It's a shame, the qunari (or however you spell their name) was one of the few interesting things about the Dragon Age lore for me (Sten was a bro and the arishok was about the only interesting character in DA2), but it seems like they made DAI's main qunari character into another generic BioWare character who talks about excessively about alcohol, violence, and sex, 'cause that's what mature and gritty adults talk about.

It's mainly a system set up for people who buy shit and then can't run it or actually think it's unplayable shit... Well I didn't actually (tried the demo and it just didn't grab me) but point is that presumably a lot of people (on the Codex) played DA2 simply because there was no other option if you wanted to play a (new) party based semi-tactical RTWP RPG, that won't be the case this time with POE (which is gonna be a 10x times better game in every way possible) coming out around the same time.

That said, I never understood Codexers who play the game 5 times all the while whining how it's irredeemable shit, I can't decide whether they're masochists or just hypocrites. I mean I'm a serial replayer, if I like the game I'll play it to death but If I'm not enjoying it I'll drop it and uninstall it right away (don't see the point in torturing myself).

It's because the truth of the matter is that there is a wide, wide gap between "amazing" and "irredeemable shit" but the Codex cannot into gradient enjoyment scales. You're supposed to either love a game or hate a game according to many here, and many people play follow-the-leader with that because they're weak-willed pussies too afraid to say the enjoyed something others didn't.

Dragon Age 2 is legitimately a pretty shitty game, though. I still finished it because *shock* I love RPGs and even "bad" ones are worth playing most of the time. I'll play Dragon Age Inquisition hoping it's a better game and get what RPG enjoyment I can out of it. What I won't do is play it 100 hours and pretend I hated every moment of it.
