPG. There's some minor looting/inventory management and side missions/objectives, but that's not really out of character for a Thief-like.

^ Exactly. It has about as many 'RPG Elements' as Bioshock.
