Bioware must be sighing in relief with Awoked taking the all the flak for them.
Is the game actually bad or is it just the one arts guy freaking out? Because I don't give a shit what some lunatic is saying on X.

The red skull enemies in Witcher 3 are basically off-limits because they regenerate their lost health in a matter of seconds.
You can cheese 'em. I remember killing several golems that were red skulled.
I remember killing a gryphon that was like 15 levels higher than my Geralt. I found it while exploring those small islands near Skellige (tried to squeeze as much content from W3 as possible).

The battle was like something from Dark Souls, since every hit from the gryphon took about 1/2 of my health bar, so I had to evade as much as possible while searching for openings to land some strikes. Took me like 15 minutes and all of my bombs to kill this motherfucker, but I did it. Probably my most memorable combat from this game.
Good for you.
It's still shit game design.
All of this combat can still occur without having a level-based system that is signalled to the player

Keep the high level enemy, just remove the fucking floating number above its head

Bad, but not as bad as Feilguard.
To be fair, previews of the game seem fine. Even SkillUp who massacred Veilguard was into Avowed.

Unless the game design railroads the player into battling only similarly leveled enemies or implements some form of level scaling, it impossible to resolve this issue. Personally, I would prefer to encounter enemies that can one shot me and take 20 mins to kill or I can return to fight later when I'm leveled up.

Lots of people were positive on Veilguard at first

Spending 8 hours in a curated first area isn't the same as playing the entire game for 40+

Seems like people are desperate for eye bleach after Veilguard. Any mediocre RPG is welcome just to forget that abomination exists.

The problem with red skulls wasn't that they were stronger than the player, but that the very fact they were red skulls massively boosted their stats. As in, if you levelled up a bit to make the enemy no longer show up as a red skull, said enemy would have much, much worse stats than it had before.

People like you are always a hoot, the chief of art guy screaming on all channels via social media that he never wants to hire another artist of European descent ever again, gets retweeted by one of the Obsidian big-wigs, while the rest of the team is so politically schizoid they no longer know what a man or a woman is, but this is entirely unrelated to the game and will obviously have no impact at all on what the team delivers. It's not like they'd promote a woman who has no interest in video games at all but is there to make a living until her career in writing Netflix scripts or cheap women's genre lit takes off into a position of project leader, giving all women in the industry a bad name since corpos stopped pretending to be rewarding merit over a decade ago and it's become one big incestuous radical American new left nepo ring.

The development team sniffing glue has nothing at all to do with the finished product they'll deliver to you. Causal chains, what's that?

The issue is easily resolved by not inflating numbers so much.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.

Skillup is an Obsidian shill
He is a giant normie first and foremost, can't expect a refined RPG palate from him.

For every brilliant takedown, like the Veilguard one, there are five strong recommendations of some artsy fartsy indie or mediocre slop smelling of vegan farts and hair dye like Outer Worlds.

Also don't forget, even some people roaming this here prestigious forum can't see anything wrong with OW. Those are gonna be slurping Avoid from day 1, braying with delight, blissfully unaware of any subliminal messaging.
