I must say that due to those new youtube previews, my fears have been assuaged. The graphics are definitely not as "cartoony" as I feared. Onwards, Larian !

yeah because cartoony graphics would have given you AIDS. thank god.
edit: that sounded more snarkier than intended.

Cartoonyness is one thing, but eye-raping bloom and contrast on early screenshots (f.e this) were noticeable turn-offs.

They toned down palette since then and it's a good thing.

The lighting in that screenshot reminds me of Witcher 2. :smug:
But yes, the new screenshots are much better. Gorgeous, even.

Such an art style would be negative, surely, but honestly it would not turn me off from playing this game (or other games of this seeming gameplay quality).

Edit: Just finished Div2. Then Jumpstarted my car. Got within my metal steed of four hearts and decided to go on a drive to give the battery time to juice up. Put on the Div2 soundtrack. Spent an hour feeling like Roland riding towards the tower, thanks to the references in Div2 (and having read the Dark Tower series before).

Contacting all these youtubers was a great idea. Too bad it wasn't done a bit earlier. (It's all the Watch's fault!)

Which YT channel is that from?
Ohmwrecker aka MaskedGamer.

I really like this preview. Of all the YT people, he seemed the most genuinely interested in the game, did not skip through dialogue and even tried following some questlines.

It seems that these previews are doing their job (check the last three days bump), but I fear they might be too late to make enough of a difference. I still hope for that 800K goal at least.

Contracting youtubers will probably become standard practice for kickstarter projects that have something to show off.

Just like everyone is now copying Obsidian's idea of the labyrinth levels. (Torment with it's phatoms and Divinity with it's forest)

These are pretty rare, however. But they indeed do exist.
Autoloot Games may be interested in this soon.

Yeah, but they also may be contracting youtubers after the campaign is over to boost their sales when the game is ready. Kickstarter doesn't leave much money for marketing and this seems like a cheap way to gain some traction with the customers.

Right now, only the second person to talk (or the AI) actually has a choice about whether to agree or disagree with the first person. The first person makes a decision and is stuck with that decision – before even knowing what the second person’s opinion is, but the second person can see the first person’s decision before deciding whether to agree.

No one can ever actually be swayed by the other's arguments and change their mind. This one is easy to change, with just a generic "Fine, we'll do it your way", alongside the three "No, we'll do it my way: [Charm] / [Reason] / [Intimidate]" options.

If you are playing with a friend and have a voice chat on it should not be such a big problem, I guess.
However, I wonder if that mechanic isn't part of the "fun". You choose something not exactly knowing what your friend might choose and then you have to roll with it, even if it might have less than optimal consequences.

They contracted Angry Joe? :declining: I'm not even watching it to find out.
At this point I wouldn't hold it against them if they contracted fucking Satan himself*, if only that brings more money to the project.

I have to admit I am impressed how fast AJ uploaded his video, especially compared to that TotalBiscuit guy. I might even watch it, even if I can't stand the guy.

* still better than EA

Oh sorry, I took it from some post on another forum that was posted last night there...

Should have looked at the date, I guess. Now I feel stupid...
