I wouldn't say Alliance threw the 2nd game, they were on a timer because their lategame was a lot weaker, and closing a game out is tough. They lost the draft IMO.

One of the greatest games in Dota history. USA USA USA

Also the only game in TI history won against mega creeps.

My all Asian semi-final.
:negative:

its ok wings will murder them and MVP can rape their corpses in the lower bracket. there is still hope.

i wonder how MVP will fare now that wings have revealed their greatest weakness, though. this reminds me of how DK found the cure for deathball but didnt live long enough to use it in ti4, which newbee used to kick VGs ass in ti4.

I don't get the appeal of this game. I have a friend and he can be playing this for hours, and I tried it and it is terrible.

It's great and all that you have 200 some characters to choose from in an overheard battle simulator like some sort of skirmish version of an RTS... but the game is so bogged down with stats and over saturated with reading up on it before even starting, who would even want too? I just want to pick it up and go. I thought "oh... an ice fellow. The ice fellow will freeze my opponent's and I can be a great assist to my team whilst not having to do the major work like remembering map areas or getting kills."

No... that did not happen. Because the attacks themselves level up during a match and so I was not freezing anybody.

One play, immediate uninstall.

Chess is retarded because you have to memorize what each piece does. Its so unintuitive why does the knight get to jump over other pieces why can't pawns move backwards why do they attack diagonal? The manual didn't even say anything about castling. Shit game, threw my board into the dumpster where it belongs.

That came across as condescending but my point is that Dota is like hyperchess with a hundred times as many rules. Most of the rules are arbitrary and don't really make sense from a thematic perspective (some fire attacks cause DoT, others don't) and there are exceptions everywhere. Understanding the most important rules is a prerequisite to having fun.

Dota is fun if you're have sado-masochistic tendencies and enjoy making other people suffer. The pain of being stuck in a losing game getting raped over and over for 30 more minutes is balanced by the joy of inflicting the same amount of pain onto your opponents.

liquid deserved to lose that. i dont know what happened but they've been playing really shakey all tournament long. their most important hero, lycan was figured out early on and they just didnt have a plan B i guess.

mushi decided the game was going a bit too well and turned on god-mode. let's hope he can keep that god-mode on. :salute:

How long has iceiceice been playing carry? Hasn't he traditionally played offlane?

he has played every role at one point in time

Carry for Zenith and MYM (the team with hyhy)
Mid for Zenith and DK
Offlane for DK, Ehome, VC
Support for Scythe and sometimes DK
Captain for Zenith

Ice^3 is imo the most versatile dota player ever. It's a shame that Ehome didn't take advantage of his huge hero pool.

A Beautifully Desolate Campaign
It's a shame Ehome doesn't realise that they just don't play well against Void and decide to ban it, I was hoping that after losing to VG.R in the qualifier and getting outplayed by Universes Void twice they would finally ban it since it disrupts their ability to teamfight and weave in and out of skirmishes like they generally like to do. Moo can also only play timbersaw well and they didn't ban that one either.

Old eleven somehow went from the most impressive player in the main event to the shittiest player over night. He has always been rather inconsistent but todays performance was a new low.

Void absolutely has to be either banned or countered with at least two heroes. Every Void game has proved that the hero is just too powerful in all stages of the game after level 6. A hero with the best ult in the entire game, carry potential and low cooldown is just too much.

The obvious counter to teamfight heavy low commitment heroes is Naga Siren, but ppd will first ban it. Other supports like disruptor need to be close to the team to be effective, and have to play reactively to Void, and are at risk of getting blown up before they can even begin to cast.

Ehome vs EG has also proved that warlock is not a viable pick against Void, simply because his golem cooldown is twice as long as Voids chrono cooldown. Being forced to use it defensively every fight effectively turns warlock into a ranged creep for two minutes, so the winner of the teamfight is still unable to take objectives.

Earlier I realized that Pugna might be a viable counterpick to void and EGs low-risk-high-return playstyle. The nether ward is important because it also drains mana. Axe and Timbersaw also have serious mana problems, and would be unable to chain dunk or chakram multiple heroes. Void would be unable to timewalk and chrono at the same time, and if he did pop a chrono, he would get hit with a 393 dmg magic nuke at lv 11 (525 dmg at lv 16). Decrepify also helps nuke down Axe, and the range of the nether blast allows him to take out tier 3 towers without any risk. the big problem with this strat is how fragile Pugna is. If hit with an ice blast, or if a carry is in his general vicinity, he will die instantly. That means he has to be paired with a defensive support like WW, or SD if he hasn't been able to use all his spells. Even if Pugna dies, he still has a big impact on a fight after death if he placed his ward. A pugna last pick might show up.

Maybes tryhard strat almost won them the cheese, but Lanm Riki and Fear Ember was just too OP vs 10 players. GG

Since I expect to get an underwhelming response (or none at all) from PlayDota: where did this Vlads/Manta/Diffu void build come from?
