Compiling shaders taking a while but I'm glad they did it that way instead of the first hour or two sucking ass.

Did nobody fucking play Dragons Dogma 1? It's one save file. Make backups of your save.

Isn't the point of a sequel to improve on the original?

You're the only brain rotted retard here who immediately thinks of zoophilia when he sees a cat

I don't really hate the catmen, but I agree with the Jarls that they should be kept out of our cities.

For those who are getting it, how's the performance? Is it as bad as advertised?
I'm hoping against hope it's not. Fucking japs, the first one ran butter smooth from day one.

I'm gonna predict at least 500k peak steam concurrent over the next week, and that's probably really low unless the game does poorly (such as getting trashed in the reviews over performance).

Guestimating these things is kind of a good drinking bet, ngl.

It runs like complete shit on my Linux PC, actually unplayable :dead:

Anyone got decent performance on Proton? My GPU is pretty new but maybe I need a better CPU. Trying Proton Experimental to see if it helps.

Edit: Experimental did nothing.

It's so funny that computers are an order of magnitude more powerful than they were a decade ago but games don't look any better and run significantly worse.

Looks like I'll be waiting for some performance patches but likely to buy at full price. Not happy with some decisions made but it looks overall like what I wanted it to be.
My sage wisdom from yesterday. Now I can watch a few streams/vids and see if its still worth it at full price or waiting for a sale. Patience pays off sometimes.

You can buy Rift Crystals, Portcrystals, Wakestones and some other consumables.
Additionally there's a Gaol Key, Art of Metamorphosis (char editor), and an item to change pawn inclinations.
And a Music & Sound collection (?).
In total 22 items.

Review from steam:
No FOV slider
- Constant dips below 60fps
- Microtransactions in a $70 SP game

Will give this one a month or two and try again

Yeah nvm, this game looks like its gonna get trashed for performance issues.

Performance isn't that bad, but my machine isn't really top notch, so it's hard to tell. I turned off most of the garbage and it seems to run ok.
Not only performance issues, it's filled to the brim with microtransactions. Refunded.
Haven't seen the microtransactions yet, but I see something about an "in-game store" in the menu.

How bad is it?
