Dungeon Rats - first impressions and general feedback

Bleh... 7 Str 10 Dex 7 Con 10 Int spearman blocker stuck in fight with first bomber-fucking-man. 45 hp is often a crit, and even if not, they succesfully chip away hp. 4 craft, 4 alchemy, 8 block 7 spear, 1 point short from 9 block.

I thought this was the case at first so I was hesitant to gather ore and alchemy materials with low skills, but as far as I can tell it has no relevance to the amount gathered.

AFAIK crafting only affects material harvested from recycled items. Hoarding them all until I got 10 was a dumb idea, you need to built shit if you want to survive.

are there any worthwile perception/int checks? i remember some ealry game with 8 per and a fireplace for 8 int(?) but dont know if there any more mid-late game.
also dagger was really strong in AOD, is it the same here?

Only if you can crit, which is hard in latest figths.

im at the fight with the colonoscopedra and the 3 plants and they perform involuntary anal examinations on my dodge team!
and im all out of lube!

phew, i had ROXANEEE to plink them with the crossbow as the rest of my team hide behind a corner.

when playing with a party against the plants I gave person with highest dodge a shield with best +defense against ranged attacks and had them act as a target while roxanne used crossbow. also remember that you can prebuff yourself with antidote to avoid the poison damage

also dagger was really strong in AOD, is it the same here?

dagger is what I used when doing solo psycho (edit: had ironman written here earlier that was a mistake, HAVE NOT BEATEN IRONMAN). it is very good, especially when combined with high level alchemy. you have to have a good amount of points in critical strike though.

those were removed in a patch i ran into same problem when i played with a party. there were no cassava roots even after taking out the emperor, although you get pretty much every other alchemy ingredient in the emperors chambers and above

you do? i didnt get any alchemy ingredient there, some steel/blue steel/sky metal and 95 rations.

near the end there were times I was playing with basically a 3 man party due to Heroditus being useless in a fight.

You can just have him until Craft 10 then drop him for someone useful, like Yngvar or the CHA10 guy.

Makes the midgame harder, but the end easier.

yea 10 is better, there are 40 fights in total so in theory i could get 160 more skill points.

Only with 10 you can get 4 skills of 10 level.

dodge dagger couldnt get past the 3 plants so restarted with dodge/spear 10con/10dex/10int.

This spear is almost ok - except you will lack damage.

how did you get pass the 3 plant fight? i have 7/6 dagger/crit and 9 dodge.
