Roguey,

Look, if your response is just "grr I didn't like it" cool, but don't pass it off as some kind of high-brow objectivism about superior game design laced with an appeal to authority from two people, only one of whom has any real authority on the topic (and even then, the only appeals you make to sawyer are quotes of him going "others suck, I don't").

I removed the part about RPG gamers and what not because it wasn't as fitting, but I still said it was just speculation -- so feel free to fly off the handle at that. Still, people who play RPGs more than other games develop a general understanding of how those games play. FPSers won't ever get into Darklands, but people who enjoy RPGs now may find quite a lot of value in that game even if they thing it is anachronistic.

It's like you're ignoring my arguments. I've already explained DD's loot treadmill = failure, fighting the same skeleton five hundred times = failure, generic high fantasy dialogue and situations = uninteresting.

Roguey,

Cool bro -- cue comment about all of your posts being the same generic pseudo trollings, regardless of the game or topic, and thus uninteresting.

There, now we're back at square one.

Okay let's try to drag this back on track.

What do you guys think about there not being a five-foot-step or similar mechanic that works with (or rather, against) attacks of opportunity?

Piano version of Dwarven Mirth + Kiril's face when he starts to play it: solid gold.

EDIT: Great ending, too.

I'm thinking of upping my donation to get the beta. Does anyone know the eta of its release? For some reason I have July stuck in my head.

What happens when games like this get mentioned on GameFAQs:

I'm little disappointed that they decided to go with the turn-based system. At least for me and because of this coop they want to add, it would be kinda cool to see a RTwP system like icewind or maybe neverwinter.

I think it's buried in the thread but someone update me on what our goal is and what we get for it. And tag me in the post so I get notified.

I really wish Roguey was a troll. At least then we wouldn't have to face the horrific truth that they (it?) actually believe all the absurd things they say.

Now, if we can please avoid answering to Rogueys retarded shit in the future, it's getting a nuisance having to skim over it.

Talking about items and merchants, there is any word about the economy in the game?
Most games in the last years tend to give you virtually infinite money by the middle of the game, often with no ways to really spend them.

How is the loot you can buy? Just basic stuff, like NWN where you find +5 weapons on town barrels, a way in between?
There will be any way to spend big chunks of money for non loot related stuff? Or for RPG purposes? (Stupid example: instead of killing that band of bandits you can pay them big money to get the fuck out of town)

We could find out where he lives and break his legs, but I'm not sure how that would help.

We're still balancing loot drops, and hand placing a lot actually. Money: you can bribe guards, you need money to hire henchmen, it's bartering instead of trading, you can try to give money to people to raise their attitude of you.

Is bribe based on your characters stats or do it depend on the npc you are trying to bribe? So some npc cant be bribed no mater what?

New article on german Gamestar magazine.

Rather nice article, maybe with the exception of the complaints that the personality you can assign to the second hero doesn't compare to the "colorful" companions in Mass Effect.
