Well, they want to combine Thief, Bioshock and Hitman. Targeted release date: Q2 2012
I'm hyped as fuck. But this could go wrong in so many ways ...

I'm not thrilled about level based game play but it still looks good.

Really looking forward to this one. Sounds more and more like we'll finally get another game as groundbreaking as thief. It’s very refreshing to hear a developer say, “we’re going to do this, and we fully expect most players to completely miss it.”

People who expect another Thief game here are gonna be in for some disappointment. I think the closest we could expect gameplay wise is Dark Messiah, which offered both a stealthy part, and an action-y part. Suppose this will be a bit more on the acion side.

Still, I take an Arkane game anytime anywhere over some half-assed DX:HR or colorful clown-shooter a'la Bioshock.

I dunno, I think I've heard them say in interviews that it is a stealth game first and foremost. Let's hope that's true.

Perhaps. But everytime I played a game that claimed to tailor both to Thief and Action fans, it turned out it was doing neither path really good, thus people resorted to the easier Rambo style. But we're talking about designers here who were lead on Arx Fatalis and Deus Ex 1, so if they don't get their shit together, nobody ever will.

I glimpsed a screenshot with enemy outlines visible through walls. So much for Thief-like stealth.

Also, the prostitutes are extremely ugly. Perhaps they're supposed to be tranny prostitutes?

UE3 people are exceptionally ugly with rare exceptions. I look at those screens and see Bioshock splicers.

I liked that art style. They were not afraid to become different from ME3.
