Wow - the things you have to do to get your password reset on this forum - my bank has less security. And really ? Forcing me to read Todd & Pete misspell ERgo Draconis to get my password back ? Kinda cool but still...Anways - I figured I'd jump right in (and out, I've learnt from the experiences of my predecessors). Yes, we (well, I) did ruin it a little bit as detailed elsewhere in this thread, but we're scrambling, and we actually could use some feedback regarding what rewards you'd like to see.

I gathered from some posts you're not really happy with our rewards, but what I'd really like to know is, what is it that would make you... well, not happy... but ... well... less unhappy ? Honestly, we are making the type of game you guys (and occasional girl) should actually like, I think, so your thoughts actually do matter to us. (You cannot even start to imagine what this does to our psyche). So if you feel like offering some ideas, we'll pick them up (insert big disclaimer here)

Also - R. person - we welcome stats discussions. Actually, we even integrated an idea from your emissary already. I wonder if he'll pick it up. It's in the KS description. But from what you wrote/quoted, I gathered that you actually thought about this, so I'd be curious to hear your suggestions.

And thanks to all of you who have been pledging btw - you are going to be making a difference.

Swen had answered me on twitter regarding character customization. You will be able to customize the characters, but there will always be two. Now I'm wondering if it's always two for only the campaign, or two chars for everything (including player made content).

You probably already know this, but I think a large part of the enthusiasm gap you may find yourself working against is the psychology of people not feeling needed. Things that are very up in the air like Torment, Project Eternity, et cetera, could very well not happen without Kickstarter. When it's already established that a) the game is awesome by our standards and b) is basically going to be released no matter what, a lot of the motivation is gone. People can just sit back and get a fine game and not risk anything. Like many people have said, it seems like you guys are treating this like a really early pre-order with some customer feedback, which isn't a bad way to go about things just so long as you aren't expecting that 400K goal to be beaten by millions.

That said, yes, it will kind of be hilarious if this Kickstarter doesn't break the goal by a significant amount. This is, technically, what people have been "asking" for. Hugely concrete pitch with tons of evidence that the product is real and not vaporware. Surprise, turns out people are more interested in hopes and dreams. Sidenote: as people have mentioned, you may want to play up the editor a little more prominently in your pitch. I know you do talk about it several times, but this is a big selling point you could perhaps emphasize as more of a central part of the project.

Maybe in updates? If you're planning on doing a centralized system for multiplayer/mods, this would be a great thing to touch on. Lord knows there's a massive difference between half-assed game toolkits that are just thrown at the consumer, and games with a built-in network of automatically downloading mods/adventures whenever you join a server, et cetera. Also, use of ease. Witness how despite being much older and much more primitive in its tech, Neverwinter Nights 1 always maintained a much higher base of players than #2, because any idiot could use the toolset.

Like Metro said, limiting digital copies (for the $ 25 tier) is not really a good idea. My suggestion would be to make the $ 25 tier unlimited digital copies with a $ 20 Early Bird tier with limited copies.

This game looks like the best barrel inspecting simulator since Ultima VI, that part when they sped up the video showing the character looting all the containers in the room was pure porn.

JC Matt Barton should definitely do an interview. This KS is exactly what he was asking for when he was bitching about kickstarters in general.

stretch goal = remove co-op in order to increase SP reactivity.

I'd pledge.

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Divinity: Original Sin 2
Backed this but hope Larian don't need the Jewgold badly cause they should wait at least a month for Torment Kicstarter to conclude and the backer wallets to recharge. :hero:

Liked DD1, DD2 was good for what is was (tried 2 times and didn't completed) but third part is TB and ISO so backed them up anyway.

So you don't have two chars + two henchman?

Man, I hate single-character games :(

@lar_q Please consider having add-ons, like being able to pay an extra amount for another copy of Original Sin, another copy of Dragon Commander and also the soundtrack.

There are two chars but you can hire two henchman and/or summon two elementals.

Edit: The henchmen does not have dialog options/story though

A new Ultima 7, with turn based combat?

:takemymoney:

For all the good things Lord British is saying, this seems to be the real deal.

AoO are in, which means that at least they're thinking about movement. Now, you need knockback combos or something.

Hmmm... I loatehd DD1 first time I played it. A few months ago, i tried it, and enjoyed it. Then, pllayed DD2 and liked it. Was looking forward to the new game...

That said, this seems kind of seedy. I am not impressed by this tatic,.

Next we are gonna see EA/BIO starting a KS to finance the last 6 months of dev time for DA3. LMFAO

LAME

P.S. This isn't bashing the game itself. It looks like it will be very fun, and if I see it in stores I will pick it up most likely. But, screw their peice of crap mehtod.

L0L KS Ford gonan start a KS. L0L

It's funny you mention this Volourn, since this is close to the model InXile will have for future games (provided their Kickstarters don't bomb).

InXile will probably have enough money to make AA titles, but fans will be asked to pitch on Kickstarter to make the game bigger or whatever they think they can do with the extra development dollars. I'm not saying it's good or bad, just that it's what's going to happen. Maybe Obsidian will wind up doing he same thing as well.

I hope you can make that 4 permanent PCs in a player-made module (with no summons/henchmen). All controlled by 1 player. That would be hella nice.

That's what they said in the other thread. 4 fully customizable characters. They just don't know yet whether to balance the game for 2 or 4.

Co-op isnt needed. This is a Sp game too. Just play it by yourself.
I know. But judging from the KS video, the co-op has an entirely unique dialogue (system). It's like double the effort just for co-op.
Speaking of which, I would really want to see some SP video footage.

I just hope this gets funded, as it doesn't look too well on the funding part. Otherwise, it looks like a dream game and it would be a huge shame if this failed in that department. :(
