Heh, refer to the Sekiro thread to know why i did that (well, there's also the fact i actually kinda like Godrick).

Don't worry, from now on i'll brutalize bosses with all the cheap shit i have lmao. Could have easily cut that video down by half if i used square off like i've been doing in my recent videos.

Reguarding my SL1 run, the only house rule i set for myself is to just use whatever i find as i progress. I could have easily made a beeline to Radagon's Soreseal right out of the gate but i actually like the idea of using whatever i find along the way step by step. Other then that, everything is fair game except for spirit ashes or summons.

If you REALLY cared about the game and cared about getting good, you would use bongos, a dancemat or voice commands, just like everyone else here who is any good and a notable souls veteran

I hope it's not time travel DLC. Miquella's dream does seem like it can happen, you would enter it through the cocoon. Picture is really cool, looks like the erdtree covered in Deathblight? Idk. Anyway, the wording used is calling this an expansion, not a DLC. And suggests that it is still some way off release. Maybe a bigger thing than one zone+3 bosses is incoming? I hope this means the existing content will get rebalanced and revamped. Which is what this game needs most. Remove a lot of the sites of grace, there are too many, rebalance all the items and spells (some spells are way too slow and/or do to little damage compared to weapon arts, bleed and katanas are ez mode, some ashes are too faceroll, some next to useless, etc...), add some new enemy types spread around the world... Anyway, I am excited for whatever is to come.

I think they used to word "expansion" to differentiate it from the previous MP update, which was treated as DLC technically speaking. So this would mean new areas and bosses rather than just MP.

I'm skeptical about this DLC, since FS historically ramps up the difficulty and craziness with its DLCs. But in the case of ER the base game is already overkill with it's spastic helicopter bosses and nonsensic animu weapon skills.
Like I said before: the bosses in the DLC will make Malenia seem tame and fair by comparison. After the DLC I won't be touching their games anymore. They went off...way off. If I wanted to play a sonic game or whatever speedy Gonzales shit there is out there, well I'd probably be playing those instead. Fighting sekiro bosses with demon's souls character is not fun.

Weren't you hating on the game a while back? Now you are buying the DLC? I bet you will buy the new armored core too, and post about how trash it is.

Maybe, I don't know. Iirc they always called their updates DLC and they were ready to release soon after an announcement was made.

Look ma, no spirit ashes, no crazy weapon arts, no overpowered spells, no bleed or other status effects, not even buffs and consumables:

I was told the bosses in this game were impossible to do without abusing overpowered stuff unless you were some kind of pro-gaymer turbo teenager or something. Turns out all you need is to git gud.

Dedicated to PorkyThePaladin.

ACTUALLY, you should know that any directional movement is cheese and cheating.

A true, souls veteran (a real gamer) would explore the lands between by using the displacement of attacks, orienting themselves with a bow and fist attacks. Also, using anything other than your fists to fight makes you a loser. It is cheese and you need to get good, if you can't beat every single boss and mob with no mistakes for hundreds of attacks at a time.
I see also that you are NOT RL 1. Cringe. Leveling up is a sign of weakness. Considering your Vigor is above 10, you are so bad you get hit. Cringe.

Don't talk to me if you played the game with controller OR keyboard. If you REALLY cared about the game and cared about getting good, you would use bongos, a dancemat or voice commands, just like everyone else here who is any good and a notable souls veteran. If you can't do all that BARE MINUMUM, then you can't even say you beat Elden Ring without cheesing your way through every encounter.

CRINGE!!

Lowkey brilliant post. All that SL1 run nonsense and other such self inflicted handicaps is retarded. About the only restrictions I ever put on myself are no magic and no shields, which is fine because that stuff is legitimately for cowards who pee sitting down.

You are telling me that on NG+7 you are still going to fight Ulcerated Tree Spirit #147, rather than using Comet Azure to be done with it and enjoy the actually good bosses?

1. I dislike the bosses and the open world aspects of the game. Everything else is on the same level as it was in previous From games. And according to expectations that they have set with their gameplay showcase and interviews. I was curious as to their vision of the open world, how would they approach it, how would they do it. Now I know. The ultimate disappointment came from the bosses themselves. Since there are so many of them (an absurd number) it soured the whole experience I had with this game, which is a first with From games. I wasn't expecting that and the blow was that much harder.
2. I played it and I will also play the DLC because I want the complete package and to do one last NG+ (which would make it NG++ in my case) to test all the DLC weapons, spells, items etc. I didn't say anything about buying. I will play the DLC because I also played the DLCs for the other From games as well. And who knows? Maybe they'll actually make one good boss. Hope dies last and all that.
3. I'm not interested in Armored Core or any other games that have...whatever those big robots are called. Since I will not play it I won't post anything about it. Seems dishonest and unfair to me. I don't play games in a genre I'm not interested in order to bad mouth them. It's very stupid.
Overall, seems there's a lot of assumption in that post of yours. Hating, buying, trashing something I have no interest in following or playing. Not a good first impression.

1. Dude fights the slowest boss in the game and tries to brag. Try that with an actually difficult boss, like say Godskin Duo or Malekith.

2. As is clear from your comments, you are already playing this for probably the 20th time. Being able to do well in a game you are playing 20 times is not getting gud. It's demonstrating your lack of a life, my friend.

Yeah this chick is nuts with this game, I saw her do two Malenias at once. Her 2k+ viewers on stream probably pay her enough for this shit but I am not sure I'd have the patience even if I was paid handsomely.
I didn't actually read the side bar until now. What the hell? I'm too dumb to even wrap my head around doing that at all, nevermind coordinated enough to do it if I did understand it.

Godrick is the early wall boss that gives people the most grief. Not only SL1 but no damage and no shield. Very nice.
No that's Margitt, wtf you on about.

