I had ~70 lb of blue steel, and 25.8 of sky metal in the end.
So you can forge Lamelliar Ordu armor with 13 DR.

High Int help with early high dodge and weapon skill, also craft and alchemy tend to appear early in game.
It is never too much to have high attack rating.
4 Str is all you need for daggers.
I do, but shield in hand help (I think, because I didin't see confirmation that shield in hand add something for dodger).

I created a 4 STR - 5 DEX - 4 CON- 8 PER- 10 INT- 9 CHA character to see how far I'll go and to pass all INT checks along the way but as it turned out a build like that is totally viable and what's more important very enjoyable to play.

After a certain point I didn't have to invest any SP and as a result I've had lots (206) of unused SP. This changed once I had to face the Emperor, at this point I was a sitting duck (with absolutely no defence besides DR from the armor) and could be killed by anyone with nowhere to run. So I've spent my points to max crafting and have a decent block (6 to be exact).

With such low DEX you have to use completely different tactics and there's no way to cheese through fights, especially in the beginning. I had to sacrifice EVERYONE on rock bottom + Hieron to even get to Reinard and the fight with him took me about an hour (once I started to use alchemy it took me only a couple of tries but I was trying to save neurostimulants and bombs for later). With 7AP you can't hit and run, can't find chokepoints (because before you'll get there you'll be dead, or someone of your team will) and in general you're handicapped.

But like I said it's lots of fun and poses quite a challenge. It's not iron-man level of course but for those who finished the game a couple of times a build like this will be definitely enjoyable. To my surprise, I defeated some very tough opponents quite easily (e.g. Scaurus on first try) but that's because followers made most of the work. Solo a build like this would be impossible.

In the end I've defeated all opponents quite easily and finished the last fights after 3 reloads (reloaded the beginning and just hid my character because even with my block at 7 due to very low stats my defence was almost non-existent and had to resort to this to survive the whole thing). The whole team was super powerful and to be honest, I don't find Yngvar better than Marcus and for best results, assuming you want a 4 person team, I wouldn't put more than 8 points into charisma. Marcus and Roxana are superb, Yngvar is roughly equal to Marcus but because he uses shield he shouldn't wield a two-handed weapon and can't utilize axes to its full extent.

Anyway, I've finished my run in 14-18 hours (don't remember exactly how much time I had at the time I started playing but it was over 60 hours, 66 h I think) and the hardest fights were Reinard one (wouldn't have beaten it without high alchemy), Emperor one and with 3 constructs near the machine.

Goral, you are one scary dude.
Many people would easily finish it, I'm just saying that it's doable in case someone would like to try. Past Reinard it becomes much easier. It might change if Vince will decide to nerf crossbows though (there is a request like that on Iron Tower forum).

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
it will probably get nerfed. i mean roxanna is literally killing everything in my playtrough. in most fights, i just use myself and marcus to tank, and roxanna as the damage dealer. if stuff are too tough, nothing a potent liquid fire, then poisoned crossbow won't fix.

But vs critters and constructs you have big problem, no damage at all even with AP bolts.
Barbed bolts/arrows work on constructs and worms and are devastating to them. And double crossbow is usually better than 5-shot one (unless against non armored opponents or with no helmet).

Barbed bolts double enemy DR.

And dmg is like 50% of my 10 str bowman. I see consistent 15-18 dmg shots, can do 3 per round. Big crossbow is like what 6-10 shots, 2 dmg shots per round.

Also i can change shot for 0 ap, be it barbed or AP.

I tried crossbowman, such a pain on constructs.

Can you finish game with it? Probably yes, since fights are too easy. Hard difficulty is in fact = Normal. But for fights solo with crossbowmen vs 3-4 constructs you probably will spam reloads all time.

Haven't played with bows yet so I can't compare but against constructs I was dealing 13-15 damage per turn on average, using either barbed or normal arrows. AP arrows dealt less damage. And at the start I could fire 4 attacks (with Roxana) which was enough to kill a single construct. It seems that bowmen deal more damage but crossbows have -3 AP ability to compensate.

Plus you can drop STR to 4 without any consequences, which is ideal for a CHA-based main char.

Can you post some info how you did 4 attacks with crossbow for 13-15 each attack each turn?
I played crossbow, i dont see this damage. Since crossbow dmg is set (cant increase with Str) can you explain?

What crossbow you were using, what dmg on it per tooltip? What attacks you used (AP costs)?

I've had double crossbow and 2 hand crossbows equipped and used head or arterial strike attacks. I could do 4 attacks only at the start (unless I used neurostimulant). I could do more attacks if I would have several loaded crossbows in the inventory (deequipping and equipping costs 4 AP while reloading costs 6 AP but I didn't resort to that). Here are my saves: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eulqlvm3pipdh7i/Archimedes1478495842_37.sav?dl=0 (around the time I fought the 3 constructs) and https://www.dropbox.com/s/anjrfu1lq6t5pc5/Archimedes1478495842_45.sav?dl=0 (my end save).

Ok, i will post numbers myself.

AP costs, dmg on shot, etc. How many shots per round starting round 2 etc.

I know you can do 4 shots easy on round 1, but round 2 its much worse, also this shots are bad dmg, hand crossbow = low damage (will post numbers since you dont want post them).

That crossbows do not rely on Str is not good feature as it seems.

Any character with 4 str will do more dmg with other weapon instead of crossbow (except turn 1). Not to mention with str higher than 4 - damage will be even more than crossbow.

That you can finish game on hardest difficulty even with subpar weapon is 1) game is easy 2) game supports any build.

Maybe, but he will die much more easily because he's close and anyone (not just the shooters) can hit him. Crossbowman can usually finish someone off before he gets close, the problem starts when there is half a dozen or more enemies (but it's not a problem for a 4 men team).

Not any build and it's not that easy. Out of all my playthroughs it was definitely the hardest. Create a build like mine and see for yourself.

Should I push Ismail to 10 alchemy? I was kinda mindlessly putting all his points into alc since I got him and he is now at 8... and I wonder whats the point since I'm not using it aside from healing balm and poison... I guess I'll do it for "completions" sake...

Regearing the party with new and recrafted stuff on forges is half the fun in this game...
