It's all right. I guess you can join tomorrow then after the job?

Argh, unfortunately I have plans tomorrow night. I guess I'll have to wait for the next Invitational. /sigh

I've heard people say that but I've never actually tested to see if it's true. It DOES let you attack when ensnared/unable to attack but can cast spells though (CM freeze or tree ult for example, or when banished).

I was against a melee hero in solo mid and my gameplan was to hit level 6, kill him, hit level 7 (to get level 4 passive) and go kill everyone else. There wasn't a single time during the lane phase that the extra range would have made a real difference and taking it would have delayed my murderous rampage by at least a minute.

I'd hop on, but US West here makes it kinda hard during the week (if the converter was right, 1500gmt is 8am here). Might be able to do tomorrow though. Skill level is probably medium. What are you using to coordinate/meet up, Steam group chat or something?

My steam id matches my name here, and I'm in the Codex and CDS steam groups.

My gameplan for huskar everygame is get morbid and dive everything
and it works

Been playing alot of disruptor lately, very fun and trollish type of hero. You can do some major stuff with his ult and 3rd move and his lightning dot isnt negligible either. His best move his is 2nd move though, imba range lvl 4 and can pretty much guarantee succesful ganks. Sending back heros who teleport to tower never gets old either.

Playing on a brand new account, I'm impressed by how fast matchmaking adjusts to account for player skill, effectively putting "smurfs" where they belong i.e. with and up against other smurfs.

It seems that one's performance in games matters so much more to MMR than winning/losing. I'm not suprised this isn't officially revealed, since that would encourage people to play selfishly to get up in rating. Also, having a bigger number of games played puts you in games with people of similar number of games, but it doesn't really adjust your skill rating.

Of course, the classic DotA-tard straw man argument. Let's just disregard the fact that League of Legends has more players, more tournaments, and more prize money than DotA. How is DotA empirically more competitive than League of Legends?
1. LoL is more accessible. Gameplay-wise and logistics-wise. It is F2P. More people playing = bigger interest in spectating and more tournaments, bigger prizepools etc.
2. DotA2 is less accessible. Gameplay-wise and logistics-wise. It is closed beta. You can't got to a website and click "PLAY NAOW 4 FRE!". More finicky mechanisms and shit you need to master. Steeper learning curve.

I hope that answered your question.

DotA2 is free to play and extremely easy to get into (I was immediately granted access by filling out a survey).

Nice try though!

There is no reason for a billion MtG threads on the Gazebo either, but nobody is complaining. It's just easier to organize the tournament if it has its own thread.

a gay mans ass
There are two Dota threads on the first page. In addition to these there are another two on the second, one of which isn't really about the game itself and the other is shitposting by somebody bashing the game/genre. You're retarded.

Yesterday we were 8ppl max at one moment, so we'll try again today. Join channel "RPG Codex" on dota (press + in the upper right corner of the chat screen and enter the name or search for it).

Do you mean Black King Bar? No, it doesn't. You decide when you want to start using it.

Does the monkey head/magic invulnerability for X sec item auto-activate like in hon?

The only defensive item that auto-activates is linken sphere and it absorbs a single spell targeting the hero having it. Everything else is manual I'm afraid.
