Appreciate the warm feedback guys. It's a project that we've been advocating for the longest time. Myself and couple of others carried the torch since Sven left, and for various reasons, stars aligned and we were finally able to green-light the project. While it's not a brand new game, we did put in a lot of effort and passion into this project to make DDDA the best it can be while being fiscally sound.

I can't wait to see everyone's response once the game releases next week!

Also, I noticed many people commenting on a potential sequel tied to the success of the PC port based on the recently published PC Gamer article. There's no secret agenda here really. It's just the way _any_ company works today. This is especially true for a publicly traded company that needs to invest significant amount of resources while being able to provide reasonably stable return on investment for stockholders.

So in a nutshell, there's some truth to what Matsukawa said in the interview. If the port sells well, it means fans love it and want more of it (e.g., a sequel). From a production standpoint, her team are a bunch of passionate folks and really love what they do, so naturally they do talk 'what-if's' and share ideas about a potential sequel amongst themselves. They're content creators and think about DD fans and what they want in terms of the future of the franchise.

From a business perspective (that's my area, *ahem*), we review sales results, forecast where we land with the project, and discuss amongst senior management and production heads to determine where to invest next.

From a DD fan perspective, we just hope you simply buy DDDA and really enjoy it for what it is. Don't think "I need to invest in this port for a potential sequel." That's no fun. This is a video game. You're mean to play it and have fun along with the passionate DD community.

All you need to do is make friends, trade pawns, post awesome screenshots, share epic stories from your adventures and really ...just have fun with the game. It'll organically create buzz and strong word of mouth if enough people do just that.

See you all soon on the other side of the Rift.

If you guys aren't aware, it was leaked. You can play it right now.

BUT THAT'S IMMORAL.
Good news. I couldn't wait till next week to pirate it and it's only a 6 gig download.

Already found it. Will it buttpound my Steam account?

Don't run Steam at the same time, you silly goose.
Is it even possible for Steam to detect your pirated games just because they're on the same system?

I mostly just don't want to spend the bandwidth downloading it a second time when it releases. Game is not light in the footprint.
I'm going to download it, I just hope my savefiles will still work after the full game releases.

From what I've heard it's fairly good, the keyboard and mouse controls are a tad stiff though.
This is why you play with a controller.

No, but running Steam at the same time as a Steam emulator or a crack that bypasses Steam is ludicrously dumb. (I forget exactly how Steam cracks work these days, but they used to be emulating Steam invisibly.)

meh, I'll try it anyway, nothing has happened yet and I have pirated bunch of games and even added them to my steam library.

I'm currently downloading DD and will post screenshots if shit works. Looks like I'm uninstalling Oblivion and Ass Creed.

I don't mean you have to uninstall Steam, just that you shouldn't have the client running at the same time in online mode.

Well, if you were hoping for something atmospheric with solid lore and plot, yeah, this ain't the game. This is pretty much straight up gameplay as the attraction, but it's got that in spades. The little tutorial section has you play as the most boring character possible, unfortunately, and the game takes a while to open up properly (once you get to the city and can access the hybrid vocations basically) but it'll probably take about that long to get used to a lot of the mechanics/controls anyways, it's paced pretty well imo.

Is it possible to play unarmed (or melee)/ magic hybrid in Dragons Dogma DA?

There are no unarmed skills or classes that I know of. Weapons are the biggest portion of your attack power and there are no knuckles.

If you look to plan your character, there are three things you must watch out for: your desired vocation (and therefore weapons and skills), the stat growths for each vocation (if you care to be add a bias towards your physical or magical attack power, for one, though I think its unnecessary), and the fact that Passive Augments are universal and can be used with any class. For an instance, the blocking improving bonuses from the Fighter vocation can be used by a Mystic Knight hybrid.

Furthermore, you should be aware by now that you get to design a sidekick for the whole game. That involves all the above as well as their Pawn Inclination, or AI, which is very important. The system itself is somewhat complex and obscure, but its important to keep an eye out for Inclinations that keep your pawns close or far from you. You wouldn't want your archer to draw attention to you as a Sorcerer.

Maybe you mixed things. There already was a Demo on the consoles.

EDIT: lol I'm stupid.
