Grab the Codex by the pussy Strap Yourselves In Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
On the upside all those writers that worked on Inquisition have been let go ever since... only to be replaced by equally vacuous hacks.
BioWare is still hanging on to several writers from the DA:O days (one of them going back to BG1/2, Luke Kristjanson - he's actually in the video).

I am not holding my breath, considering how Andromeda and Anthem turned out, also not to mention the cringe that was Inquisition. The game is clearly agenda-driven, and the concept art looks like something from girls' comic books. If there is any good example of a game series killed by its fandom, it's probably be dragon age, just check out their forums and discord, it's full of degenerates who care about nothing other than the romance and who they can fuck. This series is finished in my book.

But who is the culprit in charge of that retard Joker, who pilots the Normandy? I hate his guts.

Very promising concept art though.

Some is good, but overall it is the same as they did before. Like:

- improbable/impractical fortress on mountaintop. I counted three instances!
- Third real world land copy, this time it is Rome/Italy.

that waterfall city must be the most impractical one I seen

i normally mourn most of the studios that ea mercilessly kills off (maxis, westwood, bullfrog, visceral, etc) but i would be completely fine if bioware was unceremoniously nuked tomorrow

Perhaps, but they got rid of Hamburger Hepler. Surely that should improve things...?

She left a year before DA:I came out. People love to hate on her, but she's actually responsible for a lot of DA:O's dark fantasy feel.

FFS what dark fantasy feel? Where? DAO was mediocre in terms of setting, tone and atmosphere, stealing ideas left and right and implementing them halfed-arsedly. If Hamburger Hepler had a hand in that, it actually explains a lot.

She wrote the Deep Roads section for instance (you know, the pregnant Darkspawn and all that?). Which is funny because she's infamous for her "games should have a no-combat setting" comment, and the Deep Roads are the most combat-heavy part of the game.

That's not dark fantasy mate. That's darkier and edgier.

As much as I hate this shit franchise, honestly I hope this is a critical and commercial success so that way Bioware doesn't break up and these people don't infect the few remaining studios I actually like or split off a hundred different ways and create a hundred times the
decline.png
If it is a big success there will be imitators and the infection will be held up as visionary. They will spread to other studios as leads.

Though I must add that the questline *does* contain potential for dark fantasy. It lies in the process of creating golems. However you have a choice to discontinue it. Truly dark fantasy would have left you no other choice.

fun times

any words on gameplay of this? They can hardly make it more console-action-RPG than inqui
From the video today, it's looking soulsborne-like, which I'm totally fine with personally.

Best to go full bore action than half step like some weird half stepper.

Deep Roads was tedious as fuck. And Dwarfs were the least original part of the game.

Inquisition was total dog shit, DA4 will probably follow suit. And look at this concept art, I don't care if it is a man or a woman. When I saw it my first impression was that Gru joined the team.

Make the Codex Great Again!
Perhaps, but they got rid of Hamburger Hepler. Surely that should improve things...?

Curiously, things got even worse after Hamburger Hepler left.

Let's look at what she said:

"Games almost always include a way to "button through" dialogue without paying attention, because they understand that some players don't enjoy listening to dialogue and they don't want to stop their fun. Yet they persist in practically coming into your living room and forcing you to play through the combats even if you're a player who only enjoys the dialogue."

Well that's pretty uncontroversial today, I seem to remember being super triggered when she said that originally, but now... yeah, why not have that option?

If there is a setting in the game to skip combat, why not? Most games have such an option already and nobody cares. It's just there, if you want it.

We may have overreacted to what the poor woman was trying to say.

Look at the garbage Patrick Weekes and fucking Gaider showered us with. Hamburger Hepler was actually not trying to shove dangerhair queer theory down our throats.

If Hamburger Hepler had a hand in that, it actually explains a lot.

She may not be a great writer, but ...

This is probably a terrible thing to admit, but it has definitely been the single most difficult thing for me... While I enjoy the interactive aspects of gaming, if a game doesn't have a good story, it's very hard for me to get interested in playing it

- Hamburger Hepler, 2006, confirmed to be a Storyfag

It looks fucking shit. I mean it really does.

Take away anything I know about it, the devs, or it's previous games, and from the vids it looks like it's set to be a wank 360 era action RPG.

I'm thinking like a more flawed & shitty version of something like Divinity 2. They'll think they're making a Dark Souls rip-off, but won't get what makes such a series so good.

Boiwank are a fucking embarrassment.

At this point, are enough people even invested enough in Dragon Age to make another game? Especially after back-to-back failures like Andromeda and Anthem?

I also can't figure out if the Solas plotline is the worst thing ever or... wait, no, it's pretty shit.

I must have rolled over these but now I have some space to slip one in so where would you recommend I pop my cherry, Faggot Age Orgies: Sexual Awakening, or Faggot Age: Inqueershitting? I don't have any interest in number 2 because the characters look too gay.

DA:O is decent if you've run out of porn to watch. All the porn stars being out of work and starting shitty onlyfans has me in a state of despair.

I think it really has just descended into teen popcorn fodder.

"It's got wizards & shit in like Gandalf!"

And that's it now. That's it's audience & market.

I mean, it's not like the ideas in DA:O were really that novel (if anything, 95% of it was generic as fuck), but at least there was some effort put into world-building and actually making a halfway decent RPG. Inquisition and Andromeda feel like they were written by committee and boring as shit. Also everyone was ugly as ass, so I didn't even bother fucking anybody.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.

Luke's old school--he actually answered questions I sent him about BG1 back in the day--but his presence didn't save the last few games so I'm not sure it matters.

At this point, are enough people even invested enough in Dragon Age to make another game? Especially after back-to-back failures like Andromeda and Anthem?

I also can't figure out if the Solas plotline is the worst thing ever or... wait, no, it's pretty shit.

Since none of us have access to any stats, it's hard to say. Anecdotally, my wife will play the shit out of it, and I will regret all the evils I have brought upon the world.
