So, I finally noticed this (I'd thought it was some other crappy game I'd seen already for some reason.) Seems really awesome, stayed up an extra 6 hours or so last night trying shit out.

When do you suppose the next PBEM will start?

When raw told me the good news "shuddup and play Xib faggit", I was about to pass the game to an old buddy (yes, I didn't want to play Xib that much). He saw the list of players and was like "FUCK NO, Malakal is there - forget it". And told me the whole story, about all those pbems he played with ya. Have to say, that buddy is pretty skilled at the game and usually pwns most people I know.

I mean, how many trully experienced players got strong nations in this pbem? I'm an old but senile player, who got this awkward Xibalba that I never played before. Johannes got meh-tier Machaka that got some strong sides, but it's definetely not in top 5 EA nations. And you - with all your experience and skill - got fuken TNN.

And by the way. You can't choose TNN over Niefelheim and say that you hate elves. I'm not complaining, of course. Hate to think what this pbem would look like if you took Niefelheim.

Awkward Xibalba? Easily the strongest nation in EA, especially since you played the start of the game with the bugged prices on the sacred mages.

Not bugged as Nazca wasnt bugged, simply overpowered. Also the strongest EA nation is Mictlan I think, granted the recent nerf to multishape did cost them a lot.

You bet your ass it did. Still pretty decent, though it changes some thinking on bless.

Quite frankly I dislike jaguars now but they still kick ass.. assuming they dont die in their human form. N9W9 or N9F9 seems extremely solid still and helps with that issue.

Unfortunately Mictlan was heavily nerfed with their pretenders too, they rely on their titan like pretenders who cost an arm and a leg now.

I don't think Mictlan got bad off at all from the pretender change. They can just go N9B9 cheaper than before with the Statue of Bloody Mother, or pick a monster for a bless, with one or two majors. Or a Demilich is a good fit for them (well it is for anyone). Their Titans were never really good since only the guy with FAN can teleport, and FAN isn't that hot to build a bless on which Mictlan wants.

Blood bless is fairly useless for Mictlan tho. +4 str isnt bad but its less killing power than F9 or W9 and blood vengeance, while nice on massed sacreds, is not the best extra skill, and nowhere near to true regeneration or bless quickness or magic weapons.

Really? BV is almost tailor made to be awesome for Mictlan. You get a ton of Hp for the cost with Jags, so most things will just implode trying to kill them, most importantly enemy mages. Melee power matters only once you get to melee.

You could say B9 with another major than N would be preferable to block out even more counters, maybe, but those are more expensive to get.

Yep. I've fought a N9B9 Mictlan before the patch and they are simply unbeatable by a number of nations. In our match, KoolNoodles would have probably triumphed easily against Ulm and he would be pretty much invincible against me or Xibalba (BV kills chaff and Evo spammers like nothing). Yet, now the point is moot, and as he said N9B9 is a boring bless.

Time for round two of the "fuck it" strategy.

If you kill 500 frogs and 15 supporting mages with roughly 70 idiots (most of 'em MILITIA) I think I'm going to ragequit the game.

Anti magic mostly negates the BV effect, its extremely easy to counter this way. Sure, mass AOE evos will still kill mages casting them but hey, thats to be expected.
