If I don't find anything else, to make a noir private eye+ espionage hybrid game, then yeah.

Over there.

That sounds good, I will play around with it but no idea if I'll ever get anything set in stone.

I'd love to see a 40's era noir/private eye RPG. I go to sleep listening to the old radio shows, like Philip Marlowe, Sam Spade, etc. Right now, I'm working on the Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar series.

I'd like to fiddle around with encounter design and try to make a challenging arena, similar to that NWN2 Conan mod. With turnbased combat it could be pretty fun.

Ultima VII Part 2: The Serpent Isle. Though it will depend greatly on the amount of Serpent artwork/models available.

I wanted to do this with NWN2 of which the expansion Storm of Zehir had a lot of (and a lot of nods to). But I hated the combat in that.

Maybe you'll be able to add your own serpents, if you know what I mean (;

Along similar lines, I have a longstanding desire to do an Ultima based adventure that takes place just before Ultima 5, where you play a central role in establishing the Resistance. Started it in NWN2 but couldn't live with the clunky mechanics. Just waiting for the right toolset and hoping this one has the flexibility to enable it.

Sounds promising guys, especially Ultima 7 Jaesun. :)

I'm hoping sci-fi/cyberpunk assets get made for it, that, or I'll just make my own amateur shit.

This world needs more sci-fi cRPGs.

I generally agree, but I'd say world needs more good sci-fi RPGs.

Also, this might not be the most optimal toolset to create sci-fi themed games, but that depends on how hard it is to import Your own assets into it.

I'll try to make a small Haunted Castle mod or something to learn the ropes. I hope triggers and alterable values and so on are easy to manage for creating many different states and solutions to quests.

I'm usually reticent about fan remakes of rpg's or any other cult classics for that matter. Why waste energy on remaking something that will never surpass the original?* because... graphics? Would love to see people doing more original work and showcasing their writing / level design skills without being hampered by existing material.

*"Because i can" is a valid answer. :)

I have an old AD&D module WG7 Castle Greyhawk which is a fun parody based adventure that I was considering attempting once I get the time. Based on what I saw from the demos, it should work nicely for the strange interactive dialog of the adventure.

That takes a lot more effort than learning to use an editor, that is... if you want it to be any good. I have often thought about such in previous game editors, but I am too much of a perfectionist and would likely succumb to design paralysis when it comes to such artistic expression.

An important message to all our backers!

The Larian Vault now allows all of you to manage your pledge. In case you are wondering, that also includes everybody who backed via Paypal.
So, how does it work?
  • Log in with your existing Larian Vault account or create a new one
  • Once logged in, click the Kickstarter logo in the menu
  • Fill in the email address that you use to log in on Kickstarter OR that you use to log in on Paypal
  • Click the "Look up and link" button

Free upgrade to the Dragon Commander Imperial Edition

Everybody who has Dragon Commander in their tier gets a free Imperial Edition upgrade. What's that you say ? An Imperial Edition ? Tell me more!
Prepurchase_Banner_Distributor.jpg

Immediate & free beta access
When you log in on the Larian Vault, you will find that there is a shiny Steam beta key waiting just for you. Use it, and you'll be able to practice your multiplayer skills in Dragon Commander before the game goes live. And help us make the game better in the process!
An Imperial Edition upgrade key
When the game goes live on August 6th 2013, you'll receive a key that will unlock all the bonus content that is included in the Imperial Edition. Just because you were so very cool to back us and believe in Dragon Commander!
Don't have Dragon Commander in your tier yet?

Well, if you pre-purchase the game on the Larian Vault now, you'll get the upgrade anyway, and you'll receive immediate beta access. Instant gratification guaranteed (at least in multiplayer)
Wondering why you would want to get Dragon Commander?

Here's two movies made to convince you.

First, the one minute movie which will instantly make your heart want to part with your money and pre-purchase Dragon Commander right away.

Next, the 27 minutes movie in which Swen guides you through one round of gameplay. This movie is guaranteed to make your brain want to part with your money.

And if that's not enough, well, then just keep an eye on www.facebook.com/larianstudios over the next couple of weeks as we kickstart our charm campaign during which we try to convince you to buy Dragon Commander :)

The game is set to release on August 6th 2013 and if you like strategy games like Risk and you like RPGs, then you should definitely get it. If on top of that you like RTS games, then I don't understand what you're doing here - you should be playing the beta already! :)
So what about DOS ?

Given all the Dragon Commander noise we're making, you might be wondering what's going on with the wonderful Divinity: Original Sin. Well, a lot. But we're going to keep it under wraps for just a little bit longer. Let's just say that we realised the other day that we might be over the amount of gameplay time we wanted to put in, so you can rest assured that it's going to be big enough ;)
Also, now that the pledge management system is online, we're going to start using it to collect all the feedback for the player content in there. And then, we're going to figure out exactly how we're going to put it all in.
Busy days at Larian, very busy days.
