That's true except some of the bastards will force shit into your inventory to try and screw you over. I've had that happen. Fortunately the dark soul fragments didn't screw me and I was able to drop the other stuff and had no bad consequences from it. I don't remember exactly what it was but there was a "dark sword +99" and stuff.

Anyone gonna replay one of the Souls games to prepare for this? From what I've seen on YT, combat mechanics are very similar, so Souls games can serve as good prep training.

I've yet to finish bloodborne, despite buying it 5 years ago. so there's that.

Son, I've got a combined total of almost 800 of Dark Souls under my belt, and there's people on here for whom that's casual mode. I've gitten enough gud that I don't need the training, especially in the open world ez baby mode.

I only pick from the presets. If there are no presets, then just whatever the default is. Caring deeply about how your in game avatar looks is completely alien to me.

Apparently the game's ready for release with the day 1 patch being worked on.
Let's hope it covers the RCE exploit found in Dark Souls 3 since Elden Ring's online play just is lifted from DS3.

Wut? Berserk is gritty as fuck. Nothing of these fairy tale blue bright bubbles all over the screen.

I was initially put off by the art direction. I do agree it is a decline from the more focused Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Still, it looks like a solid From game and looking at the various footage it kind of grew on me. There are some gloomy areas as well. I think that the worst case scenario is that it will be a decent game with inferior art design.

Yeah, it will surely be a good game but that art direction looks generic fantasy 101. I hope the undisclosed areas manage to present a more interesting aesthetical whole.

I don't really care about magic cause besides testing it for a couple of hours I never played a caster in any Dark Souls game.

Anyway, the really shitty thing from the trailer is the Great Axe part ... the weapon has no weight.

Well, I guess we will never go back to slow combat of DaS or DaS2.

All the Soulsborne games have become increasingly flashier and faster with every new instalment because they need to look more grandiose than their predecessor. It's especially evident when you look at spell effects and the types of attacks a typical enemy or boss does.
The days of Manus's rapid slam combo and Artorias's somersault being the most 'anime' attacks in the games are long gone. You'll take your fire trails and slooooooow wind-ups leading into a 7 hit combo or a 1440 degree spin attack and you will like it.
