The developers probably got their inspiration for this game while hanging out in gay village.

All said, this is going to be an absolute disaster.

Shaping up to be a fairly cynical offering based on the promo materials shown above. Bioware certainly know their target market.

I'll have to play a Dragon Age game sometime, maybe get a sense of why some people still pay attention beyond the YA romance crowd. VD was relatively positive about DA:O back in the day but it seems like the series has been a total shitshow since.

The logo really looks like some mobile game for kids. I thought EA would have a tighter leash on BioWare after the studio went to shit, but apparently they greenlit this PR campaign with that logo.

Codex Year of the Donut
Important update from Bioware

I can't help but notice a link between companies saying they're founded upon "diversity, equity, and inclusion" and companies making trash products.

gays are the straights of fags now
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not.
Fucking men up the ass is now basically the same as fucking women in the pussy. It's an ancient, classical thing, rooted in patriarchal tradition since even before the Greeks. Vanilla shit. We're in the body mutilation sexual age now.

You might as well stop it with this gay charade and be hetero

A company founded by, built up by and, ultimately, destroyed by white heterosexual men. A fitting end.

The artwork looks like Fortnite. I guess that makes sense, because that's obviously the targeted audience for this abomination.

Are we sure this isn't a mobile game? Everything about that title image screams mobile game. Given how shit they are I could see the pivot as a last ditch effort to rake in mobile market money or bust.

I have actually started to set the difficulty to "easy" so that it gets over quicker.
I have spent far too much time getting killed everywhere on the map until I found that one spot I was actually meant to do some progress in.

When you play the games in quick succession, the LGBT stuff is problematic for reasons other than "urrr no liberals" than some retards codexers make it to be.

I think DAO had some lesbian/gay/bi romances, I am not too sure about that, but I did not feel at all bothered by them. It felt like some knowing gay people, and you know, whatever bros, I don't have to have sex with you. They behaved like "normal" gay people.

Now, you still don't need to fuck the gay people in DAI and Mass Effect Andromeda, but something has changed in the way those romances were designed. A switch happened at some point : it is pretty clear in the design, in the character archetypes that some head honchos at Bioware saw the Bioware Social Forums, the fanfics, the Deviantarts, the super awkward part of the fanbase and decided that "hey, our gay romances should appeal to that crowd, those are the ones making the buzz about our game.".

As a result, just being in the same room than those people feels awkward. They are designed as sexual porn stars and talk like porn story characters. And you have to talk to them. Repeatedly. You have to stare at Iron Bull's nipples. All the time.

Mass Effect 1,2,3 handled it kinda okay, although it was a bit clumsy at point. I remembered when I reached Andromeda I was thinking a bit "what the hell?" ? That feeling was gone when I switched to DAO, started creeping in again with DA2 and is now at itchi.io charity bundle level with DAI.

It gives you the feeling of progressing slowly into something that has been designated for one special kind of people ; not the gay ones, not the liberals you guys seem to hate, but that awkward fringe fraction of the fanbase which seem to have their hand on the fate of the game.

There were no gay party members in DAO. However Leliana and Zevran were bisexual, which provided opportunities for same sex romances.

And while Leliana was mostly quiet about her sexuality (and past her adventurous phase anyway), you had to really press her to tell you something about it, Zevran was very open and always hitting on your PC, regardless of his/her gender.

As usual the LGBT influence gets exaggerated and Bioware games are no difference than RL

I always follow appropriate and available Romance arcs in all RPG I play. Romance in Bioware games is optional and its just a part of party interaction which you can easily ignore

I initiated Romance in all DA games, except for DA:I which I havent played yet, and all ME games and I had no issues with LGBT Romantic interests because its easy to say no and you wont get asked again

Anders in DA2 is a completely different person compared to his previous appearance, and his personality can be summed up as "I'M GAAAAAAAAAAAY!"
It's the first RPG I can think of that pushes sexuality & romances directly on you.

Even CAD managed to do a funny at the time -- with a comic he'd be raked over the coals for now:

DAI has no attractive straight women at all. Cassandra was purposely made to look like a man according to the artist himself.
they're purposely made ugly
compare cassandra in dragon age 2 vs dragon age inquisition, including the developer commentary regarding her design process

Mike Laidlaw on Cassandra in DA2:
And then, obviously, we wanted to make sure she was hot. To dial her to eleven, to make her absolutely gorgeous, really enticing—yet at the same time, she's powerful, she's strong, she's wearing platemail
Cassandra-Pentaghast.png
Casper Konefal on Cassandra in DA:I:
I just found beauty too subjective, too mushy too, too, well lets just say I didn't find it adequate ... Her face became all about her aggression. Through the angle of her facial structure to the angle of her ears. It all became about giving her a strong aggressive forward visual flow.
