Bethesda doing their hardest to annihilate all their profitable franchises.
Yeah that's a shit TV spot. Why wouldn't they just roll with the game's composer, he's got some awesome stuff. And it's not really egregious, and I'm sure no one really gives a shit, but the words they chose there do not fit the series' themes much. "Defiance, Power, Courage" fall more into the traditional lexicon of heroism. Doomguy is more of the mindless aggro rip'n'tear variety. Annihilation. Decimation. Obliteration. You get the gist.
I disagree. OG Doomguy was a badass, but not the edgy kind. His motivations were always avenging his fallen comrades and protecting humanity from an imminent demonic invasion. I never liked the faceless edgelord shtick they ran with in 2016, and am very glad they went back to giving him more of a humanity's protector/champion vibe in Eternal.
That doesn't take anything away from just how horribly that TV spot misses the mark though.
BTW, finished mission six. This one was pretty good actually i think i'll have to rank this above Doom 3 just because the combat is actually engaging even though if you are smart with your tools you can trivialize it.
I finally decided to give this shit a spin (Doom 2016). I always rage quit at the caption at the very beginning for being SOOOO fucking try hard but this time i tried to push myself.
That said, now that i got used to the style of the arenas the game isn't actually as hard as i thought. Cleared the second map without dying once. You just need to keep tracks of the demons, which is easier now that i know what their moving and attack patterns are.
Well, i redid some fights to check out what the AI is actually doing, and i'll say it's actually pretty clever.
At this rate Lyric Suite will start loving Doom 2016 soon.BTW, finished mission six. This one was pretty good actually i think i'll have to rank this above Doom 3 just because the combat is actually engaging even though if you are smart with your tools you can trivialize it.

I played worse. I finished Unreal 2 lmao
Just got the chain gun no idea if it's worth it burning the assault rifle ammo for it (probably not).
what difficulty are you playing on?
Which difficulty level did you pick?
Nightmare. Ultra-nightmare is locked but since it's an iron man mode i wouldn't play it anyway.
Well, turns out this whole upgrade thing was a lie. I killed the Cyberdemon and all my shit is basically nearly all upgraded. I guess by the end i'll have everything at max sort of disappointed, but i guess i should have figured there was no actual character development, but i suppose in practical terms it doesn't matter since a lot of those weapon upgrades are no longer all that useful past a certain point so i suppose one can still opt for a different "path" in a replay.
I tried playing this, but got too annoyed to finish it. Perhaps the combat could be fun in a less retarded context, but as it is, the game feels like a waste of time. A lot of fights could just be completed by walking in circles, anyway, so I doubt the combat is really much good beyond letting you pretend that you're having fun. Too much of the game feels like fake shit.
Lmao, the Rich Get Ritcher rune. The most broken shit i found so far. What a bad idea.

I thought the rune challenges were retarded in general. I don't like the way they take you out of the game so I ended up just skipping them.
