I kinda lost some respect towards From when they ubisoftified their game and went down quantity over quality route. I legit thought Elden Ring would have the best, most epic open world ever.
It does. There's no open world game out there that's better than Elden Ring.

Stop being a pussy. If you can't kill a faggot fucking his brother what has the world come to?

Far cry 3. BOTW. GTA. Fuck basically any game that has a way to get down off cliffs.

Had to vote retarded at Far Cry 3. Didn't read the rest.

I've seen my nephew play that shit once and it was the most retarded crap i've ever seen in my life.

Yeah I might not be a huge fan of open world in ER but fucking Far Cry 3?
Far cry 3 doesn't have any stupid dead ends or cliff faces that randomly fuck you. There's way more traversal options and interesting things to find. Elden Ring is so bare bones even far cry 3 makes a joke of it was the point.

ER world only looks good. That's it. And it has some verticality to it as well as the incredible underground areas. Which look good. And that's it.

Far cry 3.

Is a huge decline from Far Cry 2 in every aspect. Elden Ring open world despite all minor flaws give to me a sense of wonder and I really liked exploring in ER. Beat the game twice and IDK If I found everything in the world.
It gets boring once you realize there's nothing of value in any of the side dungeons and every item pick up is a mushroom.

Fart Cry 3 is the defining example of Ubeisoft open-world slop. It is everything decline.

And it has vehicles, water vehicles and flying options. So you don't spend 5 minutes riding up a cliff only to find it dead ends and you have to either jump down very poorly designed gravestones or turn back. Which makes it superior to From's slop.

So in short Elden Ring would have been way superior if it had a wingsuit.
Looks like those on the lower side of the IQ spectrum did not understand that unpassable cliffs and chasms were placed there by design, and that you're not supposed to be able to climb any surface like a spider-monke or fly down from any height, because the open world still has its own ebbs and flows, for lack of a better word. The geography matters, you don't get to bypass it and turn the whole world flat like in Zelda: Best of the Worst.

I know, it initially feels frustrating when you look at the map and the thing you want to get to looks like it's right next to you on the map, but in the game world you have to go the long way around the cliff/chasm to reach it. Eventually you're supposed to get the point and start looking at the map as an artistic outline, rather than a GPS navigator system with a checklist of things to do like in almost every open-world game in the past 20 years. I love it. It's like the Gothic map, kind of. Or the maps in Thief 1&2.

That alone wins Elden Ring the prize.

Imagine being so retarded you defend the gravestone steps. How sad does your life have to be when you think that's 'intended game design' and not a shitty last minute solution because you fucked up your game design so bad for the 10th time you had to cut massive features you had planned for and now the only solution left is to make terrible stairs out of them?

Wait, what's so bad about gravestone steps? What cut game design feature they are mitigating?

They barely function and it's easy to slip off them since the platforming is terrible.

There was a sky falling mechanic related to the towers. The grave stones were originally post-fall maps but it was discarded and many of the maps we have are made up of or are the original post-gravity shift.

This is the first time I am hearing about this. Where did you hear about this bit of cut content?

Just so you know I 100% believe you, From has done this shit multiple times and each time is worse than then prior.

This one has some more details but it's covering other cut content too.
