I think that rather than looking for a Codex perspective, you're probably better off looking for the views of a few codexers that you share RPG tastes with. The Codex seems a little schizophrenic at the moment. :P
I would've taken a negative opinion by VD as gospel, but his praise of the game made me seriously doubt his credibility.

The Bioware storyline philosophy, for better or worse:

Good one, Lumpy. Sums up the new Codex well.

Really great game. Definitely a better game than The Wicher.

You have been charged with betraying your motherland, comrade.

The central committee is not pleased, and the secret police is currently on its way to arrest you.

A word of warning for those playing the game:

I installed the new patch this morning and my game wouldn't start. A bit of internet research revealed that the patched executable was apparently created with a newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 than comes bundled with the game, but Bioware didn't think to include the newer version of the package with the patch.

If you patch the game and it won't start up afterwards, download and install this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f7-ec73-40ff-b072-9112bab119c2&displaylang=en

Should work like a charm afterwards.

Shitty game. Fun to play for a while, but that's it. 2 replays max.

That's a bad game for you? The only games I recall ever replaying are BG 2 and Bloodlines.

Shitty game. It's really fun to play, but I'd hate to have to admit liking a game just because I have fun playing it. 17 replays max.

This is a shitty game so I will only play it twice.
You had better hope this was irony, or this is a fucking lowlife scum addict speaking, I wouldn't be surprised.

It's like Baldur's Gate, except with shitty 3D, writing and gay sex.

Bullshit, BG had shitty writing and you could add gay sex with mods which is something essential to any rpg experience, you should shut the fuck up because gay sex is what this is all about.

I don't know about you, but when I like a game I replay it more than a few times. It's personal preference really, and for me DA is a shitty game that's deserving of no more than a couple of replays.

Irony quote pyramid

I see that your crippling assburgers is preventing you from discovering the sarcasm in my signature. Good for you.

If you're going to call me names, at least use "moron" or "idiot" but not assburgers, please

What. The. Fuck.
When ME2 comes out people will go "Better than Fallout 3".
It's not like they didn't the same about it. "Better than Oblivion".
Achievements all around.
