I don't see at all how the combat is the offensive one of all the shitty slob you can eat in this all you can eat locus
I don't expect video game journos to have good taste, in fact I expect the opposite.

I do expect them to have a good grasp of game mechanics.

But of course, the truth is that they're all just industry shills and wannabe activists.

I respect streamers more than I respect most game journos, and I think streamers warp the minds of children.

They are nice, because they want free game codes.
One bad opinioin and they know they are done.
No more free stuff.
Behaving like good boys and sucking dick for the corpos is the only thing keeping them afloat.
The reality is that their job can only exist in enclosed controled enviroment and without it they have to compete with streamers, youtubers and fan reviews.
Imagine if this game came out in the 90s. Everyone would believe them because the are the "professional" critics.
Now people can actually find out the truth if they search or look around for a bit.

Sadly enough people still fall for this shit. It's actually a real scam. I just saw a advertisement on youtube boasting about all the 10/10 reviews for the game, making it out as this years RPG smash hit...

So the way EA operates is they don't need every game to be a success. They're willing to finance a bunch of duds if there's a likelihood of 'breakout success'.

It's also possible that they instruct a company to shove as much DEI crap into a game as possible knowing full well it will flop so they can get it over with and show it to their investors. The more extreme it is, and the more outrage it causes the better for them because it's proof that they're in with the program. They don't need the game to turn a profit.

Maybe this Dragon Age is Bioware's punishment for making a couple of shit games in a row. Like saying well if you can't make a successful game then make something we can show our ESG investors.

Me causing the death of Bioware by not buying the one Mass Effect 5 copy that would make them profitable:

It's an act of kindness, really.

"Chest appears after completing the Harding Mission"

Much like the character creation, the chest will be small and not worth your time.
