@Mike_Laidlaw Hello Mr. Laidlaw, a brief question: will we be able to alter our characters physique in Dragon Age Inquisition?

@LeonA01371176 [Yes.] We're investing in supporting 4 race body types... 2 bodies per race, 1 male, 1 female.

@Mike_Laidlaw Thank you my friend.

Moan all you want, but the price of body sliders are Oblivion-level graphics and hair that clips through coats.

Bullshit. Look at TESO or even modded Skyrim for example. Also some clipping is hardly an issue, I'm sure there will be plenty of it with all the spiky awsum armor and cloud's swords.

You're never going to get a single player RPG on the budget of a AAA MMORPG GOTY. Does TESO have Dwarves? Because creating a whole new body type is arguably much harder than slapping two D-cups on an Elf girl.

And maybe modded DA:I will have body sliders and open world exploration - if Bioware gives us the tools for it, modders will do amazing things with this game.

I like character customization, but it would be better if they spend resources on creating interesting quests and characters.

To be fair, games with extensive PC visual customization are a hugely important outlet for BDD sufferers, and BDD symptoms almost completely overlap with the behaviour of the average hardcore RPG gamer. Best not to judge.

ME2 was a big improvement. Less retarded plot
:hmmm:

I think it's time for Excidium to get a new tag.

Holy shit, what the fuck is with Bioware games making so many people butthurt? Fans will talk about this all the time because they care, I get it... but majority of you guys don't give a shit about ME or DA (or at least that's what you said...) yet there is not a single month without some serious bitching. I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.
Bioware games are far more interesting to talk about and ridicule than to play. They are also popular enough to easily get informed about everything relevant without playing them. There's your explanation.

Are you trolling me? Do I really have to add general result in case of every single example?
Nope. The thing is that when you write a setting on simplistic, long since outgrown philosophy you end up with dumbed down setting for simpletons.

I'm completely ignoring that ancient Greek - like approach would still be a massive incline over 99.9% of modern fantasy herpaderp because it wasn't tainted by some unwashed desert dwellers' monotheistic moral dumbfuckery.

Ok, here we go: The point is, with the help of special ruleset, you can present your universe in its uniqueness.
Unfortunately not every snowflake is beautiful.

For example: You can show the player what does it mean to be just, unjust, good, evil, right, wrong in that particular universe. So no, you are not making game for medieval knights, but you can make a game where the player simulate medieval knight PROPERLY.
If you want to dumb yourself down, alcohol works just fine and wears off after some time.

Just a hint.

Therefore you, the player, are actually aware of what the fuck is going on and what the fuck is wrong with all these people bitching/want to kill me when I'm just politely expressing my atheism in a game set in 11. century...
I see you can't grasp the difference between universally accepted morality in the setting and actual universal morality built into it.

We've already discussed it then.

It will also be less boring than any Twitcher, including 3 despite what local potatoes will like to believe.+M

The way it shits on TES lore it might as well have them.

The original issue I've seen actual BioWare developers claim was the game's cinematics. Wether its bullshit or not I can't say, though I suppose it would depend on how many instances there are of characters interacting with each other. (Cue jokes about the sex scenes and how BioWare should leave those to loverslab).

So it's not as if you won't have games to play.

Well, I would like to pretend that people on this forum like to diss on games they actually played. But I don't know who I'd be kidding.

On the flip side, I played through the horrendous slog of ME1 once - just once - and am ready to "diss" that game for at least the next 50 years in every thread available. Be careful what you wish for.

Actually, that's an idea - BW should contract some loverslab modders for their sex scenes.

Would help their workplace ethics as well - I can't help but imagine those poor modelers and animators who signed up for an opportunity to work in games industry, but are stuck with doing awkward soft porn, while wondering when did their lives go so horribly wrong.
It's how people end up with their brain sprayed all over their place over a bottle of vodka and a gun.

The day 1 was what i don't think will be true. I have no doubts all Codexia will have played DA:I one or two years after it's release. I know i will ;).
But if Kickstarter incline times itself right, i can easily see myself playing it many months after it's out.

WHAT?

Have you learned nothing from modding Skyrim?

You don't need to 'contract' anyone. Not even as unpaid interns. Let the 'community' do your job for you.

That way every BioWare employee will be left wondering who are the poor souls who create the company's soft porn. And wether they are locked in the company's basement like the rumours say.

Trust me. For a lot of people this is butthurt: the thread. They will want to know wether or not we'll see a rehash of DA2. Others will come seeking the lulz.

Considering how many people still played DA2 after supposedly playing through the entirety of DA:O and bearing witness of the DA2 marketing campaign, you're probably right. The Codex has battered housewife syndrome when it comes to Bioware games.

But that would mean that it would only be available post-release and I don't think many of biowhores has enough brains left to install mods.
Also modding tools.

Indeed, this is all very problematic. But, provided the modding tools (and that Nessus turns into the Alps), an official endorsement of a subtletly labelled 'Tasteful Romance pack' goes a long way. Just release it together with the HQ textures.

Day 1? PE will be out before DA:I (i hope)
It won't.

Unless somehow Bioware produces a good game for a change, confirmed by Vault Dweller and Gamebanshee's Review, plus Codex general opinion is positive by the time i get to download it. In that case i'll buy it
and still play the Free version because fuck Origin
It'll be a Bioware game, and if you hate those, you can already call it a wash.

Bioware prevents critiquing their own shit on their forums.
No they don't, they get criticized all the time. They police the tone.
