What's wrong with a loli wearing a dress?

...

You are playing a loli aren't you?

My guy looks like Gandalf/Dumbuldore in drag.

My main pawn looks like darth maul. Named him Daemon cause evil wizards/sorcerers summon a demon to make themselves more powerful. Since I'm doing group spell casting why not?

So after some :decline: early levels and dying to stupid shit, I finally get my first Sorcerer super spell (Bolide).

So I go and fight the Ogres in the Quarry on Hard at level 27...

Wow! The ending to the original game = mind blown. Gotta love the strange, philosophical mind fuck. Very enjoyable experience. Hopefully when I complete the expansion, the ending will be just as gratifying.

It's probably better if you play as the sorc.

On my second play through I have switched the roles of my character and pawn. This time, my pawn will be a fighter (using my warriors gear) and my MK will take on the role of a Sorcerer. At level 63, the starting content was a lot easier. ;P Bitterblack Isle here I come (again)!

I spoiled the "ending" for myself and I agree it's pretty unique. I like how they tied in the ending with a certain aspect of this game. Very nice. Anyways, I'm trying the 3 sorc, 1 fighter party with my and my main pawn being sorcs. Miasma is such a good low level spell. Can't wait to try out group spell casting (and maybe finally decide on which character to beat the game with).

Recently got the Adept Robes. They're... :codexisfor:

I look like a fruit, but all the cool Wizards are flamboyant/gay anyways so whatever.

Did you beat the game a second time? I ask because the final final boss fight is different the second time.

Starting on Everfall now. The abrupt jump in difficulty felt poorly designed. Went from 1-2 hitting through mobs to fighting HP bloat tanks within minutes. Those damn hellhounds, put my pawns to shame. Also the love interest stuff felt tacked on pointlessly. Didn't even know I had one until I fought the dragon. Was hoping he'd just kill her as I didn't care whatsoever.

I skipped a bunch of sidequests too, ready to just finish the game. Mystic knight ended up being an asskicker vocation choice. Tried assassin but aiming a bow with the analog stick just reminded me why I don't play FPSes on consoles.

I think your choice not to do the sidequests is behind this. What level did you end the game at? I was at 60 or 70 something after doing EVERYTHING, short of Renyard's quest (I hung left when I started and missed him) and a few notice boards, and I didn't notice a real problem with bloat aside from the boss monsters.

I think not sticking to a consistent type of class (Assassin has highest attack growth but almost no magic, and MK relies almost entirely on magic) may also be a problem.

Oh I did a ton of notice board sidequests, but they just became tiring and I skipped a ton of them towards the end. I accidentally screwed the pooch on a couple more important ones too, like getting to rescue the duchess (though she magically appeared as my love interest with the dragon.) So I never got to explore the Blighted Mance before the game cancelled it on me. Right now I'm level 56, I believe.

I'm not finished yet though. Took a break after beating that Hydra boss down in Everfell. What a nightmare it was taking him on with a mystic knight. Over 30 minutes of sigil whoring and I had to constantly revive my stupid pawns who wouldn't move out of the way. Probably the hardest fight yet due to using the wrong class and not having Magic Cannon set but I was intent on beating it with what I had.

watch the personalities of your pawns and their enemy knowledge. my main eats archhydras for breakfast.

the enemies in everfall have different weaknesses and if it feels like something is full of hp bloat, you just haven't found/brought the proper tools for the job. it's even truer for bitterblack.

Those goddamn Elder Ogres and their goddamn berserk mode. My sorcerer main pawn kept dying every 5 seconds. And fighting him in a close space drenched in water and in complete darkness was a fucking nightmare.

Also, fuck you too, Death! How do you even fight this shit?

slowly, hoping he never spawns with sirens and with 100% sleep resistance on you and pawns.

Tried to fight that huge Ur Dragon but he flew away within 10 seconds and wouldn't come back. I had my connection set to online and soon as I entered the arena area, some other party of four pawns were there and they attacked me for some reason. I killed them all in one hit and was confused as fuck. So I switched to offline but the dragon still won't come back and I don't feel like resting a bunch to try again, which I assume would bring him back.

Whatever. Think I'm ready to just finish the game, tired of this whole Everfall area. Some of the boss fights down here have been a decent challenge though, including that Hydra. The one with the Lich, giant undead and Golem was pretty tough for a minute.

Started on New Game+ and looks like I can return to fight the Ur Dragon any time from that beach portal. Good.

That ending was goofy, considering my main pawn was female. So when my male arisen's body woke up on the beach, he calls out, "Master!" in a woman's voice. What the fuck? Tranny simulator?

I've finally tried the demo and I gotta say that the pawns are really annoying with the way they repeatedly want to push ahead and fight without me. They also talk entirely too much but I have read somewhere that they can be made to shut the fuck up, which I would implement immediately. I'm apparently their leader but I can't make them hang back or shut their fucking mouths in the demo. Is their behavior in the demo representative of their behavior in the full game? Can they be made to be more passive? I tend to explore thoroughly and advance fairly cautiously; these ADD pawns would be a major pain in my ass. That brings me to another question. If the pawn system drove me to want to play solo would I be better off skipping this game? Pawns seem to be a huge part of the gameplay, but if they're meant to emulate playing online with a group of 12-year-olds then I'm guaranteed to not like them.

Press down on the d bad to get them to come. You can reduce their speach rate by using the knowledge chairs in inns, and Dark Arisen reduces it further. It also how aggressive they are depends on your pawns inclinations/personality type.

It's fully possible to play without pawns, especially in the original (they nerfed the augment that gives you an 80% attack boost for no pawns down to 20% in DA, but the game is still easy past level 10 and piss easy past 50 it isn't a problem)

My main char = a giant warrior with down syndrome. Fat, skinny arms and legs, cauliflower ears, half his face was dead (stroke victim?) as evidenced by the saggy eye, plus he's like 8 feet tall and has to hunch over to interact with the rest of the world

Very authentic

Equipment is gay though, frilly plate armor for everyone! No! Even without armor, this guy is invincible

This is a great game with a few glaring issues (Dark nights, crazy loud sounds outside of town, NPC spam speech, long boring travel)

My one complaint is that the dragon boss fight setup my love interest with Symone or whoever, the 12 year old girl. The game's sex scene after that was... uncomfortable. PC being a giant and all, when they walked up to each other her head was off camera mostly and around his belt area... totally looked like a standing BJ

I rather like the dark nights. (Finally cracked and bought PS3 version)

It might be too dark for some nights, but overall it is way better than the "I can see everything fine!" nights of most other modern games.

I agree. The dark nights are easily one of the best things the game has done. Getting caught in the middle of nowhere at night has produced some of my favorite moments in the game. Dodging a ballista bolt (which you can only see because it is on fire) after realizing you have been fighting weren't fighting one cyclops, but THREE separate ones that have been ducking in and out of the shadows is still fresh in my mind despite occurring months ago (and this wasn't scripted)

There are some real flaws still remaining (enemy spawns aren't random being a bigger one, single save also an issue), but over all a good game. Not worth paying $60+$40 on, but if you have a PS3, I'd definitely recommend picking up DA and look forward to a sequel.

I'd like to remind everyone my pawn is up for rent on PSN (name is the same as here)
