Not only , the event is beyond shitty, the reward they should have is beyond shitty, but they arent even getting any reward and the station is hand placed by a GM after server restart ?

Confirmed. It's shit. I hauled in 1000 tons of Land Enrichment Systems to Tanmark and I'm in the top 40%. My reward? 10,000 credits and a 1-day 5% discount on Onionhead. FFS.

This is keeping in mind that I can make 100,000 credits in five minutes doing a milk run from one station to another, within 18 light years.

It's like the devs don't even know how to make interesting missions, challanges. Great idea bringing MMO quest mechanics into the game. All those grinding runs are sure fun.

No , i think if i could gather a few comp science students and pay them , i would end up with something more fun than this. There's nothing sandbox in it, or well its kinda like a sandbox but you are under strict parental monitoring . Dad is holding firmly your arm while you construct the castle he order you to build. You cannot play with said castle , nor destroy it later.Your friends cant join cause server mom dont approve them either.

ITZ like this thing DraQ was talking about.

oh, stop it. the only thing you were "talking about" was your incessant crying and whining about "mah newtonianz" and how it robbed you of your larping as a dragon satellite. meanwhile, pretty much everyone who has played the game agrees the flight model is by far the best thing about the game and nobody but autistic larpers cares about staring at the screen and getting bored in stable orbits

if they put in 5% of the effort in the missions and other aspects of the game as they put into the flight model, this could've been a fantastic game, perhaps even a modern masterpiece. as it is now, the missions (particularly the incredibly, mind-numbingly retardedly designed community goals. not even the worst designers at bioware and bethesda could come up with a shittier concept. and i'm not even exaggerating), the "dynamic" trading (lol how a simple sql job updating 2-3 tables is called "a dynamic system" nowadays), the lack of variation in ships and parts (and the stupid "balance"... another thing they have 0 clue about. they know some stuff is unbalanced but have no idea why, so they go about it the only way they know: "make it more expensive [and have less ammo]") etc... is a complete clusterfuck without a clear direction lead by some obviously talentless people in the design department

Mah offline single player was there too - those were my two deal breakers.

Now we finally see how "I WANT TO BE AN MMO" is paying off.

so it's nothing like "ITZ like this thing DraQ was talking about." shitty mission design is shitty regardless if it's a MMO or SP since they obviously have talentless hacks designing them

Have there been any MMOs with good mission/quest design?
Ones that don't have quests or missions, but work organically, capitalizing on the only strength MMOs do have - large number of free agents each with their own agenda.
:troll:
This means forcing a game built like ED into an MMO mold was already a clear mistake back when this decision was made.

I dont think so, they simply have no ideas, people are losing interest and realizing they are not going anywhere .They arent even trying, those events are of lesser quality than what people on some mmo private servers are doing for free .

Like I said before, don't expect anything substatial until the first expansion. In the meanwhile I'm taking a hiatus to finally get caught up on last year's RPGs. Shadowrun Dragonfall was a great change of pace.

shihonage didn't you have some kind of bet with someone ITT (ulminati?) that cheats will happen within X months of the game being released (judging by the thread linked in a comment here http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDanger...nders_claim_players_can_hack_the_game_to_get/, cheating is laughably easy to pull off, and was already happening by at the latest 15.1.2015. so not even a month after release but the security is so pathetic i wouldn't be surprised if it was discovered 2mins after release)

That thread is so sad. :(

I guess this shows that Frontier's claim about all of the magic happening on the server was about as honest as Maxis' and EA's claim of the same thing for SimCity.