Godrick is universally accepted as the easiest remembrance boss in the whole game. Margitt spanked me for 15 tries on my first run, but Godrick went down on the second try. He is slow, has no range and he pre-signals all his moves by first making a twitter thread on it, linking those in a Reddit post, then posting that Reddit post link on ten subreddits and then writing a medium article on it. After every move he then makes a tell all YouTube video about it.

Do not try to tell us that GODRICK of all bosses was your difficulty wall??

I don't recall any difficulty wall for myself, nothing in this game is hard after Sekiro. But I do recall lots of "Omg how u beat godrick??" posts at launch. I think people just get there underleveled.

I would also say Rykard is the easiest since there is a weapon sitting there in his room that you can faceroll him with. Godrick will crush you if you eat his combo or mis time your dodge--he has a few delayed moves and tricks that can trip up people trying to dodge on pure reaction. Not to mention Horah Loux/Morgot who were pretty much effortless due to having so many more resources at that point. Heck, played right Radahn is super easy.

So, I deny your claim of him being the easiest boss, hence you're wrong about it being "universal."

He is the boss i had in front of me what do you want. Tell me which one you think is "impossible" to do "legit" and i'll try to remember to call you once i get there.

For the record, Godrick is actually more tricky than people think. Delayed attacks are often harder to avoid than fast attacks, at least they were for me the first time i started to encounter them. Like the Misbegotten with the axe that fucker always tripped me up the first several times i met him.

Also, this is my second run, but... why is it a problem to have a game that requires you to play it many times in order to master? Like yourself pointed out, the game gives you plenty of options to get past pretty much anything if you don't feel like training for it, but for those of us who want to do things "legit", yes, it sometimes can take time to master those bosses. I'm not getting what the issue is with that exactly. It took me a million coins to be able to finish Ghost n' Goblins as a kid and i don't even know how many times i had to play DoDonPachi before i was able to do my first 1CC run. Some games are just like that i don't see what the issue is here.

Besides, your argument was that those bosses are impossible no matter what. You talked about needing to have the reflexes of a 15 year old to go past them which clearly implies you think the difficulty lies in the twitch factor itself, which is not something you can overcome no matter how many times you try to play the game. If the problem is in the reflexes, playing the game for twenty times isn't gonna help you. If the limitation is physical, it will be there no matter how much "practice" time you put in. However, the fact even an old withered boomer like myself can master this game shows that it's not a matter of reflexes, it's a question of knowledge, which was always the highlight of Souls games for me.

FromSoft itself came up with the idea with the pyro class in Dark Souls you dofus. Sure you had the pyro glove there which was supposed to replace "leveling", a concept which i found incredibly cool and was bound to inspire people from there on even in the absence of such a thing in later games.

SL1 runs are fun not just because of the challenge, but because of all the planning and tactic that goes with trying to exploit every nook and cranny in the system (and Elden Ring has a ton of options in this reguard). One of the things i didn't like in Dark Souls is how easy the game becomes after Anor Londo if you start leveling too high (which you will invariably do if you don't intentionally cap yourself). It sorts of cheapened the experience for me, especially considering how tight and intense the game was up to that point. This was mostly because all the end game areas were balanced for the same level on account of the fact the game was non-linear from that point on but the result is that whichever area you did last was invariably going to be the easiest. On my first run, i did Nito first and it was an incredible fight. On my second toon, i did him last and literally steam rolled over him like he was Pinwheel, something which disappointed me greatly at the time. Because of that fact, i begun to intentionally cap myself in all Souls games in order to try to keep the challenge balanced, an habit i kept even on my first Elden Ring toon, where i only leveled to keep up with co-op in the area AFTER i did the area. I think i was SL40 when i did Caelid and around SL70 when i finished the capital and only ended up at SL150 by the time i hit Malenia only because i was told that was the PvP meta for end game and wanted to try it then (in hindsight, i should have stayed at SL125 as apparently they now decided that's the meta. Fuckers).

To me, a SL1 tun is just an evolution of that concept, the purest possible form of attempting to maintain the challenge by not overlevelling content. Ho, btw, it's also an incentive for me to try NG+ as i also don't like to replay games as someone else has said here. I did NG++ in Dark Souls only to get the achievements and it kinda of annoyed me, because when it comes to RPGs i'm actually a low level kind of guy. One of the things i enjoy the most is starting with nothing, and getting more powerful slowly. Restarting the game with every single piece of gear and no build to look forward to was never that attractive to me, even if the game is harder. It just doesn't feel the same, there's no discovery anymore, no item threadmill if you will and no build variety which is kinda deflating. That too is part of the reason i like the idea of a SL1 run, since it stretches that concept of starting with nothing indefinitely lul. It certainly gives you an opportunity to make the best out of items one would usually discard the second you have the stats to jump on a better weapon. My plan after this SL1 run is to stay away from the game for a long time then return to it for an NG+ run while pretending i'm actually starting from scratch.

Try that with an actually difficult boss, like say Godskin Duo or Malekith.

Well, i did both of them solo, but my fights with both were kinda shit shows:

I started playing carelessly and recklessly at this point because i was seriously burned out (not the least because i had to redo the entirety of Consecrated Snowfield and the Haligtree on account of my save getting corrupted, some of you may remember that) and just wanted to get it over with. Definitely didn't spend a million hours trying to master either of those, which in hindsight is a shame.

When i get there with my SL1 toon i'll take the time to do them properly and i'll try to remember to call you when i post the video.

Given how long it's taking, I expect the expansion to be on par with the Old Hunters as far as it adding substantially to the base game and general high quality.

Considering the gameplay, how could the DLC not be the size of one of the base game regions ?
I suspect something similar to Limgrave and its southern peninsula in size.
One or two small locations and a big ass level.
That's my pronostic.
