As someone who spent over a hundred hours on DA:O even you must have been surprised in the change of direction between Origins and DA2.

I've gone over this several times. I was going to submit a review for DA:O to the codex. If I am going to write about something, I better fucking know what it is I am going to be talking about. That said, I finally came to my senses and finally asked myself, why am I wasting my time on this garbage, and uninstalled it, and threw the DVD over my fence. and deleted the review and went off to do something else.

Wether or not you are ashamed of admitting to like a game in spite of its flaws isn't the issue here. Point was that you actually played Dragon Age: Origins, several times actually, and I'm sure you can tell what's the difference between it and it's sequel. BioWare always aimed towards a mainstream demographic but they didn't do so as savagely in both entries. Both games are RTwP instead of TB, but the former is hardly mainstream. Indeed, mainstream critics of Dragon Age 2 tend to think the combat was a major improvement, at best they think it was all a slight bit too fast and bloody. That is why it seems more time was spent in making sure the game feels like an Action RPG in lower difficulty settings as opposed to fixing and incrementing on DA:O's rules.

This must be a parody at this point, right?
Who the fuck is Bioware's community manager? Big Gay Al?

:dgaider:
Fuck, the witty pun almost eluded me because I didn't read the quote to the end.

But.

Picture of Dorian Gay, amirite bros?

:yeah:

The amazing thing about every single thing I've seen about Dragon Age: Inquisition is how it makes me wish that it was as bad as regular games, with their BADASSness and their FORTEENBOYS attitudes and storytelling. I'm just: "Why does this have to be this way? Can't it just be generically bad instead of hilariously retarded?"

Dragon Age: Inquisition: makes me wish it was like everything else. 10/10 GOTY.

When given the choice between whatever the fuck this shit is and hardcore retarded broism (because literally no other video game approaches exist) I would go with the creatine supplement jizz parade vs. wacky moustache fabioso over here and shiny blacklady headspikes.

You insane bastard. Ever since Sims 4 lost its Always Online DRM we won't be able to find butthurt anywhere else. Dragon Age: Inquisition saves us from absolute boredom.

They write games specifically for the mass market, to gain the widest appeal (and sales).
Bioware knows that the mass market is made up of homosexual, bisexual and furry gamers who love fucking their companions more than anything else.

Smart guys. Damn smart.

The problem is every fucking character has to be witty. You can't have a good story if every character spouts off witty banter all the time. Granted you can't have every party member at each others throats like a free for all cock fight.

Drunk, no shit faced lp of dai by a brodexer. Someone must provide us with commentary so we may seethe in monolithic snark and contempt. Yes who shall take the challenge come October?

No one.

Luckily I don't give a shit about function > form in a video game. But overall DA:I's armor sets do look better, at least the ones that I can judge accurately, since others suffer from being on a ridiculously stupid pose. Better looking than DA:O's mundane, painfully boring armor sets and less stupid than DA2's awesome button gear. To be fair though, the DA2 hawk armor in that image is the mage armor.

Whether or not you can get those heavy sets like blackwall wears remains to be seen. Since armor is supposed to change visually depending on who's wearing it.

Disappointing, my favourite character in DA:O was Sten, because he was a first hand experience with the Qunari. Kinda sucks that the first true Imperium companion we get is going to be completely atypical and anti-Tevinter. Didn't they already do that shit with the final fantasy elf? As boring as it sounds I sometimes wish they would play at least a few characters straight. (instead of Beardless dwarf hating dwarf, drunken outcast dwarf, etc.)

Good point. Was definitely planning to play an angry mage, so if he's a whiny bitch about powerful mages in his homeland then fuck him.

[DG]: Dorian is gay—
NO!? STOP RIGHT THERE! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU!

So they're not going for "everybody are bisexual" this time around? Just "this one dude is gay and then like all the chicks are bi cuz that's kinda hot"?

Re-installing Origins for my first ever replay of the game. Maybe I'll hate it this time and I can fit in with the Codex Intelligentsia (lulz).

Gonna be a morally bankrupt mage I think.

I concur with Nikaido. From my Codex experience, the consensus seems to be that Origins is actually good. Most complaints are about mages being overpowered, while DA2 gets an unanimous "It's pure shit".

the codex was quite splitted on DAO. Initially it was mostly positive, I think the overall view turned more negative as more people who didn't like Bioware games to begin with started playing it. Which would explain the backlash to the initial positive comments. (some also vented when they came to more boring parts of the game)

Dorian does, indeed, enjoy playing hide the sausage.

[DG]: I tend to start at "sarcastic" and work my way from there.

Explains why so many of his characters turn out sounding the same.

They didn't disappoint again. If VD made another mock-interview he would this time just reveal how the game is like.

If I ever wrote a homosexual character then I wouldn't make him an overly obvious one. Maybe even a repressed one. This one is just dragged straight from the pride parade.

Why the fuck does it even matter?
This kind of Fantasy is broadly based on the Middle Ages, right?
So wymyn usually cook and gays fucking don't exist, at least not officialy!
My point: If for some reason you need to include strong wymyn and cewl gayzzz at least do it in a be fucking lieveable way!
